[2012.01.06] FRANCIS NG'S ACTIN STUNS MICHAEL TSE

Laughing Gor Michael Tse Tin Wa again jumped from television to the big screen as the film TURNING POINT 2 (LAUGHING GOR ji CHIM JUI FAN) followed the television series LIVES OF OMISSION (CHIM HUNG JUI GIK)'s story.  Laughing after murdering So Sing Pak was found guilty and
sent to prison, then another undercover mission began.  Tse Tin Wa in the film had many scenes with the Francis Ng Chun Yu played Professor.  The card scene near the end was unforgettable for him.

Tse Tin Wa praised Chun Yu's performance as unforgettable to him even now.  "When Chun Yu took his mark for the first scene, his interpretation was completely different from what I imagined.  His interpretation to me had an impact on me, stimulated my thinking and gave me a sense of freshness."  TURNING POINT 2 was the only Hong Kong film release during the New Year slot, which made Tse Tin wa feel very proud.  Would he like its box office to be better than TURNING POINT (BIN JIT)?  He said, "I never thought about it.  If I think like that, I would have stress."  Would he work on another series about Laughing?  The audience and TVB would decide.

Kate Tsui Tsz Shan went from LIVES OF OMISSION's smart lawyer to TURNING POINT 2's mental patient.  The characters differed drastically.  She said, "I rather enjoyed playing a mental patient, the character had potential.  The only bad part was the shoot was too rushed."  She recalled her first scene was when she learned that So Sing Pak was dead and she collapsed from crying.  It was completely just as the sun rose and she only had two opportunities.  It was dangerously close but luckily it was completed.  "I only had two chances to make this scene good.  I had to cry until I collapsed, the stress was tremendous and it was very tragic!  I at first thought only the first day of work would be like that, but later many important scenes were just like that too.  Even so, I still enjoyed the production process.  The outside response has been very positive too and I felt comforted."

The film TURNING POINT 2 (LAUGHING GOR ji CHIM JUI FAN) premiere took place two nights ago in Causeway Bay Jade Palace cinema.  Actors Francis Ng Chun Yu, Michael Tse Tin Wa, Chapman To Man Jat, Kate Tsui Tsz Shan, Janice Man Wing Shan and others attended.

The actors toasted to the new release at the premiere.  The film is slated for a release on the 29th.  Lead Tin Wa said that he was not worried that the film would miss the first round of the Christmas slot.  He thought that on Christmas holidays people might be busy with other matters.  He thought the second round release would not affect the box office.  Tin Wa said, "I only look forward to the box office getting better and better, then dinner inevitably will be my treat.  However I don't need to guess how much the box office will be."

Janice in the film kissed Tse Tin Wa but through glass.  She said, "I thought it was pretty special.  Through glass I really didn't know how to kiss.  Finally it took five or six takes."  Tsui Tsz Shan dressed provocatively for the event.  Janice said that her figure could not rival hers so she dressed casually.  After the premiere, she thanked the director for releasing her scenes in their entirety without any edit.

Ng Chun Yu earlier at the TVB Anniversary Awards presented the Best Actress award to Myolie Wu Hung Yi.  She invited him to participate in TRIUMPH IN THE SKY 2 (CHUNG SEUNG WON SIU).  Chun Yu said, "I am working out the details with and saving the slot for TVB, but I never consider guest starring and I don't want to make an exception."  Chun Yu compared himself to an alumnus who returned to work in his alma mater.  He said, "Lately the alma mater is a little strapped and needs help from its alumni.  I am not talking about money but the sequel.  For the sequel to be better than the first it is very hard."  Chun Yu was asked whether TVB lacked talent and needed him to return to save it.  Chun Yu said, "TVB doesn't need others to save it, it can take care of itself.  If it is described as a rescue, then the person who saves it gets too much credit."

