Derek Yee feels pure Hong Kong films cannot find financing
John Chong feels Stephen Chow's NEW CHINESE ODYSSEY will be able to break the Chinese film Hong Kong box office record

Co-Productions Drag Hong Kong Films Down

The Giddens Ko directed, Michelle Chen, Ko Chen-Tung starred Taiwan film YOU ARE THE APPLE OF MY EYE broke Stephen Chow Sing Chi's KUNG FU HUSTLE HK$61.27 million highest grossing Chinese film Hong Kong box office record with a total box office of 61,801,081 and left "Eastern Hollywood" Hong Kong film industry in shame.  Will Hong Kong film be able to fend off the competition and regain the box office championship?  Let's keep our eyes open and see.

John Chong Sees Sing Yeh As Favorite To Break YOU Record

In 2012 Hong Kong film market will have many giant production releases, including the Chow Yun Fat, Aaron Kwok Fu Sing and Donnie Yen Chi Tan starred THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG), Jackie Chan's CHINESE ZODIAC (SUP YI SUN CHIU), Andy Lau Tak Wa and Lin Chiling's DWELLING IN THE FUCHUN MOUNTAINS, and Stephen Chow Sing Chi's NEW CHINESE ODYSSEY (SAI YAU GEI ji CHUI MOR OI JUEN).  Sing fans have been starved for four years so his new film will have hope to regain the glory of Hong Kong.  Media Asia vice chair John Chong Ching favors the idea, but Derek Yee Tung Sing and Universe Entertainment company boss Daneil Lam Siu Ming disagree.  They deeply feel that Hong Kong film will have difficulty with creating another miracle locally.  Looking north to China gives Hong Kong film professionals a new direction, but when they accommodate Mainland viewer tastes Hong Kong audience's "co-production" resistance becomes a burden.  Hong Kong film is dying, you know?

Daneil Lam Is Less Optimistic About Stephen Chow

Many, including Giddens Ko, hope Chow Sing Chi's new film NEW CHINESE ODYSSEY will break YOU's record.  Chong Ching feels it will have a chance.  "Sing Yeh is so talented, with all the starving Sing fans the box office will have certain motivation."

Derek Yee: Non Co-Production Has Financing Difficulties

Lam Siu Ming does not feel that Chow Sing Chi's CHINESE ODYSSEY will be able to break YOU's record.  "Sing Yeh's last film CJ7 (CHEUNG GONG CHUT HO) struggled to pass 50 million at the box office.  Actually this isn't Chow Sing Chi's problem, but the overall market's problem.  This is the general trend, everyone have to 'co-productions'.  Hong Kong viewers want to see Hong Kong films, but don't want to see any 'co-production'.  Yet now basically everything is 'co-production'.  Without co-production movies don't have funding.  Film ultimately is a merchandise, if you make a Hong Kong film with a 10 million budget you can't even hire actors.  Now actors are used to making 'Yun Jai' (RMB), how can they be willing to accept 2 million in salary?  If you don't approach them, plenty of directors in the Mainland would; you can't make movies that cost more than 50 million either, with only the Hong Kong market it is impossible.  You can't go back.  Ultimately no one is willing to invest in a purely Hong Kong film, this is a problem of the chicken and the egg!  Even Chow Sing Chi has to make 'co-productions'.  CJ7 was a co-production, Universe this year will make a few movies, all of which will be 'co-productions'."

Yee Tung Sing agrees with Lam Siu Ming, "co-production" is at fault for Hong Kong film market's fall.  "'Co-productions' have subject restrictions, many subjects can't be made and movies can't speak freely.  The results often lack power and become terrible to watch.  Helplessly non 'co-productions' have difficulties with financing.  If you spend 10 million on a purely Hong Kong film, it will be very hard to make and won't be attractive.  I want to make PROTEGE (MOON TOH) sequel and ONE NITE IN MONGKOK (WONG GOK HAK YEH) continuation, but when the subjects get to the Mainland market I don't want to accommodate the Mainland market and change the concept and certain plots."  He feels that the world goes round and round, Taiwan film has fallen for 20 years and now finally has shaken itself off.  Hong Kong films look north and accommodating the Mainland market has become an inevitable fact.  Because the Mainland population the box office return is strong.  Last year the box office reached 13 billion yuan RMB, naturally it has more investors as funding floods in; he believes after a few battles the film industry will look completely different.

