[2012.03.10] ANDY LAU AVOIDS QUESTIONS ABOUT HIS WIFE

The film A SIMPLE LIFE (TOH JEH) two nights ago held a charity premiere.  Aside from director Ann Hui On Wa, leads Andy Lau Tak Wa, Deanie Ip Tak Han, Anthony Wong Chau Sun, Felix Wong Yat Wa, Chik Mei Chun, Kent Cheng Juk Si and others appeared.  During the period, Wa Jai received three local banks' commemorative currency from the sponsor with the number 00927 -- Wa Jai's September 17th birthday date.

Two nights ago was the March 8 Women's Day, Sister Deanie revealed that before the premiere she had marzipan to celebrate.  As for Wa Jai, he said that since he was not a woman he did not need to celebrate.  What about his wife?  He said that she did not either.  His pregnant wife has been caught on camera frequently.  She also had two bodyguards with her.  Wa Jai only said, "Thank you everything, our lives are great.  (Are you
angry?)  No problem.  (Will the bodyguards protect you?)  Our lives are great.  thank you thank you."  Speaking of his wife switching doctors, Wa Jai immediately said that he did not want to discuss this subject.

Since the film has officially been released, would he arrange for his wife to watch it?  Wa Jai did not know how to answer and later joked that he has not thought so in depth.  Would his wife support him?  He awkwardly laughed and nodded.  Should his wife watch comedy to remain cheerful?  Wa Jai said, "You guys are great.  (Are you afraid that it's too touching?)  That isn't convenient yet!"

At this time Sister Deanie changed the subject to save Wa Jai and said that yesterday she and Wa Jai promoted separately.  Wa Jai went to Taiwan while she went to Malaysia.  As for their future jobs, Sister Deanie said that she was waiting for Wong Jing.  Wa Jai joked, "She has to work on SWEET SISTER PEACH MATURES 33D, I read it in the newspaper!"  After laughing together, Sister Deanie said that she had to read the script first before considering.  However she still has not received Wong Jing's call.  How sexy will she be?  Wa Jai joked that if it was artistic she could consider it.  Sister Deanie mischievously said, "I feel I am
very sexy!  (Do you have 33D?)  I don't know, maybe even more!"

[2012.03.08] ANDY LAU IS CALLED A LITERARY YOUTH

courtesy of singtao.com
courtesy of takungpao.com

Although his wife is already seven months pregnant and recently even caught grocery shopping in Hong Kong, Andy Lau Tak Wa recently has been busy with Mainland promotion of A SIMPLE LIFE (TOH JEH) and could not protect his wife.  Two nights ago Wa Jai, Ip Tak Han and director Hui On Wa attended a Shanghai premiere.

Due to the extremely great A SIMPLE LIFE and numerous awards, the premiere tickets were sold out long ago.  The Shanghai stop premiere press conference attracted many reporters.  Later everyone attended the premiere.  Lau Tak Wa was both A SIMPLE LIFE executive producer and star.  In recent years Wa Jai's film releases were mostly dramatic.  A SIMPLE LIFE star Qin Hailu joked that Wa Jai was a "literary youth".  Wa Jai said, "Maybe others feel I have this type of aura.  If they say I am then I am."

Wa Jai pointed out that he invested in A SIMPLE LIFE mainly because of his promise 10 years ago to Hui On Wa.  30 years ago his first film BOAT PEOPLE (TAU BUN NO HOI)'s director was Hui On Wa.  In 2001 he said to Hui On Wa no matter when as long as she liked he would support her at whatever the cost.  Yet Hui On Wa's earlier drama would rather work with Wong Jing than Wa Jai.  Wa Jai said, "Maybe she thought I was kidding, or maybe she was afraid that I would lose money."  Wa Jai pointed out that now film and television companies are some publicly traded companies.  Projects that might lose money would be hard to approve.  This time he lowered his salary and told the bosses the investment risk at most would be 10% of the production cost.  Finally the bosses invested.  Thus Wa Jai would not be paid until A SIMPLE LIFE performed ideally at the box office.

