The Barbara Wong Chun Chun directed THE ALLURE OF TEARS (KING SING JI LUI) two days ago was released simultaneously nationwide.  Its opening day box office already reached 10 million RMB and held its own against opening big films FLOWERS OF WAR and FLYING SWORDS OF DRAGON GATE (LUNG MOON FEI GAP 3D).  Executive producer Feng Kaishuai and director Wong Chun Chun was very excited about the film's Mainland success.

Wong Chun Chun said that ALLURE was a small romance.  At first she worried that viewers would choose the traditional large production, thus the entire team promoted even harder at many major cities in hopes of attracting even more young viewers.  Thus its opening was able to hold its own against two large films.  It was a shot of confidence into the entire team.  Hopefully the film's future Hong Kong release will perform well as well.  One of the lead actresses Gigi Leung Wing Kei happily said, "Everyone said that I was lucky.  I too hoped to be able to bring my luck to this film so it would perform better and better at the box office.  If it will pass 100 million, I will treat everyone to dinner.  Executive producer Daniel will take everyone on vacation to celebration."

[2011.12.15] AARIF RAHMAN CATCHES UP WITH ZHOU DONGYU

courtesy of takungpao.com

Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting) will have two films including THE ALLURE OF TEARS (KING SING JI LUI) and DEAR ENEMY (CHUN MUK DIK YUN) to be released during the holidays in the Mainland.  Thus Aarif in December will traverse nonstop between China and Hong Kong to participate in film promotions.

Aarif yesterday went to Hangzhou with Joe Chen Qiao-En, Gigi Leung Wing Kei and Dou Xiao to attend THE ALLURE OF TEARS global premiere press conference.  Aarif stated that in his past films his romantic segments have all been lightly touched upon, but ths film was a complete romance.  It was the first romance of his career.  Aarif said that for this type of movies he had to learn how to deliver emotions to co-stars, which was very interesting and fresh.  In addition proper communication before the shoot with co-star Zhou Dongyu was especially important.

In addition, the host asked how Aarif could cry on cue in the film.  He said that the director deserved the credit.  Before the shoot she explained the importance of this scene to him and taught him how to release his emotions.  Aarif even took the chance to catch up with Zhou Dongyu and others on this trip with hot pot casserole.  Aarif said that later Zhou Dongyu will come to promote in Hong Kong and he definitely will introduce her the beautiful Hong Kong scenery at night at the Peak.

courtesy of takungpao.com

TEARS OF FALLEN CITY (KING SING JI LUI) will be released nationwide simultaneously on December 24.  The film two days ago held the "First Tear" premiere opening ceremony in Hefei.  Director Barbara Wong Chun Chun paid a lot of attention to this film.  Not only has she protected the film with strict security but also personally attended and participated in the event with Zhou Dongyu.  Director Wong felt that making a movie was like love, only with several more feelings would it be fun.

Zhou Dongyu's two films have given people the innocent and cute impression.  After this film's screening, viewers said that in UNDER THE HAWTHORN TREE Zhou Dongyu as Jingqiu was very moving.  Two years later her acting has greatly improved, but her basic nature has not changed.  Before the screening, the organizer prepared tissues for everyone.  After the screening the tissues were all gone, because Zhou
Dongyu and Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting)'s romance made many cry on their own.

The Gigi Leung Wing Kei and Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai) starred film TEAR OF FALLEN CITY -- SECOND TEAR (KING SING JI LUI -- DAI YI DIK LUI) yesterday wrapped in Shanghai. Although this was Gigi's first film with Siu Chai, but they have known each other long ago. Siu Chai was even a guest performer at Gigi's concert so they had chemistry. Romance for them was not difficult at all. Siu Chai even jokingly blamed the director for not arranging a kiss scene for them.

Gigi this time played a violinist in the film. Director Barbara Wong Chun Chun even invited violin master Yao Jue to guest star and perform with Gigi, which added to Gigi's pressure. She even played the violin in her dream. Luckily Teacher Yao was very friendly and even praised her ability to comprehend, then Gigi was able to relax.

[2011.07.22] ZHOU DONGYU GIVES AARIF RAHMAN THE COLD SHOULDER

Gigi Leung is hospitalized with fever

courtesy of takungpao.com

The Barbara Wong Chun Chun directed Christmas tear jerker TEARS OF FALLEN CITY (KING SING JI LUI) last night held its global production start press conference in Shanghai Gong Stage. The director along with the cast including Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai), Joe Chen Qiao-En, Dou Xiao, Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting) and Zhou Dongyu attended. The other lead actress Gigi Leung Wing Kei was absent due to a fever. The director thus sat in Gigi's seat and leaned on Siu Chai.

