[2012.03.06] DONNIE YEN PLOTS FIGHT WITH ANDY ON

courtesy of on.cc

Vincent Zhao Wenzhou and the film DUT SHU SUN FUN (SPECIAL IDENTITY) ended their collaboration.  Two days ago they even traded accusations.  The team is asking Andy On Chi Kit to replace Zhao Wenzhou.  Producer and action director Donnie Yen Chi Tan yesterday met with On Chi Kit to discuss the script details.

Lord Tan already knew about the team's statement two days ago but still felt it was sudden.  He hoped the matter would come to an end to avoid damage to both sides from further entanglement.  He said, "I am very disappointed to see the situation now and not be able to work with Zhao Wenzhou, hopefully we will have another chance later."

Lord Tan's spokesperson Ms. Cheung said that Lord Tan and On Chi Kit's meeting went smoothly and that Lord Tan has been meeting with the team without any sleep or rest to tailor the character and design action scenes for On Chi Kit.  In the film they will have a ten minute long fight scene, which hopefully will be able to display On Chi Kit's martial art action potential.

Vincent Zhao Wenzhou recently was accused of acting like a big shot and rejected to accept the Donnie Yen Chi Tan produced film DUT SHU SUN FUN's work notice.  His manager and the production both have issued statements, both sides with their own perspectives.  Zhao Wenzhou yesterday attended a press conference with his wife Zhang Danlu to further clarify this issue.  At the event Zhao Wenzhou also issued a statement about the production dispute with his own signature at the bottom.  Zhao Wenzhou said that recently some media's untrue reporting has already created damage to his his personal social value, solemnly he read the
prepared statement.  He said that he dissolved the contract with the production because of the other party's contract content changes without authorization.  Zhao Wenzhou's lawyer also issued a statement that any behavior that would damage Zhao Wenzhou's reputation, image and other legal rights would result in legal action.

The statement pointed out that recent reports of Zhao Wenzhou's arrogance were severely untrue and confusing.  They not only misdirected the public but also damaged his personal social value.  Thus he clarified, first the termination of the collaboration was due to party A, the production team's contract violation and changing the contract content without authorization.  Secondly, currently he has returned to Beijing due to party A ripping up the contract and discontinuing the collaboration, thus he no longer needed to continue to stay at the production location.  Finally, he wanted to say that everything he has said above was true.  If this matter has any new development he will inform everyone.

Earlier reports claimed that Vincent Zhao Wenzhou was upset over the Donnie Yen Chi Tan produced film DUT SHU SUN FUN's script changes and declined to accept work notices.  Since then, Zhao Wenzhou's
management company issued a statement to deny the matter and even sited that the reports impacted his image.  However, producer Yen Chi Tan yesterday through his spokesperson Ms. Cheung responded to the matter in a different tune.  Ms. Cheung said, "Zhao Wenzhou is an actor who Yen Chi Tan admires.  At first it was Chi Tan's suggestion to ask Zhao Wenzhou to perform.  Thus when Chi Tan on the 24th learned from the producer that Zhao Wenzhou refused to accept any work notice, they contacted Zhao's manager (Terence) Chang Ka Chun together to attempt to persuade Zhao Wenzhou.  Unfortunately the mediation failed.  Chi Tan doesn't want to see the current situation but Chi Tan at the same time respects the team and the investors' decisions for the greater good."  Will they look for another actor to take Zhao Wenzhou's role?  Ms. Cheung said, "Chi Tan said that the team is meeting to discuss that, conceivably an announcement will be made later."

Recent reports claimed that Vincent Zhao Wenzhou was upset at script changes and refused to work on the Donnie Yen Chi Tan produced and starred film DUT SHU SUN FUN (SPECIAL IDENTITY).  The report also said that Yen Chi even called Zhao Wenzhou personally but did not receive any response, and Zhao Wenzhou refused to accept any work order.  Yesterday Zhao Wenzhou's company issued a statement to the media to clarify the matter.  Zhao Wenzhou was not upset at the DUT SHU SUN FUN team.  Any script change would require actor agreement, which was written into the contract and was an industry rule.

