The 3rd Macau International Film Festival presented its awards yesterday.  Rose Chan Ka Wun in the company of master Sin Kwok Lam and co-star Huang Yi received the Best New Actor award for WOMAN KNIGHT OF MIRROR LAKE.  Huang Yi also received Best Actress for the same time.  Best Actor went to Donnie Yen for THE LOST BLADESMAN (GUAN WON CHEUNG).  Irene Wan Bik Ha with 72 MARTYRS (YING HUNG DIP HUET) won Best Supporting Actress.

The film TRESPASS held a Hong Kong premiere two nights ago.  Attending artists included Irene Wan Bik Ha, Wylie Chiu Shek Chi and Sukie Shek Wing Lei.  Irene revealed that most recently with the film 72 MARTYRS (YING HUNG DIP HUET) she received a Macau International Film Festival Best Supporting Actress nomination.  She was also the film's only actor to receive a nomination.  Wan Bik Ha felt her co-stars Tse Kwan Ho and Liu Kai Chi were overlooked.

Why was Irene not nominated for Best Actress?  Irene said that the film was the Revolution, so the nomination category did not matter.  The ceremony will take place on December 7 and she will attend.  Irene said, "I truly long to win this award."  Her husband would also try to make time to go with her.  Reporters said that her adopted son was very for lucky for her.  She said, "Right, many people have said that.  Maybe he has brought luck to me."

The Tse Kwan Ho, Liu Kai Chi, Irene Wan Bik Ha starred 72 MARTYRS (YING HUNG DIP HUET) after winning the Best Picture Golden Angel Award at the 7th Chinese American Film Festival received four nominations at the 3th Macau International Film Festival 2011 for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Cinematography.  Wan Bik Ha received the Golden Lotus Best Supporting Actress award nomination.

Irene was very excited about the news.  She said that the nomination was an absolute surprise.  She also had to thank her co-stars Tse Kwan Ho and Liu Kai Chi, who made her perform even better.  The nomination could prove that the film had good word of mouth.  She also thanked everyone for their support.  The award ceremony will take place on December 7 at the Macau Venetian Golden Exhibition Center.

Irene Wan Bik Ha two nights ago attended her film 72 MARTYRS (YING HUNG DIP HUET)'s premiere.  Aside from the director Derek Chiu Sung Kei, Irene's husband and sister also attended.  Did Irene's adopted son come?  She said, "He wouldn't understand it."  Irene said that after watching the film once many memories came back to her.  Because her father was a soldier they used to live in Tiu Keng Leng, where residents were all former Kuomintang soldiers.  When they arrived no one had anything and had to start over.  She said when she was little she has heard many stories, like her mother used to have a great life but after the war she lost everything.

Irene said that this year is the 100th anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution, she thought being able to make this film was very meaningful.  She said the scene in which Tse Kwan Ho retrieved the corpses was very touching.  Would she be more selective with her roles?  She said, "I hoped to be able to make movies with depth, with emotional scenes that would be hard to forget."  She revealed that later she will have a chance to work with Donnie Yen Chi Tan on a new film.  She might have action performance.  Would she asked Chi Tan for action training?  She honestly said that she would if the need would arise, she has worked on the wire and action scenes before.

The Hong Kong film and television industry celebrates the People's Republic of China 62nd anniversary and the Chinese Film Panorama 2011 took place two nights ago.  This time the film festival will take place between October 24 to November 20 as 9 different style Mainland films will be screened.  Two of them THE PIANO IN A FACTORY director Zhang Meng and lead actor Qin Hailu and 72 MARTYRS director Derek Chiu Sung Kei and actress Irene Wan Bik Ha attended.  Other guests included the current Miss Hong Kong Rebecca Zhu and Whitney Hui, Wong Jing, Liu Kai Chi, Raymond Wong Pak Ming and Teddy Robin Kwan.

Wan Bik ha two nights ago dressed up for the occasion.  She humbly said, "OK!"  Her film MARTYRS two nights ago was screened and Monday will be the official premiere.  Will she be sexier at the premiere?  She said that she did not know yet and hoped to have pleasant surprise.  Qin Hailu two nights ago was just as sexy as Wan Bik Ha.  She said, "No, no, Miss Hong Kong is sexier than me!  Evening gowns are either low cut or bare back!  (Are you confident about your figure?)  No no."

Qin Hailu revealed that she just came to Hong Kong in March for A SIMPLE LIFE (TOH JEH).  Earlier she was approved for Quality Migrant Admission Scheme to come to Hong Kong, when will she settle down?  She said that right now she is working hard to pay taxes to the Hong Kong government.  She also said that when she applied she asked whether she needed to stay in Hong Kong for awhile, but the authorities understood that her business required her to stay with the production.  She said, "This year has truly been very busy.  I haven't even been in Beijing for too long."  Speaking of Huang Yi and Huo Siyan online war, Qin Hailu said that she was not familiar with either.  As for her own love life, she said that she did not want it to be too publicized.  The current trend was a flash wedding, would she follow suit?  She shook her head and said, "I wouldn't do it to be trendy.  One second decisions are very hard to say."