The film will be shot entirely in Shanghai and its story was formed with "three tears". The first tear starred Zhou Dongyu and Lee Chi Ting. The director before the production began asked them to cultivate their relationship in advance in Shanghai and they have already begun to work for five days. Dongyu worked with Dou Xiao in her previous film UNDER THE HAWTHORN TREE, this time she worked with Lee Chi Ting. She said that she has been very lucky to be able to work with them and praised Chi Ting as humorous and energetic while Dou Xiao was more of a gentleman. Chi Ting said that Dongyu looked mild mannered but actually was quite mischievous. However she warmed up slowly. When they first met, after he introduced himself she did not say another word or gave any response. After a few days they were much closer. On stage Chi Ting often took the initiative to lure Dongyu into talking.

As for any chance of developing for them, Dongyu was stunned while Chi Ting said that would depend on destiny. Was she his type? He said that he could not say whether this was the type. Dongyu said that in the film they had a lot of fate. Dongyu in September will start at the Beijing Film Academy. Would she make less movies? She said, "This four year chance (to study) didn't come easily. Before hand preparing for the examination was very tough, so I would cherish it and center around learning."

Siu Chai in the film played someone whose life eroded his dream. Later he picked up his determination again to fulfill his dream. Everyone knew that racing was Siu Chai's dream, but in the past due to work he gave up many racing opportunities. However he decided to pick up his dream again in September and participate in a desert race. Siu Chai said, "If you have a dream but don't go after it, you would regret it. Even failure is better than nothing." In the film he and Gigi were forced to break up. Although the shoot has not officially started, the script alone brought tears to his eyes.

Qiao-En and Dou Xiao played an older woman young man couple. In real life Qiao-En honestly admitted that she has tried such a relationship, but he was only a year or two younger than her. As for any love with regret, she humorously said, "No, none of my boyfriends die." Yesterday Dou Xiao with the flu said that in real life has not have such a relationship but would not mind it.

Fiona continued, "At that time I was working on BREAK UP CLUB, during the shoot my weight was 14, 15 pounds lighter than now!" Fiona said that now she has learned to share her troubles with friends.

[2011.04.04] FIONA SIT IS WILLING TO SPLIT THE AWARD WITH JAYCEE CHAN

courtesy of takungpao.com

Fiona Sit Hoi Kei and director Barbara Wong Chun Chun earlier appeared on Cable Entertainment News program with Albert Au Wing Kuen and Cheng Man. Sit Hoi Kei dissected her on and off screen relationship with Jaycee Chan (Fong Cho Ming). She revealed that they argued everyday. On the program she thanked the director, the producer and Fong Cho Ming in advance. Wong Chun Chun also stated that she was interested in a sequel with both.

Sit Hoi Kei with BREAK UP CLUB (FUN SAU SHUET OI NEI) has been nominated for the Best Actress Hong Kong Film award. Albert asked whether Fiona was confident about winning. Fiona lightly said, "I wouldn't think too much, as soon as I do I would get nervous. I should enjoy that process." Wong Chun Chun said, "Actually I treat the nomination like I already won." Fiona on the program gave a preview of her thank you speech. She said that this film was her personal turning point. She not only thanked the director and the producer for giving her a chance, but also particularly mentioned that she thought Fong Cho Ming deserved a nomination. "If I won, I definitely would saw the award in half to give to Fong Cho Ming. I imagined if another actor played this character, no one else would be able to create this type of spark with me. So I was very disappointed about his lack of nomination too." Fiona revealed that when she and Fong Cho Ming were together, 9 out of 10 minutes they were arguing. "Fong Cho Ming said that arguing was an art, I disagreed. He said, 'This is art!'" Fiona also denied that she was dating Cho Ming.

Jennifer Tse Ting Ting two nights ago with BRUCE LEE MY BROTHER won the Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild's New Actor silver prize. She thanked Manfred Wong (Man Jun) and director Raymond Yip Wai Man, as well as everyone for their support. She said, "This is a support. Many people have heard of my name because my entire family is in the movies. They feel I would have this gene. I am not certain that I have it or not, but definitely will work hard from a blank slate until I know how to." Ting Ting said that originally she was going to attend a celebration of a friend who will wed soon, but she had to take time to accept the award. As for her boyfriend Andy On Chi Kit and her, she said, "Since everyone ask so many times, we really have to have a serious talk." Ting Ting said that most of her friends were married with children. Earlier she borrowed her brother Nicholas Tse Ting Fung's son Lucas to attend a friend's gathering. She liked children very much and might be even crazier after having one.