In addition, two nights ago at A SIMPLE LIFE premiere, the 100 yuan premiere tickets were sold out in a short time and were scalped for 200 yuan.  Nicky Wu (Ng Kei Lung) said after watching A SIMPLE LIFE he was very sentimental and hoped that his fans would be able to experience this sentiment.  However he did not want everyone to spend their money so he would treat them to a screening.  Hopefully everyone would have some understanding about life after watching.

[2012.02.28] FIONA SIT WAGERS HER RING AND BEATS WONG JING

The Wong Jing directed new film MR. AND MRS. GAMBLER (LAN DOH FU DAU LAN DOH CHAI) two nights ago held a celebration.  The cast included Chapman To Man Jat, Fiona Sit Hoi Kei, Philip Ng Won Lung and director Wong Jing attended.  Wong Jing became the dealer and watched the actors make their wagers, but they only played with prop chips.  Sit Hoi Kei immediately took off her ring and said that she wanted to place a bet.  Finally she won.  Sit Hoi Kei said that the ring was worth HK$600 and wanted Wong Jing to pay up.  Finally Wong Jing was forced to give HK$100 as reward.  Sit Hoi Kei said that she did not like to gamble and revealed that the film had a good educational meaning.  To Man Jat said that Sit Hoi Kei's performance was not as sexy and attractive as the LAN KWAI FONG (HEI OI YEH PO) actresses.  Sit Hoi Kei said, "If the script requires it I would, but the intimate scene wasn't the focus.  Please ask To Man Jat not to mind.  Adding dirty elements into a comedy would only be for his own satisfaction."

The film after ten days in release made HK$5 million, which was decent.  Lead actor To Man Jat thanked the audience for the support.  He said that last year he made eight movies in one breath.  This year he would have many film scheduling clashes and competition with himself would be inevitable.  To Man Jat said, "Investors said that the response to this movie was decent and would consider a sequel."

[2012.02.27] ANN HUI AND WONG JING WERE AT ODDS

courtesy of mingpao.com

Ann Hui On Wa received in a television interview revealed that for awhile she and Wong Jing were at odds.  When Hui On Wa made SONG OF EXILE (HAT TOH CHAU HUNG), Wong Jing said, "Who would love to watch the story of a fat, old woman?" and made her very angry.  She said, "At the time the outside was fanning the flame, many hoped to see us fight.  When I was asked to respond I said, 'Wong Jing's filmmaking
attitude is improper'.  Then the headline was 'War Begins, Hui On Wa Announces She Wants To Beat Wong Jing'."

Hui On Wa later due to a Wong Jing interview in which he said the Hong Kong directors who he admired the most were Hui on Wa and John Woo (Ng Yu Sum), which made her feel sorry and she did not say anything more.  Over a year ago, Hui On Wa was looking for funding for her film THOSE ARE THE DAYS (TIN SHUI WAI DIK YUT YU YEH).  After Wong Jing read it he immediately responded, which surprised and pleased her.

[2012.02.16] CHAPMAN TO IMPERSONATES ZHANG ZIYI

courtesy of on.cc

Chapman To Man Jat in the new film MR. AND MRS. GAMBLER (LAN DOH FU DAU LAN DOH CHAI) not only dressed up as THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI)'s Tony Leung Chiu Wai but also Zhang Ziyi.  In the film To Man Jat put on a high cut dress and performed kung fu.  Although he looked the part his thick and hairy leg was also on display.  He said, "Impersonating Leung Chiu Wai is easier than impersonating Zhang Ziyi because I am not too close with Zhang Ziyi."  He also said that the shoot had fake snow.  His mouth was open the entire time and thus he ate a lot of fake snow.

In the film Wong Jing's "Jing Girl" Hu Ran appeared in a bikini.  To Man Jat also showed off his fat during the performance.  How would To Man Jat rate Hu Ran?  He said, "She has a lot of potential.  (You are lucky!)  This is the benefit of working on a Wong Jing film."

[2012.02.12] WONG JING COMPLIMENTS HIS ACTRESSES' VISION

courtesy of singtao.com
courtesy of takungpao.com

Gigi Leung Wing Kei, Xie Na, Natalie Meng Yao and Lin Miaoke two days ago attended Wong Jing's new film MARRY MR. PERFECT (GA GOR YUT BAK FUN NAM YUI) press conference.  The film has been slated for a Mainland, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia release on March 16th.  Wong Jing said that he put a lot of effort into the film and it was his first workplace romantic comedy.  Effects and comedy in it surpassed many of his previous work and ideas.  It had many comedy elements that his previous films did not have.

