[2011.11.18] XIAO SONGJIA SEDUCES PETER HO

courtesy of takungpao.com

The Peter Ho Yun Tung starred COLD STEEL has already been selected for this year's Palm Springs Film Festival.  Director David Wu Dai Wai said that he had a lot of confidence in this film.  He would like to win the Best Editing award the most and hope that Ho Yun Tung, Tony Leung Ka Fai and Xiao Songjia to be able to win acting awards.

Ho Yun Tung and Xiao Songjia in the film had daring love scenes.  In the film the Xiao Songjia played tea house owner was very active in love, while Ho Yun Tung played a kid who was still "green" about love.  Thus Xiao Songjia in the film had to be Ho Yun Tung's mentor in love.  Ho Yun Tung once said, "Spark flew all over during this collaboration, Xiao Songjia's performance in the film was especially vivid.  For passion scenes for example, if actresses hold back actors would be in trouble and could be in character.  Xiao Songjia not only was not reluctant but was also able to coordinate with me, which made getting into characters easier for us."  This performance was the most daring for both Ho Yun Tung and Xiao Songjia in their careers.

courtesy of takungpao.com

Joe Chen Qiao-En, Peter Ho Yun Tung, Xia Zitong and director Soi Cheang Po Shui yesterday attended a press conference for the film THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG) and a game site. Although the Heavenly Palace CEO Chow Yun Fat could not attend, he asked Filmko boss Alex Wong HOi Fung to bring his on the set photos of Princess Iron Fan Chen Qiao-En and Erlang Shen Ho Yun Tung in costumes. Qiao-En and Ho Yun Tung could not be happier.

When Chen Qiao-En saw Fat Gor's photo of her in costume, Qiao-En was teary eyed. "Fat Gor is very thoughtful. After taking the photo he even puts it in a frame for me. When I receive it my heart truly shudders, I was very touched!" Ho Yun Tung who has asked Fat Gor for photography tips could not open his mouth for several seconds when he got the photo. "I never thought my idol Fat Gor would give me a gift. The film has been finished for month, Fat Gor is still so thoughtful. On the photo is Fat Gor's autograph as well as the word love!" Nine Tailed Fox Xia Zitong went to study in the U.S. after completing the film. After the press conference she had to rush back to the U.S. for school.

[2011.05.20] PETER HO SHOOTS LIKE HE HAS A TWITCH

courtesy of singtao.com

courtesy of takungpao.com

Peter Ho Yun Tung in the film BIAN DI LANG YAN played a sniper. Everyday he carried the 20 kilogram gun and rolled around in dirty to show everyone his transformation from idol actor to silver screen tough guy!

Peter looked cool with the gun, but his "shooting" took a lot of time and practice. He said, "The gun weighed 20 kilograms. From the start when I fired I would tremble all over. The director asked me whether I was a sniper or had an eye twitch? Later when I had free time I would feel the gun and load the gun, then I practiced to look more like the part." Actually the secret was very simple. Peter liked photography and felt pleasure from the sound of the shutter. For this film he treated the gun like a camera and imagined the loading sound as the camera shutter sound.

Tony Leung Ka Fai had the most scenes with Peter, but Leung Ka Fai in the film was not responsible for "playing cool" and did not have any romance. He primarily played "injured" and was called "the easily hurt man". Peter said, "Brother Fai and I met and greeted on the first day. Then he began to be injured continuously. For example, yesterday in a scene in which he lay on the ground, someone in high heels actually stepped on him. Brother Fai truly is too professional."

[2011.05.04] PETER HO CARRIES ASTHMA MEDICINE ON THE SET

courtesy of takungpao.com

The Peter Ho Yun Tung, Tony Leung Ka Fai, Victor Chen Si Hong, Xiao Songjia starred in BIANDI LANGYAN. The film production has already passed the halfway mark. The Ho Yun Tung played sniper has suffered in a variety of ways.