Ron Ng Cheuk Hei's former girlfriend Zhang Xinyu reportedly called Tsui Tsz Shan earlier to call her a slut.  Tsui Tsz Shan said, "The show promotion is already over and won't need any more endless promotion.  It should be time for a lead change!  I haven't talked with her over the phone, we don't know each other.  I only learn from the report that she is Ng Cheuk Hei's girlfriend."  Tsui Tsz Shan said that some people would say anything but she stressed that she was not a slut.

courtesy of on.cc

The film TURNING POINT 2 (LAUGHING GOR ji CHIM JUI FAN) yesterday began work in Tuen Mun.  Michael Tse Tin Wa, Kate Tsui Tsz Shan, Francis Ng Chun Yu, Bosco Wong Chung Chak, Janice Man Wing Shan, director Herman Yau Lai To and others participated in the shoot.  Yesterday they shot a prison scene, Ng Chun Yu played a professor.  Yesterday TVB announced its award nominations.  Both Tse Tin Wa and Wong Chung Chak were nominated for Best Actor with LIVES OF OMISSION.  Tin Wa said that he was already very happy with the nomination and was the happiest about being nominated with Wong Chung Chak, which proved that the audience accepted that series.  He admitted that he had confidence and thanked Damien Lau Chung Yan for picking him as the favorite.  Was his biggest rival Kevin Cheng Ka Wing?  Tin Wa did not directly respond and only said that the nomination was already great.

Bosco received two nominations, one of which was his first Best Actor nomination.  He knew that Cheng Ka Wing was a favorite and Tin Wa was popular.  Wayne Lai Yiu Cheung's new series had decent ratings too.  He was the one with the least experience among them.  As for his Best Actress favorite, Bosco said that of course would Myolie Wu Hung Yi.  Her series THE RIPPLING BLOSSOM (YU YEUK JOI FA GEIN) had good word of mouth and now CURSE OF THE ROYAL HAREM (MAN FUNG JI WONG) also had great response.  Would he like to with Best Actor and Best Actress with Hung Yi?  He said that it would depend on the audience's preference.  Would they wed if they both won?  Bosco said that for now they have no such plan.

Tsui Tsz Shan was very happy to have scenes with Ng Chun Yu, from whom she could take the chance to learn from.  He also gave her a lot of suggestions.  Tsz Shan with LIVES OF OMISSION was nominated for Best Actress.  She said that her work opportunities would increase as would the money making opportunities.  Reportedly TVB asked Ng Chun Yu to make the sequel to TRIUMPH IN THE SKIES (CHUNG SEUNG WON SIU) but Chun Yu said that nothing has been confirmed.

[2011.10.30] MICHAEL TSE'S CONFIDENCE RISES FROM PLAYING LAUGHING ANNUALLY

The Michael Tse Tin Wa, Kate Tsui Tsz Shan, Bosco Wong Chung Chak starred television series LIVES OF OMISSION (CHIM HUNG JUI GIK) had both good word of mouth and rating.  The production team decided to make a film version TURNING POINT EXTREME (LAUGHING GOR ji CHIM JUI FAN).  The story would be about Laughing Gor in prison and add new actors like Francis Ng Chun Yu, Chapman To Man Jat, Wai Ying Hung and Janice Man Wing Shan.  Hopefully it will be a box office hit like TURNING POINT (LAUGHING GOR ji Bin Jit) two years ago.

Tse Tin Wa who had to play the character Laughing every year was the favorite to win this year's television Best Actor.  He admitted that his confidence rose.  He said, "This year's performance indeed has been better than previous years, my confidence has been risen as well.  Finally I have a respectable report card to show everyone, but I don't know how to calculate my chances.  As long as the response to the character and the series is great then it's fine."  Tin Wa said that the film story will begin when the television series ended.  Laughing after going to prison met Ng Chun Yu, To Man Jat and others.  He said, "Ultimately the story is complicated.  Chun Yu will play a highly intelligent criminal, I will have many scenes with him."  As for co-star Fala Chen not taking part, Tin Wa admitted it was regrettable.  He said, "Fala's character has already ended, Madame Jo is a character who everyone likes.  Unfortunately she has no way to develop with the story."