During the production, the cast had good news after good news.  First lead actor Ronald Cheng Chung Kei had a daughter and became the "perfect old dad"; then the three female leads Leung Wing Kei, Xie Na, Meng Yao all found their "perfect men".  Wong Jing said that he was very shocked himself.  "This film witnessed the cast's happiest moments and truly lived up to the name 'film of wonder'.  I hope this spring it will be able to deliver this wonderful force to every viewer so everyone can receive the love and happiness that they have been waiting for."

However he was a little jealous too as he wanted to observe in person whether the three female leads' "perfect men" lived up to the standard.  He often gave them trouble, which made two female leads lament and turning the target back on Wong Jing "Actually Director Wong is the real perfect man, he is both funny and rich."  Wong Jing happily said, "The perfect man standards are all different.  I in my family's eyes am the perfect man.  Our two male leads Cheng Chung Kei and (Chapman) To Man Jat) are also perfect men."  Later Wong Jing complimented Leung Wing Kei, Xie Na and Meng Yao on their vision and immediately gave away three big red pockets to congratulate them on marrying the perfect men.

[2012.02.10] CHAPMAN TO'S WIFE BLAMES HIM FOR FIONA SIT

courtesy of on.cc
courtesy of mingpao.com
courtesy of takungpao.com

The Chapman To Man Jat and Fiona Sit Hoi Kei starred MR. AND MRS. GAMBLER (LAN DOH FU DAU LAN DOH CHAI) will soon be released, as the film title implies gambling will be its selling point.  Ah Jat in the early 90s owed over 1 million and ran away to Taiwan.  No wonder he did not mind sharing his experience to make everyone understand the harm of gambling and even revealed that now when he loses he would be sore, he would only bet small for fun during the Lunar New Year.

To Man Jat and Sit Hoi Kei in MR. played gambling addict couple.  In reality Ah Jat in the 90s spent time as a gambler.  Over ten years ago due to debt collection he landed his first entertainment headline.  He remembered, "At the time I owed people a lot of money and had to run away to Taiwan.  When I returned to Hong Kong I joined ATV to make television series thinking that no one would watch.  I never expected the debt collector to see me on television and immediately called newspapers to expose my debts, which turned into headline news!"  Ah Jat admitted that back then he owed different people over 1 million in total, yet he toiled away silently at ATV and finally he slowly paid back all the debts.  Fiona was very surprised to hear her co-star's experience and could not help but say that her performance in the film was acting.  She said, "Ah Jat performed like it was a part of his everyday life, you can say he was familiar with it!  I have learned a lot from him too!"  Fiona admitted that she had no gambling knowledge.  In the film she had to intensely flip cards and learn many gambling table terms.

After many years, Ah Jat stressed that as he grew older he felt how hard it was to make money.  Thus he would not gamble again.  He said, "Back then I was only 18, I couldn't think of anything to get rich so I relied on gambling.  Now if I lose money I would be very sore!  Yet a little Lunar New Year fun was OK!"  What was Ah Jat good at?  Ah Jat complained, "I wasn't good at anything so I lost 1 million!"  He boasted that back then he has won over 1 million, thus at age 18 he already bought his life gold Rolex.  he stressed that he was the living example of gamblers.  MR.'s director was Wong Jing.  Ah Jat praised Brother Jing for still willing to make authentic Hong Kong films.  He said, "Many directors now have returned to the Mainland or make co-productions.  Brother Jing's expertise is gambling films.  When he said he would make a movie with Hong Kong film flavor, I immediately agreed!"

The Lunar New Year had many big film releases, MR. was scheduled for a post Lunar New Year release.  Was Ah Jat disappointed?  He said no, because too many films were released during the Lunar New Year."  He joked, "If you feel lost you can watch this film!"  Fiona this time worked with Ah Jat for the fifth time.  Ah Jat's wife Krystal Tin Yui Nei asked her husband not to ask Fiona again to keep from preventing her from
meeting guys.  Ah Jat said, "The Old Lady said to give Fiona more chances!"  Fiona might be over 30 soon but she still was very confident.  "I believe in destiny so I am not afraid, if I can't find a suitable mate in my life, the Lord will make arrangements!"

