FULL WEEK BOX OFFICE ACTUALS and YEAR TO DATE February 13-19

Seven full weeks into 2012, domestic box office continues to run well ahead of last year's slow pace and now has moved solidly ahead of the comparable period's average for the last several years.                


The Past Week: Total Box Office Volume

All films in wide release playing between February 13 and February 19 grossed $217 million, up 20% from the same week in 2011 and up a similar percentage from the four-year average for the comparable week.  Year to date, 2012 is now running 27% ahead of 2011 and now 5% ahead of the average for the same period the last four years.