Because the Fala Chen played Madame Jo has already passed, the film daringly cast the current Miss Hong Kong Rebecca Zhu who has no acting experience at all.  She admitted that she had to shoulder a lot of pressure and would give her all while hoping to learn from the elders.  Was she afraid that bad takes would affect the progress?  She said, "I would try to rehearse more and hope everyone would understand.  I too
want my first performance to be good."  Rebecca Zhu said that when she received the notice that she would participate in the film, she was particularly excited and pleased.  Would she have any intimate scene with Chun Yu or Tse Tin Wa?  She said that would depend on the script and asked everyone to keep their eyes peeled.  Ng Chun Yu said that he got a raise.  He joked, "Doesn't everyone see the five dollar coin that we are holding?  We really got a raise, Ms. Lok (Elaine Lok Yi Ling) is very generous.  The increase percentage is very high."  After two years ago leading new comer Fala Chen in TURNING POINT, this year Chun Yu also will lead Rebecca Zhu.  Was leading new comers more difficult for him on the set?  He said, "Passing it on from generation to generation, I help when I can.  Everyone has been a new comer one time or another, when I am free I would chat with her more."

Kate Tsui Tsz Shan and Ron Ng Cheuk Hei yesterday attended a brand name label specialty shop opening ceremony.  Johnnie To Kei Fung at the LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE (DUET MING GUM) premiere said that Tsz Shan's look changed and hinted that she had work done.  Tsz Shan said that she read the report and she was sorry to drag To Sir in.  She said that that day To Sir said that she "grew up" and she thanked the magazine for praising her as pretty.  Did she have work done?  Tsz Shan said, "Of course not, if I did I wouldn't look like this."  She said that she never thought about cosmetic surgery as she was very satisfied and content.

[2011.10.08] REBECCA ZHU LANDS LEAD IN NEW FILM WITH RESEMBLAcourNCE

courtesy of takungpao.com

The Michael Tse Tin Wa and Bosco Wong Chung Chak starred TVB series LIVES OF OMISSION (CHIM HUNG JUI GIK) had the highest average rating so far this year.  The film version TURNING POINT EXTREME (LAUGHING GOR ji CHIM JUI FAN) will soon begin production with the original team as well as Miss Hong Kong Rebecca Zhu (Chu Sun Lai) in the female lead.  Francis Ng Chun Yu has been confirmed to play another villain in the film.

Reportedly the film will officially begin production on the 20th.  Tin Wa earlier has worked on the film poster.  Most of the LIVES actors like Wong Chung Chak, Kate Tsui Tsz Shan, MC Jin will participate.  Fala Chen due to her character will not take part.  TVB arranged for Miss Hong Kong Rebecca Zhu who resembles Fala Chen to perform.  In the film she will have many scenes with Tin Wai, even more than guest stars Wong Chung Chak and Tsz Shan.  Rebecca Zhu earlier attended a costume fitting for the film.

Tsz Shan however said that she took all the safety precaution. With so many children on hand tonight she was fine. Tin Wa said that Tsz Shan was very health and how she dressed was very normal overseas. Tsz Shan said that she dressed elegantly out of respect for the event. She knew that this film did great at the Mainland box office. This was her second time providing her voice. She would like more voice work opportunities in the future.

[2011.02.08] ERIC TSANG URGES TVB TO VALUE ITS TALENTS

courtesy of takungpao.com

Eric Tsang Chi Wai has always given a helping hand to the younger generation. Whether on or off screen he would try to give new comers chances as much as he could. In the New Year, his wish was to make more movies and discover more new actors in the Year of the Rabbit so the
Hong Kong film industry would not continue to shrink due to a lack of successors.

To coordinate with the Mainland market, now most Hong Kong films are co-productions. More than half the cast are Mainland actors as fewer and fewer are Hong Kong film stars. Chi Wai of course noticed this situation so he hoped to make more movies. He said, "Hong Kong needs more Hong Kong films. Aside from Lunar New Year films, I hope to be able to direct more movies this year and they don't have to be comedies." Chi Wai also would like to cast more new actors and transfer his acting experience to them. Did he have anyone in mind? He said, "Not yet! I will look depending on the situation then, I myself like Bosco (Wong Chung Chak) but as soon as he got popular, the television used him excessively. So I also thought about street recruitment, people without any acting experience could too."