[2012.02.07] WONG JING TEACHES FIONA SIT TO GAMBLE

courtesy of on.cc

Chapman To Man Jat and Fiona Sit Hoi Kei in the film MR. AND MRS. GAMBLER (LAN DOH FU DAU LAN DOH CHAI) played gambling addicts who fall for each other due to owing land shark money.  After marriage they each have an affair and ended up in divorce.  In order to fight for their daughter's custody they race to quit gambling.  In reality To Man Jat also had a period of gambling addiction.  "Then I realize gambling a lot was harmful so I decided to quit.  Making this film brought back memories of my gambling past, it was a method performance."

Sit Hoi Kei had difficulty with playing a gambling addict.  Before the shoot she had to review gambling knowledge as she practiced playing mahjong and watching horse races.  She experienced the life of a gambling addict.  Director Wong Jing even taught her to "feel" mahjong tiles.  To Man Jat said, "With the gambling film king Wong Jing's personal instruction, Sit Hoi Kei has hope to become a gambling queen!"

[2011.11.23] ROSE CHAN CLAIMS BENNY CHAN AND JOE MA TURN INTO SOMEONE ELSE

courtesy of on.cc
courtesy of singtao.com
courtesy of mingpao.com
courtesy of takungpao.com

Rose Chan Ka Wun yesterday held a press conference with her manager and lawyer in response to the suspected indecent assault case with Benny Chan Ho Man and Joe Ma Tak Chung after returning to Hong Kong two nights ago.  Rose stated that Chan Ho Man and Ma Tak Chung after drinking almost became other people.

The manager spoke first and stressed that he was very angry about the unpleasantness that Chan Ka Wun encountered in Hengdian, which was a very serious indecent assault felony.  Show business should be a group of elders and enthusiastic people who build a supportive and enthusiastic about public interest image.  The manager pointed out that this case was the shame of Mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan show business, thus he felt that he had to take legal action so everyone would understand the true faces of the shameless.

Later Chan Ka Wun thanked the media for their concern.  She was very upset about the matter, making her family, master, manager and friends worry.  She said, "Lately I have been working on a movie in the Mainland.  Every time after work I would dine with the team.  That day (Timmy) Hung Tin Ming asked me to go.  Because I have worked with Tin Ming before and master is very familiar with Tin Ming's father (Sammo) Hung Kam Bo, I feel Tin Ming is someone trustworthy.  Earlier when we dined together nothing happened."  As for the night of the incident, Rose said, "That night after dinner we went for a late night snack.  Because I had to leave with Tin Ming, when he didn't leave I didn't leave.  Before he got drunk nothing happened, but afterward something like this happened.  I was very scared, I didn't know what to do.  I never imagined that two show business elders in my impression, each with their own happy families (would act like that).  I am still young, I feel that they treat me like a little sister.  I never imaged that suddenly (they) would become another person.  The situation was very chaotic, I was very scared."  At this point Rose was teary eyed, lowered her head and could not speak, as she again said that she could not react.  She said, "Although Master, my family both have reminded me to be careful, indeed this time I wasn't alert enough.  I hope that nothing like this will happen again.  From now on I would be more careful.  Here I want to say sorry to Master and my family for making them worry."

Rose's manager said that she will continue her work in Hengdian.  Although she might run into Chan Ho Man and Ma Tak Chung again, she was not worried about any further danger and did not need to avoid them.  When asked whether Rose resisted, she only nodded.  As for why she did not leave, she said, "Because at the time I really couldn't react, Tin Ming who I trusted was drunk, but I was in a strange place.  I didn't know how I could leave at the time."  Rose stressed that she was not drunk at the time.  As for how long the assault lasted and where was she touched, her lawyer said that she was not at liberty to discuss.  When asked whether Chan and Ma would be charged, the lawyer said that the police will decide who will be the plaintiff and who will be the witness.  Because Rose did not talk about the incident in detail, she was asked
whether she voiced her objection, she lightly said, "I resisted, because I just met them, this time indeed I was less alert and cautious."  After the half a hour press conference Chan Ka Wun after resting went to the Kwun Tong police station.  Around 5:10PM, the police informed the media that Chan Ka Wun has already been transported to the Tseung Kwan Ho police station for further statement.