Although Chow Sing Chi's NEW CHINESE ODYSSEY is a 'co-production', everyone still is waiting for Hong Kong film to return to glory.  The film costs over 100 million yuan and finally has completed production after more than three months.  Currently it is conducting massive post production special effect production in Korea.  It should be able to be released this year.

Media Asia Invades the Mainland

Chong Ching feels that YOU was a coincidence, only a movie that is suitable for young people.  He also believes that Giddens Ko will not deliberately make a movie to break a record.  "If he deliberately makes a movie to break YOU's box office, the movie may not be good.  Thus Media Asia's future big films first have to be good movies.  Future movies will still target the Mainland market, including the 100 million Johnnie To Kei Fung directed, Andy Lau Tak Wa and Sammi Cheng Sau Man starred BLIND DETECTIVE (MAN TAM), Lin Chiling and Lau Tak Wa starred DWELLING ON THE FUCHUN MOUNTAINS.  Both are 'co-productions' because minding only the Hong Kong market truly is very dangerous."

Film in order to accommodate the Mainland market, will Hong Kong film have difficulty recovering its lost ground?  Chong Ching says, "This is a return rate issue, Mainland return rate is high.  In 2011 top ten Hong Kong film box office, 3 movies THE LOST BLADESMAN (GUAN WON CHEUNG), MR. AND MRS. INCREDIBLE (SUN KEI HUP NUI) and LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE (DUET MING GUM) only made 8 million.  With Hong Kong releases, anything less than 10 million at the box office is a failure."

Gigi Leung Wing Kei in the film THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG) played Chang'e, thus the film company took advantage of the upcoming Mid Autumn Festival unveiled Chang'e for the holiday.  This time Gigi's Chang'e would continue the traditional cool beauty feel.  In particular with her stature and a snow white long dress, she gave everyone a strong classical cold beauty feel.  Gigi was very satisfied with her Chang'e look.  She hoped that the audience would accept it and that it would bring everyone good luck on Mid Autumn's Festival.

[2011.09.07] THE VIRAL FACTOR JOINS THE LUNAR NEW YEAR FRAY

courtesy of on.cc

Kelly Chen Wai Lam and Joey Yung Cho Yi next year will work on the holiday film EIGHTH HAPPINESS 2012 (BAK SING PO HEI).  Kelly due to her family has not made a movie in four years.  When she did she was just a guest star.  This time she would be the lead actress completely because the film was very sincere, with 1 million daily salary and "three no policy" to motivate her!

Since AN EMPRESS AND THE WARRIORS (GONG SAN MEI YUN) seven years ago Kelly started to step into another step of life.  In 2008 she wed, in 2009 she gave birth to "Shrimp Dumpling Kid".  In order to properly take care of her family, over four years she rarely made any movie.  Even when she did, she was just guest starring in films like 72 TENANTS OF PROSPERITY (72 GA JO HAT), THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG) and voice work for the animation MONSTERS VS. ALIENS.  She rarely starred in movies.  Even when Eric Tsang Chi Wai asked earlier, she did not agree.

Yet most recently, Kelly decided to make the "come back" with the Raymond Wong Pak Ming's new holiday film EIGHTH HAPPINESS 2012 (BAK SING BO HEI) as its lead with hunk Louis Koo Tin Lok.  The film company Pegasus was able to successfully invite Kelly to join the production completely because of sincerity and money.  The film company with 1 million daily salary and "three no policy" that included "no late night shoot", "no harm to her image" and "no overseas" conditions tempted her.  Kelly would not only be able to focus on making the film but also taking care of her family.  The conditions were rather good.

Aside from Chen Wai Lam, Yung Cho Yi will also make the film.  Joey has always enjoyed new challenges.  The film company tailored a fully challenging character for her to try.  Reportedly, this character would get a lot of attention and have many scenes with "the strongest in the universe" Donnie Yen Chi Tan.