A sniper has to be very familiar with every type of gun. Before the shoot Ho Yun Tung borrowed guns from the prop instructor. In the day he ran with the gun to practice shooting on the move. At night he posed with the gun in front of the mirror to look more professional. Even when he slept he held the gun to practice rapid reloading on his chest. However, the rainy location had drastic temperature differences and high humidity morning and night. The rain made the climate colder than the north and even more bone chilling. The Ho Yun Tung played sniper had to run around the forest countless times, sliding from high grade, running on the grass, lying all day without moving at all on the stream bank, and even falling into a deep pool after an explosion. His assistant tag along with asthma medication and the doctor followed tightly behind. Luckily Ho Yun Tung remained tough. In the film all the men were in great shape, almost all had topless shooting scenes. Because he had to be topless, Ho Yun Tung almost everyday after work went to work out. He said to the director and other actors, "Each of us is responsible for one muscle!" Some were responsible for baring chest, some were responsible for showing arms, and some were responsible for flashing abdominal muscles. As for the rear they had to play rock, scissors and paper to decide! Ho Yun Tung so far remained the winner.

[2011.03.29] PETER HO HAS HELLISH TRAINING

courtesy of takungpao.com

BIAN DI LANG YAN yesterday held a production start press conference in Hengdian. The film starred Peter Ho Yun Tung, Tony Leung Ka Fai, Mainland actor Xiao Songjia, Mickey He Shengming and John Woo's daughter Angeles Woo (Ng Fei Ha). In the film Ho Yun Tung played a sniper, his first military character.

Speaking of the character, Ho Yun Tung said, "My pressure is enormous because it is the first time I play a soldier, the role is very heavy and in particular co-starring with Best Actor Big Brother Leung Ka Fai, I have to get it my all." Director David Wu Dai Wai hoped to create a Chinese version of GONE WITH THE WIND for this Lunar New Year to reach the same box office height as LET THE BULLET FLY did last year.

Leung Ka Fai said that Peter landed the role not only due to his tough look and excellent acting but also his honest but humorous personality. Another character in the film, the portrayer of Ghost Shadow, knew he had to be in a nude scene with Peter actually went through a week without rice! Peter said, when he saw the ghost shadow in the film he could not sleep or eat. After work no matter how tired he was he still went to the gym to train. After the training he did not dare to eat anything.

Because the film was about war, it had many gun fight and explosion scenes. To ensure every actor's safety, the team heavily insured them and arranged for 24 hour professional medical team to be on hand. The team also set up an explosion safety knowledge lecture to catch the workers up on safety knowledge. Ho Yun Tung also shared some safety precaution procedures that he experienced in his career and urged everyone that safety came first.

[2011.01.18] PETER HO WORKS ON THE MONKEY KING

courtesy of singtao.com

courtesy of takungpao.com

Peter Ho Yun Tung and Godfrey Tsao (Go Yi Cheung) yesterday attended a Hong Kong medical museum fashion show. After the event Ho Yun Tung had to fly to Paris for an ad. Recently he has been busy with the film THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG). This time with the chance to work with his idol Chow Yun Fat, he praised Fat Gor as friendly. On the set he often shared acting experience with him. Fat Gor learned that he had a passion for photography as well and traded experiences. He said that normally he shot scenery more, but Fat Gor was more detailed and was even able to predict weather before analyzing how to shoot the photo.

In the film Ho Yun Tung and Donnie Yen Chi Tan had fight scenes. He pointed out that Chi Tan's kung fu was the strongest in the universe so he could only be the one who was the most able to take a beating in the universe. Earlier Yen Chi Tan was made fun of as the shortest in the
universe. During the shoot did he wear flat bottom shoes to make up for height? He pointed out that they often had wire scenes and height did not make a difference.