Chan Ka Wun's master and manager Sin Kwok Lam yesterday revealed on a radio interview that Ka Wun was not in good spirits when she returned to Hong Kong two nights ago.  He also already got an understanding of the entire matter and left it with the lawyer for appropriate legal action.  He said, "I only knew at the time someone bullied her, but I didn't know to what degree.  After seeing the photos I realized how severe this was.  I was very shocked that such behavior would appear today."

Sin Kwok Lam said that due to his busy schedule he could not attend the press conference with Ka Wun yesterday.  He also revealed that Ka Wun has been crying over the matter for several days.  He also felt that she should be careful with people she met and he admitted that he has yelled at her; however Sin Kwok Lam felt that actually she was the victim.  Because at the time everyone was an elder, she did not expect something like this to take place.  Sin Kwok Lam yelled at her before looking at the photos or knowing the details.  With Ka Wun's Wing Chun background, why did she not use kung fu against them at the time?  Sin Kwok Lam said, "It's very simple.  A 19 year old girl who hasn't experienced anything like this, with two men and without any friends or family around in Hengdian, without any encounter with rapist, any training would be useless.  I asked her too why she didn't fight him off at the time, she said that at the time she was very scared and didn't know what to do."  Sin Kwok Lam and Timmy Hung Tin Ming were friends.  He said that Tin Ming afterward sent a text message to him to apologize.  As for Benny Chan Ho Man, he did not know.  However he has dined twice with Joe Ma Tak Chung.  Ma Tak Chung even very graciously asked him Master.  The party involved responded to the matter with "being hospitable" and "very minor matter", was further action taken because of it?  He said that was unrelated.  He also said that what he said did not matter, as everyone have their own eyes to see.  Sin Kwok lam also said that at the time Ka Wun tried to wake Tin Ming several times, and said that he was very strict with his disciples.  Whatever happened he would yell first and ask questions later, but this time she was the victim.

Ka Wun was working on Wong Jing's new film PRINCESS AND SEVEN KUNG FU MASTERS (SIU GUNG JUNG MO LUM), Brother Jing has not contacted Sin Kwok Lam afterwards.  He said, "Actually I have over 100 calls that I didn't take, some I knew and some I didn't so I am not at liberty to discuss that."  Has anyone called to plead for mercy?  He only laughed in response and did not directly answer.  He also said that Ka Wun just turned 19, show business must make fair criticism.  He did not hope something like this to happen to his own children and said that the matter did not involved any issue with the production and co-stars, as Chan was not a part of this film.  He was very at ease with the production and Wong Jing.  He continued, "Actually she has a bodyguard every time, but a big girl has to grow up.  It is impossible for her to just work on my movies."

As the creator of PRINCESS AND SEVEN KUNG FU MASTERS, Wong Jing was very angry about the matter.  Wong Jing yesterday blasted Chan Ho Man and Ma Tak Chung online, calling Chan Ho Man out for getting mean in opposition and Ma Tak Chung for lacking honor.  Wong Jing said, "I was away from the production for two days, I only found out about Chan Ka Wun when I got back.  Without commenting on whether they got out of hand, the two male suspects' behavior after the violation truly was eye opening.  Chan Ho Man was like the pervert who molests female students in public transportation, first he gets mean in opposition then he sees the cover photos and he plays dead.  He still is just bad in general.  Ma Tak Chung
immediately draws a line and sells out his friend for survival.  He wants to push all the responsibility onto someone else.  He absolutely deserves the '2011 diamond class no loyalty award'!"  Wong Jing laughed after seeing Ma Tak Chung's online donation comment.  "Ma Tak Chung actually says that he wants to make a donation to Tung Wah hospitals.  I am dying from laughing.  Can making a donation make everything go away?  I suggest for Tung Wah to turn down his donation."