Wong Pak Ming and Tsang Chi Wai have both made Lunar New Year films in recent years.  Almost every Lunar New Year they would "face off" once.  Earlier Tsang Chi Wai said in public that he would like to make a film with Kelly for the Lunar New Year next year.  Now with Wong Pak Ming reportedly already invited Chen Wai Lam to join, he has successfully "stolen" "Lam".  Chen Wai Lam's manager Claudie Chung Chun said, "Chi Wai indeed asked Kelly to make a film but he didn't say it was a Lunar New Year film so he didn't fight for her.  Pegasus film company is also in negotiation with Kelly to make EIGHTH HAPPINESS 2012.  (The film company made a high offer to tempt her!)  We feel the script and the schedule would be more important, the most important would be accommodating Kelly to raise Shrimp Dumpling Kid."

Pegasus film company's Ms. Wong said about adding Chen Wai Lam and Yung Cho Yi to EIGHTH, "We are indeed in negotiation, but right now we don't have anything that we can announce yet."

Sandra Ng Kwan Yu has always been Wong Pak Ming's favorite.  Yet last year Kwan Yu took Chi Wai's Lunar New Year.  However, this year Kwan Yu will return to Wong Pak Ming's "embrace" and work on EIGHTH HAPPINESS 2012 in place of Carina Lau Ka Ling.  In the film, Yen Chi Tan will play a retired soccer player.  Chen Wai Lam will play a photographer.  Playing a spoiled rich girl in last year's ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL 2011 (JUI KEUNG HEI SI), Lynn Xiong (Hung Doi Lam) will play a vision impaired person.  To the former model the role will be somewhat difficult and she will continue to be paired with Chapman To Man Jat.  Yet because the script is still "under production", nothing is set in stone.  Also under invitation is the MYSTERIOUS ISLAND (GOO DOH GAING WON) rising Mainland star Yang Mi.

In recent years Tsang Chi Wai and Wong Pak Ming have been competing close at the Lunar New Year, but next year they will still keep on fighting.  Aside from Pak Ming's EIGHTH HAPPINESS, reportedly Chi Wai will also make a Lunar New Year film.  This year's I LOVE HONG KONG (NGOR OI HK HOI SUM MAN SHUI) showed off all of TVB's artists, viewers will have to wait and see what new idea Chi Wai would have.

The Dante Lam Chiu Yin directed Emperor film THE VIRAL FACTOR (YIK JIN) will also directly confront Pak Ming and Chi Wai's Lunar New Year films.  As for the Derek Yee Tung Sing directed THE GREAT MAGICIAN (DAI MOR SHOOK SI), it has been scheduled for a mid January release to first test the water of the Hong Kong film box office.  As for foreign films so far only THE MUPPETS has announced its January 19 Hong Kong release.

Lynn Xiong (Hung Doi Lam) and Wang Yuanyuan yesterday attended a Central Clarin Skin Spa opening, Yuanyuan even personally demonstrated hand skin analysis. Lynn who always enjoyed treatment was a loyal client of the store. Would she help boyfriend Aaron Kwok Fu Sing afterward? She said, "No, I can't randomly help him with it. I am afraid of messing up his face. He still has to make movies and commercials. Instead I would work on Mommy."

Yuanyuan earlier worked with Law Chung Him on the film THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG) and praised that he was very nice and was very supportive of new comers like her. While chatting he also taught the actresses how to pick a nice guy. She said, "I was very shocked to hear (about him hitting Theresa Fu Wing). I hope he will be fine because he is a very talented artist. (Do you feel that he is lucky with women?) In this business he would work with many different girls. (Do you feel he is giving girls the wrong signal?) He didn't give me any signal. (Do you feel he's a maniac?) No, he is very professional but would joke around when he isn't working. (At the time did you know he and Fu Wing were dating?) I knew, but I didn't ask in detail. I haven't dine with the two of them either."

courtesy of takungpao.com

Joe Chen Qiao-En, Peter Ho Yun Tung, Xia Zitong and director Soi Cheang Po Shui yesterday attended a press conference for the film THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG) and a game site. Although the Heavenly Palace CEO Chow Yun Fat could not attend, he asked Filmko boss Alex Wong HOi Fung to bring his on the set photos of Princess Iron Fan Chen Qiao-En and Erlang Shen Ho Yun Tung in costumes. Qiao-En and Ho Yun Tung could not be happier.