Does Ting Ting's boyfriend like children? She said, "Earlier when we played with Quintus (Tse Ting Fung's second son), my boyfriend just held him up in the air. Suddenly Quintus threw up on his wrist, he was laughing and tumbling as he asked the maid to take care of him. You can imagine whether he likes children. Mommy (Deborah Li) told me to save this video."

Joyce Cheng Yun Yi two nights ago not only host the event with Barbara Wong Chun Chung and Derek Kwok Chi Kin but also performed two songs. She dedicated WITH LOVE to Sammo Hung Kam Bo who won an award. Yun Yi joked that she would recommend herself to directors for movies and said that she wanted to play a bitch. She thought that she could play very mean.

To honor local film industry professionals, the 17th Hong Kong Film Critic Society Award was presented yesterday at the Hong Kong Film Archive. Best Actor Teddy Robin Kwan and Best Actress Miriam Yeung Chin Wa both accepted their awards in person. Chin Wa dressed up to accept her first film honor. When she accepted the award from Johnnie To Kei Fung she was so touched that she was teary eyed.

Earlier the event has already announced the winners. Yesterday many winners including Ivy Ho (On Sai), Su Chao-Pin, Lam Ka Tung, Teddy Robin, Yeung Chin Wa attended. The event also asked To Kei Fung to be the special guest presenter. First time Best Actress Yeung Chin Wa dressed up for the occasion and became the media focus. When she accepted the Best Actress award she was tearfully touched. Chin Wa said, "I don't have any reason to be so scared, so excited! Beyond scared! I have to thank Ms. (Elaine) Lok, Brother (Lawrence) Tan and (Barbara) Wong Chun Chun!" After settling down, she said, "I am very glad to have a long road ahead, I still have room for improvement! I am very happy that the event recognized my actor identity!" She also took the chance to promote and said, "Actually I am not expensive, we can meet in person to negotiate!" Chin Wa later admitted that she had no idea about why she was teary eyed. She said, "I don't know why I was so excited even though I knew the result in advance! I never imagined accepting the award from To Sir's hands, I hoped to have more chances to act from now on!" As for taking the chance to make opportunities, Chin Wa honestly said that on many occasions the negotiations were secret. She said, "If I run into a good script and company idea I would do the same! (Would you work for free?) If the company doesn't take a commission then I can!" She smiled and said that she planned to bring the award to bed. Was she confident about the Hong Kong Film Award? She said, "I never thought about winning! The nomination was already more than enough!"

In addition, Best Actor Teddy Robin won his first film award in Hong Kong, which he was very satisfied. He said, "I don't act much, over the years I have only 20 some movies. I worked behind the scene more. However this victory is cherished, it is unexpected!" As for the Hong
Kong Film Award Best Supporting Actor nomination, he said that the company enrolled him into the competition. Teddy Robin said, "In the film I can be Lead or Supporting Actor. Hong Kong Film Award is industry recognized so I hope for even better opportunities, but the nomination is
already a victory for me!" He said that GALLANTS (DA LUI TOI) boss Andy Lau Tak Wa will treat them to dinner to celebrate.

Fiona Sit Hoi Kei and Sam Lee Chan Sam yesterday attended an athletic brand event. Recently Fiona with BREAK UP CLUB (FUN SAU SHUET OI NEI) won the Vietnam Film Festival Best Actress. She was very happy but already spent money before celebrating as she had to treat co-workers for dinner on her own.

Fiona earlier worked on the television series PAINTED SKIN in Hengdian. She was unable to personally accept the Vietnam Film Festival Best Actress award and director Barbara Wong Chun Chun accepted it on her behalf. She said that when she found out she was in her Hengdian hotel room. At the time she was very excited but did not know who she should share the news with. Finally she rolled around for hours in bed before falling asleep. Jaycee Chan (Fong Cho Ming) also sent her a congratulation text message but she said she has not celebrated yet. The

[2010.10.29] KATE TSUI SUPPORTS RAYMOND LAM'S IMPROVEMENT

courtesy of on.cc

courtesy of takungpao.com

Kate Tsui Tsz Shan yesterday attended a Xbox 360 new dance game event. Reportedly Mona Fong Yat Wa wrote Shaw executive Wong Ka Hei, who said at the new Shaw film PERFECT WEDDING (PO PO CHIU GAI YUN) event that Raymond Lam Fung had no film market and thus the film THE JADE AND THE PEARL (FEI CHUI MING JU) only made 3.15 million. Tsz Shan who worked with Lam Fung in PERFECT disagreed. She said that Lam Fung's acting is improving and as far as she knew PERFECT was performing decently at the box office.