[2011.10.20] ROSE CHAN DOES NOT WANT TO DATE YET

courtesy of singtao.com

Rose Chan Ka Hung yesterday modeled a stocking event.  Today Rose will return to the Mainland to work on two films.  First she will go to Hengdian for Wong Jing's SIU GUNG JUN MO LUM (LAUGHTER KUNG FU ROCKS MARTIAL ART WORLD), then she will go to Yunnan for the Xiong Xinxin directed GUANG HUI SUI YUE.  She will have to fight in both films and expect to wrap up both in January next year.  Would she lose extra money making opportunities?  She said, "My full time job is acting!  However I will have to reschedule some jobs that I took earlier to be done after my return."  Michelle Ye (Yip Shuen) reportedly found a boyfriend in the Mainland, would she like to?  She said, "No, I hope to focus on making movies first."  She also said that if she was dating, communication would be the most important.  Thus she would not mind the issue of geography.  Would she mind finding a Mainland boyfriend?  She said, "I mind dating myself!  Because I will turn 19 next month, I don't want to date so soon.  My birthday wish is for career and not for a boyfriend.  (Would you want a career line?)  I don't want line, the line on my hand (career line) is OK too."

[2011.10.18] WONG JING COMPLAINS ABOUT HONG KONG GHOST FILM BIAS

courtesy of mingpao.com
courtesy of takungpao.com

The film HONG KONG GHOST STORIES (MANG GWAI OI CHING GOO SI) will open on the 27th.  Yesterday the film's directors Patrick Kong (Yip Lim Sum) and Wong Jing accepted an interview.  Yip Lim Sum pointed out that the original idea was spending several hundred thousand for a poster at the Causeway Bay MTR station, but the MTR pointed out that Chrissie Chau Sau Na and Law Chung Him's "ghost looks" were too horrifying on the poster and declined.  The film company later changed the poster but was still rejected.  Finally the poster only had the film title but it was still turned down.

Wong Jing said that the MTR in the past has accepted foreign horror film advertising and this time was under Chinese film discrimination suspicion.  He hoped that the Hong Kong Film Development Council would be able to write to the MTR for standard and guidance.  Wong Jing guessed that the rejection was because the company accepted its loss, even if it did not approve it would not be in trouble.  Yip Lim Sum also said that the posters at bus stops and on buses reduced their horror level and were adjusted.  Wong Jing yesterday introduced a new Jing Girl Tong Fei and would support her in the support.  Tong Fei is a 21 year old Beijing University communications student who took part in TREASURE HUNT (MO GA JI BO) and HONG.  Later she will star in the new film SIU GUNG JUNG MO LUM (LAUGHTER KUNG FU ROCKS THE MARTIAL ART WORLD).  He hoped to turn her into the position between Angelababy and Chau Sau Na.

Ann Hui drops an award

The fresh out of the oven Best Actress Deanie Ip Tak Han two nights ago celebrated with A SIMPLE LIFE (TOH JEH) team.  As the international Best Actress, she said that her life changed a little but she has not have too many celebrations.  Did she get a raise?  She humorously said, "That would depend on whether I have to strip."

The film A SIMPLE LIFE earlier won many awards at the Venice Film Festival and even made Ip Tak Han the first Hong Kong actress to win the Venice Best Actress.  To celebration the film's good performance, two nights ago the team including director Ann Hui On Wa, Ip Tak Han, Andy Lau Tak Wa, Helena Law Lan, Paul Chun Pui and Kung Suet Fa attended the celebration.  Responsible for editing, Shi Nansun said that every time she watched A SIMPLE LIFE she would be moved to tears.  Later when they posed with the four awards for photos, Hui On Wa accidentally dropped one.

Although she has already become an international Best Actress, Ip Tak Han has not met with any friend for dinner to celebrate yet.  She only had instant noodle at home to reward herself.  Her family praised her with "good job" and "well done".  As for Wa Jai stating that he would not give her any gift, she agreed, "No need!  I don't have to be greedy, he already gave me a great opportunity."  For now no one has approached her about a movie.  Did she get a raise?  She said, "Few movies would be about seniors, I would worry about it when someone asks.  Let's see if I have to strip."  She also said that the award changed her life a little because lately the paparazzi often followed her.  Yet she was not bothered.  She only thought that they were flying over roofs and climbing over walls like lizards.  If she was their mother her heart would ache very much.

