[2010.11.27] AARIF RAHMAN SUFFERS INJURY FROM CLIMBING A SCAFFOLD

courtesy of takungpao.com

Already in release, the film BRUCE LEE MY BROTHER's scaffolding scene near the end was the most shocking. The team built a 20 meter long scaffold and a tile roof top climb and used nearly 50 extras. Action director Chin Kar Lok kept urging everyone to be careful with every step. Any misstep would lead to a ten meter fall to the ground or severe injury from the scaffold. Thus the entire team was on a level ten alert.

In this scene Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting) and his buddies MC Jin and Hanjin Tan had to climb a ten meter tall building to dodge villain Wilfred Lau Ho Lung. Yet Lau arrived with a gang so they had to perform a dangerous chase on the roof. Because the roof was constructed with tiles and was unstable, Chin Kar Lok warned the actors about some areas of the roof that they absolutely should avoid.

Already injured before the shoot Lee Chi Ting paid extra attention during the shoot. Unfortunately in the end he still could not avoid aggravating the old wound, which started bleeding again. Lau Ho Lung had to jump from the ten meter high rooftop to the ground. He was very worried before hand but after several stunt coordinators' instructions he was able to finish the shot in one take.

[2010.11.23] AARIF RAHMAN HAS A BLOODY MEMORY IN EVERY SCENE

The film BRUCE LEE MY BROTHER will be released Asia wide on the 25th. Most of the attention of course would be on whether the action scenes will be convincing. As Bruce Lee Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting) trained for two months to play the role well. He who never fought was very worried and suffered injury after injury. He did not mind even when he got a nose bleed after the fight!

Lee Chi Ting recalled his first fight scene was already taking flight. His co-star was foreigner Alex. Their fight in a rice warehouse shot for nearly a week. Lee Chi Ting admired how quickly Alex picked up the steps. Instead looking back at his first fight he was truly worried that his response was not enough. Luckily after several rehearsals with Alex the result was decent. Alex was on fire and Lee Chi Ting had to put it out with his hand. This scene took several takes. The team's fire retardant lotion was almost all used up before the scene was roughly done. Lee Chi Ting said that he was lucky, otherwise he and Alex would have been roasted pig and they still would have to keep shooting! However injuries were inevitable in action scenes. Once Alex accidentally hit Lee Chi Ting and caused a nose bleed. He calmly hid and treated the wound. However MC Jin joked that he hid not because he was worried about his wound. He instead asked MC Jin whether the girls saw him get hit and made fun of him. MC Jin did not know whether to laugh or to cry, patted him on the shoulder and comforted him. "Don't worry, they know you are injured and are very worried. No one would make fun of you!" Lee Chi Ting then was at ease.

In another scene in the ring with Alex, Lee Chi Ting dislocated his arm. However due to the tight schedule he only relied on an experienced work to put it back in back. After applying ice on it he immediately returned to continue the shoot. The most severe injury was from an ordinary chase scene. Because he grabbed a sheet metal on the run he suffered a cut. He screamed, "It's bleeding!" Everyone rushed over. Luckily brother Chi Hung treated his wound. Lee Chi Ting said, his finger seemed to have split out, at the moment he felt a little faint.

Jennifer Tse Ting Ting, Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting), Hanjin Tan (Chan Woon Yan), MC Jin (Auyeung Ching) and Dada Lo Chung Chi yesterday attended a BRUCE LEE MY BROTHER promotion. In one of the games MC Jin and Hanjin Tan danced, but MC Jin suddenly dragged Ting Ting to the stage. Originally a judge Ting TIng had the Chacha with them. Tse Ting Ting later was asked whether being dragged out to dance was embarrassing. She said that she was a little nervous. Due to her poor Chinese she still was not used to attending events.

Lee Chi Ting said that during the shoot he injured his hand and needed stitches. He thanked Brother Tse Chi Wai who carried him to the vehicle to see the doctor. He said that in the scene he ran off camera but missed his mark. When he held on to sheet metal he cut his finger and injured nerves. The wound would take half a year to a year to recover, luckily it did not affect his guitar playing. He said that he did not tell his parents about the injury until his mother saw him not eating fish. He said that earlier after the premiere, Bruce Lee's sister grabbed his hand to show her appreciation, which touched me very much. Playing Bruce Lee, his greatest pressure was ultimately the opinion of Bruce Lee's family.

Dada said that the most unforgettable was when her on screen mother hit her. Luckily she was able to get into the crying scene. Did she want to switch to the substance school? She said of course she would as she would like to shake off the young model tag. As for whether she would not pose for another pictorial collection, she said, "Not necessarily, maybe when I am old I would want to."

[2010.10.22] AARIF RAHMAN UNCOVERS BRUCE LEE'S SECRET

courtesy of takungpao.com

This year is the 70th birthday of the martial art superstar Bruce Lee. His biographical film BRUCE LEE, MY BROTHER (LEI SIU LUNG) will also be released nationwide on November 25. The film production was not the slightest sloppy, as Bruce Lee's former home was recreated in accordance to the description of Bruce Lee's siblings Lee Chau Yuen and Robert Lee Chun Fai. When Lee Chun Fai visited the set, he sighed with excitement, "It resembles 90% of my home!"

The construction of Bruce Lee's old home cost over 10 million in order to bring the most realistic Bruce Lee growth highlight to the audience. At the same time the 40s Hong Kong old streets and scenery returned to life again. The film will also explain in detail Bruce Lee and Little Kirin (MC Jin)'s friendship, their frequent trouble making with Skinny (Hanjin Chen) and Lau Nin Kwong (Zhang Yishan) all over the place as they came up with their own banner "Dragon City Four Tigers". MC Jin said that in order to bring to live Little Kirin he had certain pressure, but the stress was much less than Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting)'s. Lee Chi Ting has always admired Bruce Lee. This time before playing his idol he continuously review Bruce Lee's past work. Something that surprised him and was incredible to him was that Bruce Lee did not know how to ride a bicycle until he was 17, which was a small secret of Bruce Lee.