However, even the director Barbara Wong Chun Chun earlier criticized television artists for having no film sense when making movies. Tsz Shan honestly said that she and Wong Chun Chun have discussed the subject and believed that the media misunderstood her meaning. She said, "Chun Chun has confidence in us, otherwise why would she ask us to make the movies? Hopefully I will have a chance to work with her again. (Was your confidence shaken?) No, I will accept all criticism and make myself perform better in the future."

[2010.10.23] FIONA SIT WINS HER FIRST BEST ACTRESS AWARD IN VIETNAM

courtesy of takungpao.com

The film BREAK UP CLUB (FUN SAU SHUET OI NEI) had an excellent box office performance and word of mouth during its June release, lead actress Fiona Sit Hoi Kei's performance in the film caught attention. Two days ago at the Vietnam International Film Festival she won the Best Actress award, Sit Hoi Kei's first Best Actress award. She was incredibly excited but because she was working in the Mainland she was unable to accept the award in Vietnam. Director Barbara Wong Chun Chun accepted the award on her behalf. Chun Chun said that she was very happy about Sit Hoi Kei's award and hoped that she will continue to work hard in film and demonstrate her potential.

In BREAK UP CLUB Sit Hoi Kei and Jaycee Chan (Fong Cho Ming) played a couple. In the film they often fought over something minor and broke up. Fong Cho Ming even used an internet site power to hold on to her. Sit Hoi Kei in the film needed to perform the sweetness when in love with her boyfriend, the conflict when faced with a third party and the sadness from the sudden end to the romance. Her performance has won many viewer tears during its release.

The film PERFECT WEDDING (PO PO CHIU GAI YUN) two nights ago held a premiere. Aside from producer Lawrence Cheng Tan Shui, director Barbara Wong Chun Chun and leads Raymond Lam Fung, Miriam Yeung Chin Wa, Chrissie Chau Sau Na, Kate Tsui Tsz Shan and Mak Ling Ling, guests included Wong Ka Hei, Elaine Lok Yi Ling, Peter Lam Kin Ngok, Raymond Wong Pak Ming, Michael Tse Tin Wa, Lily Ho Ngo Yi, Wong Cho Nam and Toby Leung Ching Kei.

Ah Tan at the premiere revealed that Chin Wa's husband Real Ting Chi Ko also came in support. She immediately looked all over for him and said, "I didn't know he would come, so horrifying!" Chin Wa was arranged to carry a heart shaped sign that said "two in three years" and jokingly
asked Mak Ling Ling whether she would be successful? Master Mak joked, "Not just two in three years, you can have three in two years!" Chin Wa giggled and asked, "Master, do you know what is my age?" Later Chin Wa was asked to toss the bouquet, which landed on the arrow that said over 100 million box office. Lam Fung honestly said that he would like the film to have 15 million at the box office. He knew that the film had good reviews and box office after its Singapore and Malaysia release. Since the Mainland market opened, many Hong Kong artists' value skyrocketed. Lam Fung honestly said that he did not know how much his salary was. As
long as Ms. Lok took the job for him, he would do it.

Although Chin Wa has completed her concert and film promotion, her husband was still in charge of their wedding because in late October she would have to leave Hong Kong. However she has already tried her wedding gown. Would she need to lose more weight? She said, "No, if I get any thinner I would have to 'push up bone'! (You can enlarge your breasts before marriage?) I am several decades old so I won't mess with that. However a slimming company asked me to respresent it, I worried that I would gain the weight again. This way would have a lot of pressure." Chin Wa received many sponsorships, including the wedding gown and wedding banquet items. However she would like boss Lam Kin Ngok to sponsor a real estate property. She is already living with her mother in law and joked that she did not need to worry about pipe bursts. Earlier with the air conditioner was leaking, her mother in law knew to call for repair and she felt very lucky. However was she worried about living together would be harder? She said that she has been in the industry for years and had enough intelligence and maturity to handle it.
Chin Wa due to an early flight today had to go home and rest right after the premiere. She did not watch the film or attend the after party. Instead Ting Chi Ko went to see the movie with his mother and also attended the party for his wife. He even stole Lam Fung's thunder. Ting Chi Ko said that Chin Wa did not know that he would come to support her. How did watching his wife and Lam Fung's intimate scene felt? He awkwardly laughed, "I felt a little strange so I would press the mobile phone to divert my attention, but she is a good actress. Her performance is very open and natural." Would he keep Chin Wa from intimate scenes? He joked, "Make martial art films! (Aren't you afraid of injuring her?) She has studied kung fu, it's no big deal!"