In addition, A SIMPLE LIFE will be released next year.  However in order to compete for the Golden Horse Award and the Hong Kong Film Award it will have advanced screening.  Wa Jai said that he was not
certain of the operation.  Was he confident about winning Best Actor?  He stated that he did not dare to say.  He was rumored to ask Maggie Cheung Man Yuk, Cherie Chung Chor Hung and Rosamund Kwan Chi Lam to work on a film, Wa Jai said, "I was rumored to ask Kwan Chi Lam to play Sister Peach too.  Actually of course I hope this group of backbone to make movies in front of our eyes again, but for now I haven't contacted them about movies.  I only approached them about the concert.  (Was it because their salaries were too much?)  The market decides the salary, as long as the market can withstand it then it is fine."  Would he enjoy this film with his family.  He immediately said that he would not respond to family matter.

[2011.09.20] SIMON YAM SUPPORTS HONG KONG FILM

Hui On Wa yesterday attended the Hong Kong Film Archives 100 MUST-SEE HONG KONG MOVIES press conference with directors Chiang Kwok Ming, Wong Jing, Kam Kwok Leung and others.  Each has a film that has been selected for screenings starting in October.  Among four of her selected films, Hui On Wa's favorite was THE SECRET (FUNG GIP).  Due to the good response to it she felt a little like getting rich out of the blue.  Wong Jing and his father Wong Tin Lam were selected as well.  Wong Jing honestly said that he felt the most for his father's work FATHER TAKES A BRIDE (SIU YI NUI) because at the time he was a lot of fun playing with the child actor in the film on the set.  As for his personal work, his favorite was CASINO RAIDERS (JI JUEN MO SEUNG).  GOD OF GAMBLERS (DOH SUN) was only his second choice.  Because he did not gamble, he would only invest on certain victories.  The Film Archive yesterday named Simon Yam Tat Wa the program ambassador for three years.  So far Brother Wa has made over 150 films.  He hoped that the government would actively promote the film culture so the people felt watching movie is an enjoyment.  In the future he would insist on making Hong Kong films and
support local productions.  As for these 100 films, he actually has not seen many and thus had to start.  Hui On Wa's new film won at Venice.  Brother Wa said that she was lucky for women.  Actresses who worked with her all won major awards.  Did he drool over Ip TaK Han's Venice Best Actress?  He said no and thought that she deserved to win for glory of Hong Kong.  Brother Wa also said that working with Hui On Wa was a pleasant and thought that she started to be lucky for men as well.

The Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi and Ronald Cheng Chung Kei starred film TREASURE HUNT (MO GA JI BO) two nights ago held its premiere.  With a new hairstyle Pak Chi stated that she would not accept any
interview, but on stage she and Ronald chatted and laughed.  She also said that her son Lucas did not know that he had a part in the film and even inherited her DNA to change his lines.  Director Wong Jing immediately said that after Lucas turned 18, he would make a CHASING GIRL film for him.

Speaking of Lucas' first film, Pak Chi said that her son only played himself and did not even know that he was making a movie.

Pak Chi said, "He has inherited a little of my DNA, as he likes to change lines and improvise.  Maybe he feels the screen writer isn't good enough, he didn't get a word right out of a sheet of lines."  Has Lucas asked to make movies again?  Pak Chi said, "No, maybe he doesn't have any good script."

When Director Wong Jing was asked if he felt Pak Chi promoted enough for the film, he said, "The more the better for the production of course, but I wouldn't force friends to do what they don't want to do."

Would he plan to work with Pak Chi again?  He said, "It would depend on the trend, with suitable (films) I would approach her."  Wong Jing said that since her divorce he just saw Pak Chi for the first time two nights ago, but he did not ask her about her personal life.  He said, "She is an adult.  I am considered half an uncle of hers, I don't need to deliberate say anything."

Cheng Chung Kei revealed that on July 22 he and wife Sammie Yu Si Man held a wedding registration ceremony at home.  Both wore wedding costumes.  At the time his wife was even moved to tears, but he was unwilling to reveal what vow of love he made.

Two nights ago Ronald also wore a wedding ring.  He said that their daughter was already half a month old but already exceeded the standard weight.  He worried that his daughter would need to lose weight.  Would he try for a son?  Ronald said, "I want to but not yet.  Because my wife delivered through an operation, the doctor said that it would be the best to wait a year."  As for a make up wedding banquet, Ronald said that he would like his daughter to be grown before then.  He said, "I want my daughter to learn to walk first, then she would be able to participate too."