With so many filmmakers on hand, did Rebecca Zhu and Whitney Hui recommend themselves for movies?  Whitney Hui said that she would not because they were guests.  Rebecca Zhu said that she did not know about her chance to make TURNING POINT EXTREME (LAUGHING GOR ji CHIM JUI FAN).

In commemoration of the Xinhai Revolution's 100th anniversary, Zhujiang Film Group and Guangdong Zhujiang Film Industry Media Inc.'s first film 72 HEROES (YING HUNG DIP HUET) opened nationwide on September 16.

At the press conference on the 16th, Zhujiang Film Industry Media Inc. chief Zhao Jun represented Zhujiang Film Industry and shared the experience of making this Xinhai Revolution movie along with Eric Tsang Chi Wai, Irene Wan Bik Ha, Tse Kwan Ho, Liu Kai Chi, Elanne Kong Yeuk Lam and others.  At the premiere, over 2,000 viewers sold out the Zhongshan Memorial Hall and made the film the first to break 110,000 yuan   at a Guangzhou premiere and surpassed AFTER SHOCK's above 70,000 yuan record.

Although the film was about the Revolution it did not lecture.  The well disguised lines triggered viewers' thinking.  Tse Kwan Ho played Langnan artist Poon Tat Mei.  The corpse identification after the failed uprising became the entire film's emotional climax and left many viewers in tears.  Zhao Jun said that this film has already accepted the 7th Chinese American Film Festival's invitation in Los Angeles at the end of October as the first film that commemorated the Xinhai Revolution 100th anniversary to attend the film festival and would hold an U.S. premiere.

Earlier the Xinhai Revolution commemorative film 72 HEROES (YING HUNG DIP HUET) held its premiere in Guangzhou.  The film's actors Tse Kwan Ho, Liu Kai Chi, Elanne Kong Yeuk Lam, Irene Wan Bik Ha and Eric Tsang Chi Wai walked the red carpet.  TVB executive Elaine Lok Yi Ling led artists in support.  This was Kong Yeuk Lam's first historical subject film.  While promoting in Beijing, her acting received many praises.  That night Kong Yeuk Lam dressed up for the premiere.  In six inch high heels she had to withstand a lot of pain because earlier her weightlifting practice put too much weight on her waist and led to hip pain.  In high heels her pain was even more severe.  In he recent film she had to display her manly side.  She has not worn high heels in a long time, so she could not take it even after half a day.

Kong Yeuk Lam recently gained weight.  She said that after the film promotions she would lose weight.  She said that her appetite increased recently, now she still felt hungry after a bowl of rice.  Her manager has been keeping an eye on her and prohibited her from eating too much.  Speaking of playing a female revolutionary in a man's disguise, Kong Yeuk Lam said it was a lot of fun and hoped to erase her flower vase title.  She said that this subject was very serious.  When she performed she paid a lot of attention and did her homework before taking her mark.  She was the happiest to receive Best Actor Tse Kwan Ho's praise, which truly encouraged her and motivated her to work hard to play every character well.  Kong Yeuk Lam's Guangzhou fans even prepared a cake and gifts to celebrate her birthday at the end of the month in advance.  They also sang the birthday song on the spot, which touched her a lot.

In commemoration of the Xinhai Revolution's 100th anniversary, the film 72 HEROES (YING HUNG DIP HUET) yesterday held a screening and press conference in Beijing.  Attendees included Best Actor Tse Kwan Ho, Liu Kai Chi, Irene Wan Bik Ha and Elanne Kong Yeuk Lam.  Elanne who flew to Beijing to two days of promotion said that she was very happy about the rare change to work with Best Actor Tse Kwan Ho for the first time.  She said, "This time I was able to work with many veteran actors, I truly was very happy and very nervous.  Normally on the set I would sneak a peek at Brother Kwan Ho's acting.  On the set I already thought he was amazing.  When I was watching the movie just now he completely moved me, I couldn't help but cry.'  Although she cried as she watched, through this film Elanne had even deeper understanding of the Xinhai Revolution and hoped that through this film a new generation would understand its history.

Elanne also revealed that she had quite a connection with director Derek Chiu Sung Kei.  Before she joined the business, the company arranged for her to work as a production assistant on a Mainland television series.  At the time the director was Chiu Sung Kei.  Later he even gave her the chance to play a small role in the series and made her understand what acting was.  Later many opportunities followed.  The 30th would be Elanne's birthday.  During an online interview the host suddenly gave her cactus for her birthday gift.  Tse Kwan Ho, Wan Bik Ha and others also sent well wishes, which made her very happy.  She said, "I am very surprised!  I really didn't expect this, thank you very much everyone."  Her birthday wish was for this movie to introduce more people to China.  She also looked forward to its Hong Kong release and good box office very much.  The film today will be released nationwide and later will participate in the Hong Kong China Film Festival.

Alan Tam Wing Lun two days ago with Dream Girls promoted at a Shanghai shopping site event and attracted over 100 onlookers.  Alan who has never been considered productive in film has already made three films this year.  He said since 1991 he not longer guest starred.  This year he already made SLEEPLESS FASHION (YU SI SEUNG TUNG GUI), 72 HEROES (YING HUNG DIP HUET) and EAST MEETS WEST 2011 (DONG SING SAI JAU 2).  In the future he would be very busy with film promotions.