The statement also said that Zhao Wenzhou did not pack up and return to Beijing as reported but has always been on the Shenzhen set.  The statement said that the report has not been confirmed with anyone on
the team and was pure speculation.

The report also mentioned that Zhao Wenzhou acted like a big shot with seven assistants.  The statement said that Zhao Wenzhou did not have seven assistants around him and that this report has created negative impact on Zhao Wenzhou and asked the media to issue an apology and a correction.  It would also reserve all rights to take legal action.

[2012.02.10] DONNIE YEN ATTRACTS THOUSANDS IN SHENZHEN

courtesy of on.cc

Donnie Yen Chi Tan two nights ago worked on the Clarence Ford (Fok Yiu Leung) directed film DUT SHU SUN FUN in Shenzhen.  Because they had to shoot a pouring rain scene, three blocks were blocked.  The team yesterday posted notices that detailed the production date and location to inform nearby residents.

The notice achieved the opposite effect though as the notice was posted online.  Two nights ago fans flocked to the location as almost 1,000 people gathered.  Some even looked at from nearby roofs.

Chi Tan never expected such a turn out and even he was surprised.  He urged everyone to pay attention to safety.  Director Fok Yiu Leung might have expected the situation, thus he arranged for almost 70 person security team to maintain order.  He said, "The security team included powerful locals and the police.  Security would be very steady."

For the rain scene, three large water trucks and many workers participated.  Chi Tan in the film played an undercover officer.  Two nights ago he appeared in a mobster look.  Famous tattoo artists spent four to five hours on him.

DUT not only starred Chi Tan but also Vincent Zhao Wenzhou, Zhang Hanyu and Mainland star Jing Tian.  Fok Yiu Leung pointed out that because the investor really liked Chi Tan, the investment had no upper limit.  He admitted that at first Chi Tan worried the watch and the chains would be scratched during fight scenes.  He asked for counterfeits instead but the boss did not mind.  He told Chi Tan to fight and not to keep it in mind.  Chi Tan was not only an actor but also an action director.  Earlier he secretly trained Jing Tian for a week and praised her potential.

The film will shoot in Shenzhen and Hong Kong.  In Shenzhen the wired action scenes on the roof would be shot as well as a five car crash with six HK$600,000 luxury cars.  Five would be totaled and one would be the back up.  Later the team will shoot in Hong Kong and even use a helicopter.

[2012.01.20] DONNIE YEN TAKES ON VINCENT ZHAO FOR VIEWERS

Donnie Yen Chi Tan, Jing Tian, Vincent Zhao Wenzhou, Zhang Hanyu and director Clarence Ford (Fok Yiu Leung) yesterday attended the action film DUT SHU SUN FUN (SPECIAL IDENTITY)'s production start press conference in Beijing.  Chi Tan will even be the film's producer and action director.  The event displayed a highlight of Chi Tan's classic action scenes so the live audience could experience "Yen Kung Fu"
dominance.  Chi Tan hoped to create an action film classic in "triple identities".

This would be Chi Tan and Zhao Wenzhou's first collaboration.  They admired each other and even looked forward to their fight scene in the film.  Chi Tan stated that he would as the "action director" design several "brilliant" fight scene for him and Zhao Wenzhou so viewers would have fun.  As the producer, he joked that "producer" actually was "hard work" (homonym).  He actually would learn from director Fok Yiu Leung and participated in the shoot like an apprentice.

Golden Horse Award winning Best Actor Zhang Hanyu has always appeared in a courageous and cool tough guy image and rarely made action films.  Working with two kung fu superstars Chi Tan and Zhao Wenzhou, he looked forward to this film the most this year.

As for fight scene break through, Zhang Hanyu said that he would "pick up a few tricks" and revealed that he has already begun his action training.  This time has been very tough but he looked forward to the fight scenes that Chi Tan would arrange for him.