[2010.10.14] MIRIAM YEUNG AND RAYMOND LAM DID ALL THEIR HOMEWORK

Did this kiss scene between Miriam Yeung Chin Wa and Raymond Lam Fung make her husband Real Ting Chi Ko jealous?

courtesy of mingpao.com

Miriam Yeung Chin Wa's husband Real Ting Chi Ko was jealous when he said that he did not want to see her new film PERFECT WEDDING (PO PO CHIU GAI YUN). In the film Chin Wa and Raymond Lam Fung had many kiss scenes. How intense were they? Yesterday the kiss scene photos were unveiled. After working together on the TVB series A TASTE OF LOVE (MEI MEI CHING YUEN) 9 years ago, they reunited for the film PERFECT WEDDING. Although during the shoot Chin Wa was already married to Ting Chi Ko, she was very professional. In the film she had an older woman, younger man relationship, many bed scenes and kiss scenes. She did all of her homework and was in character. Director Barbara Wong Chun Chun mentioned that in one bar scene, they drank and flirted and drank more and more. They completely had the reluctant to part feeling of a couple in love. Thus the director felt that Ting Chi Ko after watching might truly be jealous and no longer permit Chin Wa to work on another film.

Raymond Lam Fung, Kate Tsui Tsz Shan, Anke Bui On Kei, Oceana Zhu Xuan, Pierre Ngo Ka Nin and others yesterday promoted their film PERFECT WEDDING (PO PO CHIU GAI YUN). Yesterday was October 10, 2010, known as the perfect ten lucky day. 10 newlywed couples were invited to the event. Lam Fung said that he would like to choose a special day for his wedding in the future, but because work has been too busy he believed scheduling would not be easy. He also said, "Earlier I have seen wedding photos overseas look very pretty at a wedding shop, so I would like to shoot wedding photos overseas in the future too."

Due to the film's lead actress Miriam Yeung Chin Wa concert performances, the promotion responsibility lay with lead actor Lam Fung alone. "Chin Wa's concert is even greater promotion for the film. Tonight I will be her guest performer and sing her song. Producer (Lawrence) Cheng Tan Shui even asked me to promote this movie no matter what." he said that he had confidence in the box office because viewer responses were great after the screening. This character was a new attempt for him and he hoped viewers would be able to accept him.

Lam Fung just promoted in Wuhan. He revealed that he has been working on his new film WHITE SNAKE (BAK SEH JUEN) there. Although he did not have too many action scenes, he still had "wire" work so both his arms were bruised. He also said that in the film he had scenes with Jet Li (Lee Nin Kit) and compliment him as a nice guy.

Tsui Tsz Shan in the film played a "sister" of Yeung Chin Wa, Teresa Mo Shun Kwan and others. They were all professionally successful "leftover women", so their costumes were very pretty and stylish. Did she use her own clothes? She said, "Sure, I borrowed a few dresses to dress up a little so I can truly flaunt in the film."

[2009.05.25] JAYCEE CHAN CANNOT HANDLE INTIMATE SCENES WITH FIONA SIT

The reality film BREAK UP CLUB's new actor audition took place yesterday. Director Barbara Wong Chun Chun, producer Lawrence Cheng Tan Shui and the leads Jaycee Chan (Fong Cho Ming) and Fiona Sit Hoi Kei attended. Film company representative Chung Won On was also present. The film would start production on June 1. Yesterday 100 participants took place in the audition, one even performed a break up scene with Cho Ming and Fiona. Rumored couple Cho Ming and Fiona reunited for this collaboration, naturally they became the targets. Director Wong Chun Chun yesterday revealed that when she first approached Fiona about the film, she said that if Cho Ming would take the role she would too. Fiona looked embarrassed and denied it with laughter; however, this collaboration this time would not resemble 2 YOUNG (JO SHOOK). Instead they would have to bungee jump together.

Later when they talked about this challenge they immediately tried to push the responsibility to the other. Cho Ming jokingly said to Fiona,"You jump, I jump!" Cho ming was very resistant to any intimate scene together. He was afraid that his heart would not be able to take it and would ask the director to reduce intimate scene. Cho Ming would also be a photographer as well as an actor for the film.

The film's subject was break up. Would they interpret their break up experience? Cho Ming said that he had some experience but actually this was not a tragic film. Thus he would not be excessive. He frankly said that when he was 18 he was "dumped"; Fiona would not put her experience in the film. Were they "under order" to date this time? Fiona immediately nervously expressed no and stressed there was no "order". During the interview they often traded jabs and flirted.