[2011.01.03] PETER HO IS SHAKING AS SOON AS HE SEES CHOW YUN FAT

courtesy of on.cc

Peter Ho Yun Tung earlier came to Hong Kong to attend an New Year countdown event with Bosco Wong Chung Chak, Dada Chen Jing, Lina Matsuoka, William Chak and others. His uncle who lives in Hong Kong also came to welcome the New Year with him, which was quite moving for him. Recently busy with THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG) in Beijing, he revealed that he already began shooting scenes with "Jade Emperor" Chow Yun Fat. Peter awkwardly said, "I can't believe after over ten years in the business, as soon as I saw Fat Gor I seemed to forget how to act. Luckily he was very patient. He and I both like photography so I plan to ask him for some advice when I have a chance." Earlier Peter had a day off and he went to see LET THE BULLETS FLY to support his idol.

Speaking of his future, Peter said that his first film was actually Tsui Hark's THE LOVERS (LEUNG JOOK). Looking back he sighed about how quickly times flew. He honestly said, "Hong Kong films have many subjects and I started here, so I have quite a bond. I want to spend more time on the Hong Kong market. Back then when I made THE LOVERS, originally I was just an extra. Finally I caught Tsui Hark's eyes and I got a larger role, so I really want to work with him again and tell him that I am already grown!" Peter also admired Johnnie To Kei Fung a lot and jokingly wished that he would take him to the Cannes red carpet!

The star studded 3D fantasy action epic THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG) yesterday held its first press conference in Beijing. Director Soi Cheang Po Shui and the leads including Donnie Yen Chi Tan, Chow Yun Fat, Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Joe Chen Qiao-En, Peter Ho Yun Tung, Kelly Chen Wai Lam, Gigi Leung Wing Kei, Wang Yuanyuan, Liu Ye, Eddie Cheung Siu Fai and others. Jade Emperor Chow Yun Fat and Bull Demon King Kwok Fu Sing could not help but complain about the long make up time.

At yesterday's press conference, the usually mischievous Fat Gor displayed his funny side. Speaking of playing the Jade Emperor, Fat Gor said, "After playing so many boss character, this time I finally got to Heaven. As the Jade Emperor I finally can realize the dream of ruling three realms and commanding the entire world." Fat Gor also pointed out that he will show everyone a different Jade Emperor this time. Yet speaking about the production, Fat Gor said that he was the most afraid of make up and would rather take less salary than spending so much time in make up everyday. Kwok Fu Sing in the film played Bull Demon King was just as afraid of make up. Sing Sing said that in order to play this Bull Demon King character, everyday he had to spend over three hours in make up. After several days, his facial skin had problems. Sometimes he wanted to finish all the scenes at once.

Yen Chi Tan not only starred but also was the action director. With two jobs on his hand, would he feel tired? Chi Tan said that now everyday he only slept for two hours, but he did not feel it was tough. He only wanted to make the movie good. This time Chi Tan played Sun Wukong, but he pointed out that this character in his mind was still brewing. Whether the costume, personality or the co-star scenes in the film he had to complete negotiation before telling everyone. Ho Yun Tung played Erlang Shen, who had the most fight scenes with Yen Chi Tan in the film. He joked that everyone will fight from this year to next year.

Sing Sing yesterday publicly thanked his on screen wife Chen Qian-En because she gave up a lot for him. Chen Qian-En said that she played Princess Iron Fan who gave up being a Heavenly Palace fairy to go to Flame Mountain with Bull Demon King and also carried their child for 300 years. Chen Qian-En pointed out that her pregnant was very tough, though because of it she escaped many action scenes. She also praised Sing Sing's acting as very detailed. Kwok Fu Sing reminded her of many action or expressions that she could not think of. Sometimes he would even talk with the director then like an older brother talk to her about acting.