When Chen Qiao-En saw Fat Gor's photo of her in costume, Qiao-En was teary eyed. "Fat Gor is very thoughtful. After taking the photo he even puts it in a frame for me. When I receive it my heart truly shudders, I was very touched!" Ho Yun Tung who has asked Fat Gor for photography tips could not open his mouth for several seconds when he got the photo. "I never thought my idol Fat Gor would give me a gift. The film has been finished for month, Fat Gor is still so thoughtful. On the photo is Fat Gor's autograph as well as the word love!" Nine Tailed Fox Xia Zitong went to study in the U.S. after completing the film. After the press conference she had to rush back to the U.S. for school.

[2011.05.31] ZHANG ZILIN HAS THE IMPORTANT TASK OF PLAYING NUWU

courtesy of singtao.com

courtesy of takungpao.com

China's first Miss World Zhang Zilin in THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG) played Nuwu and her costume has been officially unveiled. Nuwu's concept costume and color utilization displayed elegance and grace. The legend of Nuwu repairing the sky will appear in the film through modern high technology for the first time. In order to complete Nuwu repairing the sky with crystal, the investment cost almost 5 million RMB.

This time Nuwu appeared in Nuwu's traditional human head snake body look, but details like accessories were more gorgeous. The colorful accessories on her arm was different from Nuwu's past serious image. At the same time, the film spent almost 5 million on the "Nuwu repairs the sky" scene. According to writer Edmond Wong Chi Hung, "The film not only put the focus on 'wrecking havoc in the Heavenly Palace' scene but also mixed in many causes and effects into the film. Thus, the Zhang Zilin played Nuwu was not making soy sauce as in the legend but truly had an important task to shoulder."

Zhang Zilin said, "At first when the film offered this role, I was somewhat uneasy. Nuwu as the female ancestor of humanity first had to have graceful Eastern femininity as well as the holiness that she should have. I tried to interpret both qualities, hopefully everyone would like this character." The film company also invited two dance instructors to conduct a week long dance training for her. During the shoot, Zhang Zilin was on the wire and in midway for 18 hours. She performed a variety of dance in flight and highly difficult spins. Zhang Zilin said, "After this scene, my body almost wasn't my own anymore."

[2011.05.19] ZHANG ZILIN REGRETS NOT ACTING WITH CHOW YUN FAT

courtesy of on.cc

Zhang Zilin at China Night

courtesy of mingpao.com

Zhang Zilin attended the Cannes Film Festival as the Loreal ambassador for the second year in a row. Before departing, she stopped by THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG) sales booth to support the film. In THE MONKEY KING she played Lady Nuwu. She said that she spent three month to learn dancing in order to play well the scene in which Nuwu refined stone to repair the sky. Zhang Zilin said that the shoot was memorable because she had to be on the wire for a long time. She had to display beautiful dance moves in mid air. When she returned to the ground she almost fainted. She fell to her knees much to the surprise of the crew.

She regretted the most that she did not have a chance to work with Chow Yun Fat. In one scene she in mid air "brushed by" Fat Gor, but during the shoot a prop was used. She could only act with a prop, which left her a deep impression.

In order to do so he sacrificed his lunch time and ran to the film's Cannes exhibit to meet the media, with his action he demonstrated his support and concern for this 2012 special effect action film.

Chi Tan stood in front of the William Chan Suk Ping designed poster that was made specifically for Cannes and said that he looked forward very much to this film. He also admired boss Alex Wong Hoi Fung for his vision and ambition as he invested heavily on this 3D Chinese film with a super strong cast. Chi Tan said, "Although the production was very tough, everyday I had to spend four hours in Sun Wukong special effect make up. I felt very tired but it was worth the effort."

Chi Tan was the box office miracle. Buyer response was very enthusiastic about his film in Cannes and made high price offers. Many U.S. film companies have expressed interest in the film and bought the U.S. rights; some companies even claimed interest in investing in THE MONKEY KING sequel. Chi Tan said, "I once asked Mr. Wong Hoi Fung not to ask me to play Sun Wukong again because the special effect make up was too tough. Actually I was just joking. The film already had sequel suggestions before it was completed. Of course I was very happy, let's what the boss thinks." Chi Tan said that he would definitely take his children to THE MONKEY KING premiere next year. Because this film was adapted from the JOURNEY TO THE WEST story, it was very suitable for the entire family. This would also be the first time he would bring his children to his own film premiere.

