Jiang Wen with LET THE BULLETS FLY won the Most Outstanding Director and The Most Recommended Film.  He said that winning an award in Hong Kong was a little strange, he would never imagine that he would win two.

Stephen Fung Tak Lun revealed that he is working on the film TAI CHI trilogy.  The first two installments have already been completed.  Speaking of Keanu Reeves' MAN OF TAI CHI, he felt that with one being modern and the other costume they had no conflict.  He hoped for a summer release.  He also revealed that his company with Daniel Wu (Ng Yin Cho) is planning a racing film with Derek Yee Tung Sing as its director.    "Ng Yin Cho and I both will perform.  (Will you fight over the lead?)  Let him have it, I will help with the camera!"

Teddy Robin Kwan earlier with MERRY GO ROUND won the Best Actor award at the Golden Koala Chinese Film Festival in Sydney Australia.  Ella Koon Yun Na also won Best Actress with the film.  MERRY GO ROUND director Clement Cheng Si Kit two nights ago welcomed him at the airport and presented flowers to wish him well.

Teddy Robin two nights ago with Susan Shaw Yam Yam flew from Australia to Guangdong then to Hong Kong.  This time Teddy defeated LET THE BULLETS FLY's Chow Yun Fat and Ge You, which he admitted was quite surprising.  Because he was nominated with both GALLANTS (DA LUI TOI) and MERRY GO ROUND, at first he thought he won with GALLANTS.  Teddy Robin pointed out that MERRY was about charity organization Tung Wah hospitals' history.  He was very happy to win with this film.  How would he celebrate?  Teddy said that the airline did not have a direct flight back to Hong Kong.  They had to transfer in Guangzhou and finally waited 15 minutes before departure.  Now he would not go home and rest the most.

Yesterday Teddy appeared on a radio interview, Best Actress Koon Yun Na called the station as well.  Ella said that due to a television series she could not accept the award in person, which she regretted.  She saw photos of Teddy with the award and wanted to touch the award soon.  She thanked the cast and the crew, everyone had a lot of fun working together.  Of course most importantly she had to thank Teddy.  In the film they had many scenes together and she thanked him for his guidance.  Later she would like to celebrate with everyone when she would have the chance.  Teddy praised Ella's performance as very natural, her eyes knew how to act.  He even revealed that he has seen Ella's boyfriend and they even jammed together.

The Golden Horse Award has come to an end.  One of the jury members Sylvia Chang (Cheung Ngai Ga) stated that this year's judging process was fair and sensible.  Most of the jury did not know the final result.  The longest discussion was for the "Best Director" award, after three rounds of vote Ann Hui On Wa edged out LET THE BULLETS FLY's Jiang Wen and WARRIORS OF THE RAINBOW: SEEDIQ BALE's Wei Te-Sheng.  The second high scorer for Best Actress was Shu Qi, and Best Actor Andy Lau Tak Wa narrowly beat Ge You.

Ko Chen-Tung won the Best New Performer.  Cheung Ngai Ga said, "The New Performer award passed with one round, relying on the actor's strength and performance."  Back stage she praised Eddie Peng Yu-Yen for his infinite potential, only that this year's Best Actor competition was too strong.  As for Best Feature Film SEEDIQ BALE, Korean jury member Lee Chong-Dong said that the film won due to its inspiration for national films worldwide.

Mainland Best Actress Qin Hailu was nominated for Best Actress but finally won Best Original Screenplay.  Before presenting the award to herself, she joked on stage that the Golden Horse had a conspiracy.  Yet when director Fruit Chan Gor announced her name, she was very surprised.  She joked, "If you knew I really would win, I wouldn't have said that!"

Famous action director Sit Chun Wai passed away on July 17th at the age of 49. Yesterday a memorial was held in Shatin. Her good friend Stanley Tong Kwai Lai helped him with the event and gave an eulogy in memory of him.

Sit Chun Wai worked as a stunt coordinator for nearly 30 years and worked on many famous films like POLICE STORY, RUMBLE IN THE BRONX, SHAOLIN SOCCER, LET THE BULLETS FLY. The Hong Kong Performing Artistes Guild and Hong Kong Stuntman Association assisted with his affairs. When he talked about his late friend he broke down in tears. He said that the news of Sit Chun Wai's passing was very sudden, so far he remained emotional. In his eyes Sit Chun Wai was very happy and handsome, he performed on screen before. In the 90s they worked together a lot and even went to Hollywood together. Sit Chun Wai earlier participated in LET THE BULLETS FLY. He sighed that Sit Chun Wai's dream was to direct, but at the prime of his career he suddenly passed away. He would always remember him. The 11th Chinese Film Media Award two nights ago took place in Macau. Ge You with LET THE BULLETS FLY won Best Actor. Best Actress went to CROSSING HENNESSY's Tang Wei. The stars after the ceremony attended a post party.

Also winning the "Hundred Media Salute Filmmaker of the Year" Ge You was in a decent mood after winning two awards and thought that making three movies in a row was not a wasted effort. However he stated that he would never make three movies in a year again because it truly was too tough. Would he either ask for more salary or time to rest and enjoy life? Ge You said, "I leave salary for them to discuss, I for now don't have any plan. I am just living, being an actor is waiting for chances." "Viewer's Choice Most Eye Catching Actor" winner Huang Xiaoming said that he of course was happy about winning, but he did not call anyone to share the joy. Would he call girlfriend Angelababy? Huang Xiaoming said, "I still haven't had the time." In recent years they have been busy on their own, did they have very little time to see each other? Huang Xiaoming said, "We won't until the new film."

Fiona Sit Hoi Kei won the "Viewer's Choice Most Eye Catching Performance". She thought this was a great encouragement. Was she disappointed that she did not win Best Actress? Sit Hoi Kei said, "No because usually big productions would win. We already treat the nomination like a victory. I won't compare myself with others." On stage she shared her joy with Jaycee Chan (Fong Cho Ming). She said, "Fong Cho Ming is a good co-star, finding a compatible actor is very great. In my film career so far I am the most compatible with him." In addition Director Doze Niu Chen-Zer with MONGA won the Best New Director award. He honestly said, "I am a veteran filmmaker, I don't know why I would win a new director award. Yet seeing Teacher Jiang Wen's victory I feel very fulfilled. My luck with awards hasn't been good."

Would Director Doze ask for a raise? He humorously said, "Usually I am the boss, I would only charge less!" He is preparing for his new film LOVE and will work with Ethan Juan (Yuen King Tin) and Mark Chao (Chiu Yau Ting). Because the story will revolve around love, he believed that they will be more relaxed than when they worked on MONGA. Although he thought that they were tired of each other but destiny always put them together. Due to his decent relationship with Carina Lau Ka Ling, he joked that earlier while he was in Hong Kong he dined with her.