Chen Wai Lam played Goddess of Mercy. This was her first film after giving birth. She joked that she would like to finish her part as soon as possible so she could be with her son. She said that she took the role mainly because of her merciful personality. She wished that everyone would have a merciful heart like the Goddess of Mercy. Kelly even promised to donated her salary to a children's charity. Leung Wing Kei played Chang E. She said that she rarely worked on costume films and looked forward very much to this time. She also said that she knew Chang E was banished to solitary confinement due to a big mistake. Thus she hoped that no one would be too greedy in life in order to avoid making a big mistake. Yesterday she also introduced the Nine tailed Fox new comer Xia Zitong, who said that in the film she tempted Sun Wukong. She also fell for the most famous Chinese person. In addition, earlier Sun Wukong's costume was unveiled. Director Cheang Po Shui joked that Sun Wukong had 72 transformations. Thus Sun Wukong costumes also required 72 fittings and the earlier revealed one was not the final costume.

[2010.11.24] JOE CHEN, PETER HO JOIN FILMKO

courtesy of takungpao.com

Joe Chen Qiao-En and Peter Ho Yun Tung earlier officially joined Filmko. According to Filmko, as early as two years ago the company has been in touch with both. At the time Qiao-En focused on television. At the end of last year she decided to switch to the Mainland and the big screen. Since she and her former management company parted ways peacefully, she was able to work with Filmko. As for Ho Yun Tung who always had a dream to direct, since several years ago he has been looking for the right company to work with. Filmko last year opened a branch in Taiwan. He discovered that Filmko was willing to try fresh topics and thus they decided to unite in less than two meals.

Reportedly Filmko's fantasy epic THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG) also helped the contract signings. Two years ago when the film was brewing, Qiao-En and Ho Yun Tung have already decided to play Princess Iron Fan and Erlang Shen. Thus THE MONKEY KING was a welcome gift for them. As for their future direction and development, Filmko said that Ho Yun Tung already had very successful attempts and experience as a producer. The company also hoped to be able to fulfill his director dream. Qiao-En hoped through more excellent film characters and big films to create her big screen image.

[2010.11.06] PETER HO TRAINS TO TAKE ON DONNIE YEN

courtesy of mingpao.com

courtesy of takungpao.com

Peter Ho Yun Tung in THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG) played Erlang Shen. In the recent month he has been working out with an old injury because he was worried that he was not strong enough in a fight with Donnie Yen Chi Tan, he might accidentally "die from one kick".

Ho Yun Tung said, "When I worked on television series costume martial art action scenes, most fights were more child's play. Some exchanges were simpler. Yet film's costume martial art action scenes are different, more or less they require some background. In particular when the opponent is a martial art master I can even slack off less. I can't be too fragile. Yet martial art is not something that can be learned over one or two days, so I can only get into shape first."

However, Ho Yun Tung suffered a basketball injury several months ago. The doctor even urged him not to work out excessively in half a year, otherwise recovery would be difficult. However with the new film on the way, he could not follow the doctor's order. Since last month he began to work out like mad. Originally he worked out three times a week, now he was much more frequent. Almost everyday no matter how late he worked he would run to the gym and work out at least for 2 hours. Even when he was working in more remote areas in China, he would still take an over 2 hour ride to a gym. Because his old wound has not completely heal, during his work out he would hurt. However Ho Yun Tung would tolerate it out.

The 400 million RMB 3D production THE MONKEY KING (DAI LAU TIN GUNG) earlier officially started production in Beijing and the cast was announced, including Donnie Yen Chi Tan as Sun Wukong the Monkey King, Chow Yun Fat as the Jade Emperor, Aaron Kwok Fu Sing as the Demon Bull King, Peter Ho Yun Tung as the Heavenly Palace's top warrior Erlang Shen, Joe Chen Qian-En as Princess Iron Fan, Monica Mok Siu Kei and Wang Yuanyuan as Rosy Cloud and Colorful Cloud fairies.

Sing Sing's Demon Bull King will break traditions, handsome, stylish and fighting for love. In order for his beloved wife Princess Iron Fan and the 300 year long pregnancy of their son Red Child to be able to return to Heaven, he became an enemy of the Heavenly Palace, incited Sun Wukong to create havoc with him there and finally began a war. Ho Yun Tung said that he was very happy to be a part of the film. Because Fat Gor was his super idol, the chance to work with him was the best present from Heaven. He also looked forward very much to meeting Fat Gor.