In order to express the earth shattering concept even more directly, in the poster the golden staff struck many colors out of the Heavenly Palace. Reportedly Chang Suk Ping hid a secret in the poster. "This secret requires attentive people to slowly discover, perhaps they would find numbers or small rules of the graphic and understand the secret message that I hid."

As for Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi and her son Lucas Tse's film TREASURE HUNT (MO GA JI BO), in the poster Pak Chi carried Lucas with a tree vine in hand and swung around like Tarzan.

He not only had to be with his family but also study martial arts in preparation for his end of the year action film production.

Earlier he went with his wife to the doctors, he pointed out that everyone was too sensitive. Although during the past four months of THE MONKEY KING production in Beijing he had to play Sun Wukong and be the film's action director, he remained in great condition despite the hardship. He only caught the occasional flu from the crew. He stressed that his health was great. He only had a little airway sensitivity, but his wife dragged him to see his doctor. [2011.03.16] 3D THE MONKEY KING GOES INTERNATIONAL

courtesy of takungpao.com

THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG) was completed earlier in Beijing. Lead actor and action director Donnie Yen Chi Tan was reluctant to part with the team on the set. The shoot has been very tough on Chi Tan, who not only had to play the Monkey King but also take care of the action director job. Everyday he spent over four hours on special effect make up, the removal of which also took over an hour. His skin under the long term abuse from the make up was inevitably red and swollen. In addition 3D special effect shoots took much more time and effort than the average film, Chi Tan however never complained once.

After the wrap, the long road of post production special effect work has begun. The film will conduct 3D special effect, visual effect and other tasks in Japan, the U.S., Australia and other locations, the process of which will take 15 months. The film's 3D production equipment provider was Red Digital Cinema, a top Hollywood digital production equipment provider. The company starting at the end of last year went to Beijing three times for an understanding of THE MONKEY KING production. Sensing the film's production scale and technical break through, the film's entire 3D production process has been set as an example to be included in Red's strategic development project. In this spring's global sales promotional conference THE MONKEY KING along with PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEANS ON STRANGER TIDES and SPIDER-MAN 4 will be promotional focus for global production and distribution companies.

[2011.02.16] CHOW YUN FAT'S NEW JADE EMPEROR CAN FIGHT

courtesy of on.cc

Chow Yun Fat, Donnie Yen Chi Tan
courtesy of takungpao.com

Chow Yun Fat in the Filmko new film THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG) played the Jade Emperor. Because the team has kept full confidentiality on each character's information, viewers have been looking forward to the Jade Emperor that Fat Gor described as "Heavenly Palace CEO".

Earlier the film finally unveiled Fat Gor's Jade Emperor look. The traditional Jade Emperor often sat in the Lingxiao Hall and dressed in a golden dragon robe like ancient emperors. Yet Fat Gor's costume had the daring change from gold to silver with a dragon head scepter in hand. The costume was a mix of the East and the West and had the royalty of three worlds. Chow Yun Fat's Jade Emperor seemingly should be the most "international" style. At the same time, this Jade Emperor would not command from behind the scene and be all talk without any action. Fat Gor would lead the gods in battle, and the dragon head scepter in his hand would be the Jade Emperor's ultimate weapon. As for why the dragon head scepter, art director Daniel Fu Dung explained, "Mainly the dragon head scepter is more regal than weapons like swords and has more weight to it. It is even more able to embody the Jade Emperor's identity as the ruler of three worlds."

The film's actor and action director Yen Chi Tan made many scenes both dramatic and action with Fat Gor, and they had quite a chemistry. Yen Chi Tan worked with Chow Yun Fat for the first time and Fat Gor on numerous occasions praised Chi Tan's Sun Wukong for not only fighting pretty but also very convincing in the dramatic scenes; as action director Yen Chi Tan while directing Fat Gor's action scenes also complimented Fat Gor's agility and ability to handle highly difficult action sequences. Two superstars could be said as mutually admiring and should be able to set of sparks.