Chi Wai pointed out that TVB actually had many good actors but they were never free. Fala Chen for example recently made one series after another. Thus he would remind her to give herself a break, then make some good movies to increase her worth. Chi Wai said, "Aside from
Fala, (Kate) Tsui Tsz Shan is also worth cultivating. Ah Sheh (Charmaine Sheh Si Man) also, but she at TVB gets no rest at all." He hoped TVB would cherish its artists and raise their worth, which would not only benefit the artists and the company but also the audience.

Lam Yun Tung has not only been busy with the Lunar New Year film promotion but also star in a segment of the show. She will even shoot on location in Taiwan. She was very happy that the company gave her so many opportunities but she worried about the program result. After it aired she would keep asking her friends for opinions. Sandra Ng Kwan Yu praised her Lunar New Year film performance, which she appreciated very much as it was great encouragement. She honestly said that at first she felt some pressure working with Kwan Yu, but they got along great and soon the pressure was gone. She thought acting was a lot of fun, but in the future
singing would still come first.

courtesy of takungpao.com

The Lunar New Year film I LOVE HONG KONG (NGOR OI HK HOI SUM MAN SHUI) cast including Fala Chen, Kate Tsui Tsz Shan, Michael Tse Tin Wa, Michael Miu Kiu Wai, Ron Ng Cheuk Hei and director Eric Tsang Chi Wai yesterday attended an airport press conference. Each received a VIP card for lifetime free upgrade to business class. Earlier Tsang Chi Wai
suddenly resigned as the TVB JADE SOLID GOLD host and flew back to Taiwan. Chi Wai yesterday explained that his father was hospitalized, now the condition has stabilized and he began to resume work.

Tsang Chi Wai looked tired yesterday. Although he was busy greeting other guests, his smile looked forced. Chi Wai pointed out that his 94 year old father suddenly fell ill four days ago and he immediately flew to Taiwan. He believed the senior fell ill due to the chill. Now that his father's condition was stabilized, he was at ease and returned to Hong Kong for yesterday's event. In the next few days he will promote the film and head for a shoot in Singapore.

Chi Wai said that his daughter Bo Yi and family were taking care of his father in Taiwan, so he would talk everyday over the phone for an update. Chi Wai pointed out that earlier his mood was indeed poor, but now he was much better. However, Chi Wai said that since he already turned down the JADE SOLID GOLD hosting gig he will not return to it. Chi Wai's right eye was red, which he said was from a lack of sleep earlier.

[2010.10.29] KATE TSUI SUPPORTS RAYMOND LAM'S IMPROVEMENT

courtesy of on.cc

courtesy of takungpao.com

Kate Tsui Tsz Shan yesterday attended a Xbox 360 new dance game event. Reportedly Mona Fong Yat Wa wrote Shaw executive Wong Ka Hei, who said at the new Shaw film PERFECT WEDDING (PO PO CHIU GAI YUN) event that Raymond Lam Fung had no film market and thus the film THE JADE AND THE PEARL (FEI CHUI MING JU) only made 3.15 million. Tsz Shan who worked with Lam Fung in PERFECT disagreed. She said that Lam Fung's acting is improving and as far as she knew PERFECT was performing decently at the box office.

However, even the director Barbara Wong Chun Chun earlier criticized television artists for having no film sense when making movies. Tsz Shan honestly said that she and Wong Chun Chun have discussed the subject and believed that the media misunderstood her meaning. She said, "Chun Chun has confidence in us, otherwise why would she ask us to make the movies? Hopefully I will have a chance to work with her again. (Was your confidence shaken?) No, I will accept all criticism and make myself perform better in the future."

The Miriam Yeung Chin Wa, Raymond Lam Fung, and Chrissie Chau Sau Na starred new film PERFECT WEDDING (PO PI CHIU GAI YUN) yesterday held a press conference in Guangzhou. Yeung Chin Wa hoped to win Best Actress with this film. Chin Wa said, "I am much older than Lam Fung, when I promote I should have it first. I will see Wai Ying Hung as my target." Later Chin Wa said that an award depended on timing and location. She said that she was confident in the box office, director Barbara Wong Chun Chun even predicted that the Mainland box office will reach 50 million yuan.

Chin Wa was asked about old flame Ronald Cheng Chung Kei. She did not respond and only said that they have not been in contact for a long time. She also joked that she was 30 something and her brain capacity was limited. She said, "I now already have reached a new stage in life, anything I have to forget I have already forgotten."