He said that when he was little he had many female classmates and he was shorter. At the time after seeing A BETTER TOMORROW (YING HUNG BOON SIK) he began to worship Fat Gor. Sometimes he would wear his father's trench coat and suit with a tooth pick in his mouth to imitate the character. When he learned Fat Gor liked photography he went to study it. Yet in his 11 years in the business he never was lucky enough to meet him. He remembered that once at work he heard Fat Gor was shooting nearby and immediately asked the director for time off. He ran nearly 2 kilometers only to find out it was a false rumor. This time Filmko Entertainment boss Alex Wong Hoi Fung on his eve of his birthday called and invited him to perform. When he learned about the chance to work with Fat Gor, he thought it was a great birthday present. He also said that he oftne worked on fight scenes but did not know any martial art. He hoped to be able to properly learn from Yen Chi Tan and Kwok Fu Sing.

Chen Qiao-En also looked forward to working on this film. She was very excited to be able to work with veterans Fat Gor, Kwok Fu Sing and Yen Chi Tan on her second film. In addition, THE MONKEY KING was filled with top Hollywood talent. The special effect make up supervisor was 300's Shaun Smith, visual effect supervisor was ALICE IN WONDERLAND's
David Ebner, Reuben Langdon who was a part of the AVATAR production. Hollywood workers from THE LORD OF THE RING and KING KONG were responsible for building the special effect set. Soi Cheang Po Shui will direct.

Ho Yun Tung in order to bring to life this Tibetan slave even studied Tibetan. Despite of his asthma he still risked everything to shoot in the high mountains deep on the edge of Tibet. After the entire film was cut, the director and the investors had nothing but praise for Ho Yun Tung.

[2010.08.05] PETER HO, JING TIAN TALK ABOUT FIRST LOVE

Jing Tian, Peter Ho Yun Tung, Annie Wu (Ng Sun Kwan)

courtesy of takungpao.com

The romantic film MY BELLE BOSS was released earlier. Its stars Peter Ho Yun Tung, Jing Tian, Annie Wu (Ng Sun Kwan) promoted in Shengzhen Shangri La Hotel then rushed to Shenzhen cinemas in 40 degree Celsius heat for close contact with the audience. At the event, Ho Yun Tung and Jing Tian generously talked about their first love.

In the film when Ho Yun Tung got the official date call from Jing Tian, his funny performance of extreme excitement but also self suppression was relatable to many viewers. Some said that this was how first love felt like, exactly like how he received the first call from the girl he had a crush on. When asked whether he thought about his first love during this scene, Ho Yun Tung said, "Wow, how do you know, that's amazing. Although first time is so long ago for me, indeed during this scene I thought of my emotions then." Ho Yun Tung's Xian co-star Jing Tian was still a third year student at the Beijing Film Academy and known as "Beijing Film Academy Flower" on the internet. As a new comer, Jing Tian shyly said, "Actually girls can relate to a lot in the film. My friends said that the motorcycle ride in the film, sharing a scarf at night, reminded them of their university days when they rode with their boyfriends to the librarian everyday. It was almost like finding the long missed first love feeling. They also said that our firework by the sea and playing games to remember our childhood was particularly touching, many of them could not help but cried."

Ho Yun Tung was not worried about the "after shock" summer slot. He said, "MY BELLE BOSS and AFTER SHOCK are incomparable, this film's box office remains hard to predict but the word of mouth has definitely been great. When you watch MY BELLE BOSS, you would be touched a little in happiness." When asked whether he would move from television series to film production, Ho Yun Tung said, "Producing has always been my dream. Producing a movie isn't that simple and requires a lot of money. So I have to keep acting and work hard to make money."
