Movie Box Review

The new film ADVENTURE OF THE KING (LUNG FUNG DIM) lead actor Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai), Bonnie Xian (Sin Sik Lai) and Kara Wang (Wong Chung Yan) yesterday went to Mongkok to meet with viewers and gave away film costume still photos. Originally scheduled to attend, Barbie Hsu (Tsui Hei Woon) due to an arm injury could not come to promote the film in Hong Kong.

With its release yesterday, 15 cinemas in the circuit welcomed viewers with a free screening. Around 3,000 viewers after obtaining free tickets at noon went to watch the film. Yam Yin Chai pointed out that the free screening would be able to attract even more viewers. "Since the film just opened, viewers who have seen this film would spread their word of mouth and increase box office. At first I wanted to go to the cinema for a peek at the audience response, but to do so I had to pass through viewers in the middle row. Instead of affecting them I kept myself from going in."

Yam Yin Chai pointed out that executive producer Jimmy Heung Wa Sing was confident in this new film, thus he planned to spread the word of mouth to attract more viewers. Yam Yin Chai stated that although he stayed in Hengdian for half a year for this film, the audience appreciation and ideal box office would be worth the effort.

Yam Yin Chai also said that he just finished the Silk Road motorcycle contest and planned to officially participate in a desert motorcycle contest to challenge himself. He would first prepare to continue work on Johnnie To Kei Fung's LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE (DUET MING GUM).

The Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai) and Barbie Hsu (Tsui Hei Woon) starred costume comedy ADVENTURE OF THE KING (LUNG FUNG DIM) will open September 16. They have known each other for awhile but it was their first collaboration. This time he had to perform the rivalry between the sassy Sister Feng and the Emperor. Siu Chai pointed out that although this time he played the Emperor, during his visit in disguise due to a series of accidents he lost his memory and became a subordinate to Big S' Sister Feng. He not only no longer had the indulgence of an Emperor but also had to suffer physical abuse. Siu Chai pointed out that Big S' character was sassy and violent, often punching and kicking him. She even used a cane. Big S at first did not dare to hit hard, but for a more realistic result Siu Chai asked her to go ahead. However actually he was in so much pain he was screaming inside.

Siu Chai pointed out that the toughest scene was being paraded down the street after a villain set him up. In the scene he was trapped inside a prisoner cart as the people continuously threw items at him. Vegetables and tomatoes were fine, but eggs were the worst. Egg shells turned out to be very hard, when they landed on the face they hurt a lot; in addition raw eggs had a very bad smell. Finally he took over three baskets of eggs and after the shoot he face was all sticky and stinky.

The costume romantic comedy ADVENTURES OF THE KING (LUNG FUNG DIM) will be released on August 19. Director Chung Shu Kai along with Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai), Gong Xinliang and others promoted in Shenzhen. The film was Hong Kong film professional Jimmy Heung Wa Sing's second investment after FLIRTING SCHOLAR 2 (TONG BAK FU DIM CHAU HEUNG 2). Before its release, it has already been selected as the "most likely to be rotten movie". Lead actor Yam Yin Chai expressed his displeasure. "The movie hasn't been released yet, the internet criticism is very irresponsible and very unfair. I am confident that it can answer to the ticket buying viewers." Yam Yin Chai even boasted that ADVENTURES OF THE KING was a classic film that could stand the test of time, like SUMMER HOLIDAY (HA YUT MOR MOR CHA) and FLY ME TO POLARIS (SING YUEN) it could become one of his representative work. As for his future plans, Yam Yin Chai said, "My idol is Chow Yun Fat. I hope I will be able to reach his height and try a variety of different characters." Yam Yin Chai talked about where the film was touching for him. "This is not just a simple comedy, without any pure prank elements in it. Mr. Pan Changjiang and Law Kar Ying are a pair of North and South comedy team. Each has his own way to express northern and southern comedy, which is also a bright spot for this film."

Yam Yin Chai also compared MR. BEAN to ADVENTURE OF THE KING and felt that this film like some foreign comedy used its own way and language to tell everyone something funny, which was already very well done. This film's target was to make the target market people happy, not praise from everyone. Yam Yin Chai looked like he just woke up and revealed that he has been visiting different cities and trained in motor sport. He even showed the blisters on his hands to everyone. Yam Yin Chai was training for a trip on the Silk Road. The entire trip would be recorded and turned into a documentary.

The film ADVENTURE OF THE KING (LUNG FUNG DIM) held its official site launch and its final poster unveiling ceremony. Director Chung Shu Kai along with actors Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai), Barbie Hsu (Tsui Hei Woon), Huo Siyan attended. The film theme song creator Siu Chung also made an appearance. THe event showed the Yam Yin Chai and Big S film theme song music video HEART LIVER BABY (SUM GONG BO BUI), Big S who has not released a record in a long time pointed out that she thanked Yam Yin Chai the most for his encouragement for this performance.

Big S had nothing but praise for Siu Chai. She praised Siu Chai as very nice and very attentive. People often asked why Big S was not married and what kind of person she liked, she joked that because the person who she would like to marry is already married and that person was Siu Chai. Big S also was a popular star on the micro blog, which she rather enjoyed as a means to share her life with fans. Big S pointed out that she had a ruler in her heart and would write things that her audience would like. Anything too sad or too serious that would upset the audience she would not write.

Big S earlier told Angelababy could get her number from Huang Xiaoming when she wen to Taiwan, seemingly exposing their relationship. When asked whether she had Huang Xiaoming's permission before posting the message, she expressed that she indeed was sorry about this and later explained to them. Both were very forgiving.

The August 19 costume comedy release ADVENTURE OF THE KING (LUNG FUNG DIM) recently published stills of actress Huo Siyan in a male disguise. Huo Siyan looked very heroic and during the costume fitting she even raised her fan and jokingly made a pose, "Do I look like Tang Bohu? Let me show you my Huang Xiaoming trademark smile!"

In ADVENTURE OF THE KING, Huo Siyan plays a talkative princess who often conducted lengthy "language harassment" of her brother the King, Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai). This was also her first comedy film. Huo Siyan said, "This character is very different from my past silver screen image. She is just as talkative as the Veritable Tang Monk in THE CHINESE ODYSSEY, basically her mouth never stops. The character's movement, expression, voice and speech have to be very fast, very high, very exaggerated." Huo Siyan said that every time she delivered her lines she felt like she was almost out of breath. "Not only do I have to talk fast, my expression and physical movement also have to have a comedy feel. Basically I have to give my all to the performance." Yet this earned her the compliment of "cute little shrew" from Yam Yin Chai. The director also expressed that Siyan absolutely was the female lead in the first 20 minutes of the film. After watching the entire film her character left a deep impression with people, the performance was brilliant.

Actually her comedy filled performance was due to Law Kar Ying. Law Kar Ying expressed that in this film he taught Huo Siyan everything he knew. Huo Siyan replied that Law Kar Ying also taught her a little secret, to have a few sips of wine to warm up before delivering a lot of lines. The feeling afterward mobilized the entire body and the mind was be particularly clear. No matter how complicated the lines were they would be no problem.