Will Chin Wa play she and her husband's performance at her concert during her wedding? She said they should perform live then. As for the progress, Chin Wa said, "My husband is responsible for everything. The happiest was the registration moment. The banquet is out of respect for family."

In addition, after Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin and William Chan Wai Ting's relationship was publicized they were called "pointy chin couple", hinting that they had plastic surgery. Lam Fung who earlier was also accused of plastic surgery at the TVB anniversary said, "Ah Sa's face has always been pointy, seemingly nothing is unnatural. She is dating, of course she would look pretty."

Chau Sau Na and Lam Fung in the film had an intimate bed scene. Chau Sau Na joked that after watching it she had difficulty breathing. She said, "I shot that part in front of a mirror, the result was very multidimensional. I savor it a lot." Chau Sau Na was not worried that her boyfriend would be upset and even bought tickets in advance to force him to watch with her. Chau Sau Na also said that one bed scene was enough, she did not need more.

Kate Tsui Tsz Shan did not have a chance to work on a bed scene in the film, she pointed out that she was mentally ready at anytime. She said, "The most important is exercising to stay in shape and the director's request is reasonable."

The film PERFECT WEDDING (PO PO CHIU GAI YUN) two nights ago held a premiere. Aside from producer Lawrence Cheng Tan Shui, director Barbara Wong Chun Chun and leads Raymond Lam Fung, Miriam Yeung Chin Wa, Chrissie Chau Sau Na, Kate Tsui Tsz Shan and Mak Ling Ling, guests included Wong Ka Hei, Elaine Lok Yi Ling, Peter Lam Kin Ngok, Raymond Wong Pak Ming, Michael Tse Tin Wa, Lily Ho Ngo Yi, Wong Cho Nam and Toby Leung Ching Kei.

Ah Tan at the premiere revealed that Chin Wa's husband Real Ting Chi Ko also came in support. She immediately looked all over for him and said, "I didn't know he would come, so horrifying!" Chin Wa was arranged to carry a heart shaped sign that said "two in three years" and jokingly
asked Mak Ling Ling whether she would be successful? Master Mak joked, "Not just two in three years, you can have three in two years!" Chin Wa giggled and asked, "Master, do you know what is my age?" Later Chin Wa was asked to toss the bouquet, which landed on the arrow that said over 100 million box office. Lam Fung honestly said that he would like the film to have 15 million at the box office. He knew that the film had good reviews and box office after its Singapore and Malaysia release. Since the Mainland market opened, many Hong Kong artists' value skyrocketed. Lam Fung honestly said that he did not know how much his salary was. As
long as Ms. Lok took the job for him, he would do it.

Although Chin Wa has completed her concert and film promotion, her husband was still in charge of their wedding because in late October she would have to leave Hong Kong. However she has already tried her wedding gown. Would she need to lose more weight? She said, "No, if I get any thinner I would have to 'push up bone'! (You can enlarge your breasts before marriage?) I am several decades old so I won't mess with that. However a slimming company asked me to respresent it, I worried that I would gain the weight again. This way would have a lot of pressure." Chin Wa received many sponsorships, including the wedding gown and wedding banquet items. However she would like boss Lam Kin Ngok to sponsor a real estate property. She is already living with her mother in law and joked that she did not need to worry about pipe bursts. Earlier with the air conditioner was leaking, her mother in law knew to call for repair and she felt very lucky. However was she worried about living together would be harder? She said that she has been in the industry for years and had enough intelligence and maturity to handle it.
Chin Wa due to an early flight today had to go home and rest right after the premiere. She did not watch the film or attend the after party. Instead Ting Chi Ko went to see the movie with his mother and also attended the party for his wife. He even stole Lam Fung's thunder. Ting Chi Ko said that Chin Wa did not know that he would come to support her. How did watching his wife and Lam Fung's intimate scene felt? He awkwardly laughed, "I felt a little strange so I would press the mobile phone to divert my attention, but she is a good actress. Her performance is very open and natural." Would he keep Chin Wa from intimate scenes? He joked, "Make martial art films! (Aren't you afraid of injuring her?) She has studied kung fu, it's no big deal!"