In addition, Filmko also invited Fat Gor to star in CRAZY SENIOR HOME with Ge You. Fat Gor has always admired director Zhang Yang's style and thus was considering the role. As for whether Fat Gor's salary will increase, boss Alex Wong Hoi Fung said that with Fat Gor's outstanding acting and draw, a raise would be reasonable.

Peter Ho Yun Tung and Godfrey Tsao (Go Yi Cheung) yesterday attended a Hong Kong medical museum fashion show. After the event Ho Yun Tung had to fly to Paris for an ad. Recently he has been busy with the film THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG). This time with the chance to work with his idol Chow Yun Fat, he praised Fat Gor as friendly. On the set he often shared acting experience with him. Fat Gor learned that he had a passion for photography as well and traded experiences. He said that normally he shot scenery more, but Fat Gor was more detailed and was even able to predict weather before analyzing how to shoot the photo.

In the film Ho Yun Tung and Donnie Yen Chi Tan had fight scenes. He pointed out that Chi Tan's kung fu was the strongest in the universe so he could only be the one who was the most able to take a beating in the universe. Earlier Yen Chi Tan was made fun of as the shortest in the
universe. During the shoot did he wear flat bottom shoes to make up for height? He pointed out that they often had wire scenes and height did not make a difference.

courtesy of on.cc

Peter Ho Yun Tung earlier came to Hong Kong to attend an New Year countdown event with Bosco Wong Chung Chak, Dada Chen Jing, Lina Matsuoka, William Chak and others. His uncle who lives in Hong Kong also came to welcome the New Year with him, which was quite moving for him. Recently busy with THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG) in Beijing, he revealed that he already began shooting scenes with "Jade Emperor" Chow Yun Fat. Peter awkwardly said, "I can't believe after over ten years in the business, as soon as I saw Fat Gor I seemed to forget how to act. Luckily he was very patient. He and I both like photography so I plan to ask him for some advice when I have a chance." Earlier Peter had a day off and he went to see LET THE BULLETS FLY to support his idol.

Speaking of his future, Peter said that his first film was actually Tsui Hark's THE LOVERS (LEUNG JOOK). Looking back he sighed about how quickly times flew. He honestly said, "Hong Kong films have many subjects and I started here, so I have quite a bond. I want to spend more time on the Hong Kong market. Back then when I made THE LOVERS, originally I was just an extra. Finally I caught Tsui Hark's eyes and I got a larger role, so I really want to work with him again and tell him that I am already grown!" Peter also admired Johnnie To Kei Fung a lot and jokingly wished that he would take him to the Cannes red carpet!

In 2010 Donnie Yen Chi Tan starred in three films, IP MAN 2, LEGEND OF THE FIRST THE RETURN OF CHEN ZHEN and 14 BLADES (GUM YI WAI). They performed well in Hong Kong, the Mainland, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia. IP MAN 2 in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia became the 2010 Chinese film box office champion.

At the same time, all three films made over 100 million RMB at the Mainland box office. IP MAN 2 made about 219 million, 14 BLADES made about 142 million and LEGEND OF THE FIST about 137 million. Yen Chi Tan was satisfied with last year's box office. Looking ahead to 2011, Chi Tan wished for a thriving Chinese film industry with variety. He said, "In recent years Hong Kong box office charts have belonged for foreign films. I hope in 2011 it will be balance back a little, Chinese film will be able to gain back more market share. Seeing now Chinese film's
continuously increasing quality, I have a lot of confidence."

In 2011, Yen Chi Tan will make three movies, ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL 2011 (JUI KEUNG HEI SO), Alan Mak Siu Fai's THE LOST BLADESMAN (GUAN YUNCHANG) and WU XIA. Seen as the box office miracle drug and winning Hong Kong ant Taiwan film actor of the year and the Chinese film influential figure of the year online, would Chi Tan have pressure? He said, "Of course I am happy about good box office and winning awards! However I won't give myself any pressure because of those. The pressure comes from my demands on myself. Every actor would like box office success, but film is a very special industry. Hard work and success don't
often equate. Sometimes timing, location and people matter. As long as I have done my best, I would learn to face failure in peace." Lately Chi Tan has been busy in Beijing with the film THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG). Wife Cissy Wang has gone to be with her family in the U.S. Thus the family could not be together during the holidays. He said, "In the Lunar New Year I definitely will make it up to my family."
