Peter Chan Ho Sun won a special achievement award at the 9th Reggio Emilia Asian Film Festival. Sandra Ng Kwan Yu earlier went with Chan Ho Sun to accept the award. Kwan Yu also brought home an award as she won Best Actress with ALL ABOUT LOVE (DUT HAN CHAU FAN), much to her surprise.

Kwan Yu went with Chan Ho Sun to accept the award and to go on a holiday to relax, not expecting to receive the good news upon her return that Kwan Yu with the film defeated the likes of BUDDHA MOUNTAIN's Fan Bingbing and Sylvia Chang (Cheung Ngai Ga), CROSSING HENNESSY (YUET MOON HIN NEI SI)'s Tang Wei, LIKE A DREAM (YU MUNG)'s Yolanda Yuan Quan and others to win Best Actress. She said, "Actually after coming back from traveling the world with 'hubby', we can accept awards as a 'couple'. Double the pleasure, from now on we have to go on vacations more!" She also said that she just celebrated with Chan Ho Sun for his special achievement award, when she actually had one to accept as well. "That day I thought I was accompanying Peter to accept the award and visit Italy. On the day when Peter accepted the award, the event chair told me that I was in competition as well. I didn't know at all and asked him which movie. That was when I learned that ALL ABOUT LOVE was in competition and the result would be announced nine days later. Peter even put me down and said the competition was strong, in addition some of them like Fan Bingbing and Tang Wei have won Best Actress with their films so it would not be my turn to win. He sank my confidence so I didn't think about it. Yesterday I received the good news, it is truly
too surprising!"

Kwan Yu was asked if she won the lottery this time would she not be even more excited? Kwan Yu insisted that she was happier about winning Best Actress than the lottery. She said with satisfaction, "I am an actress after all! For an actress winning Best Actress of course is better than winning the lottery! I have to save more luck for the box office and awards. ALL ABOUT LOVE is a city comedy, comedy rarely wins awards. This is something to be happy and encouraged about. So I really have to thank Wong Jing to put an effort into making and supporting some more artistic films, as well as director (Ann) Hui On Wa, screen writer Yeung Kei San and a group of good co-stars (Vivian) Chow Wai Man and (Eddie) Cheung Siu Fai for making a good movie." Since the "couple" both won awards, would they celebrate? Kwan Yu said, "Earlier when we went to Milan I celebrated once with Peter, now I will wait until the award arrives! If last time I went with Peter to the WU XIA Cannes premiere and won Cannes Best Actress out of the blue, that would've been great! Hahaha......"

[2010.09.25] VIVIAN CHOW FINDS HOMOSEXUAL SUPPORT ENCOURAGING

courtesy of singtao.com

courtesy of takungpao.com

Vivian Chow Wai Man last night attended a handbag specialty store opening. Speaking of her ALL ABOUT LOVE (DUK HAN CHAU FAN) character being selected as the top lesbian lover on a homosexual site, she said that she was very happy about everyone's support. She was the
happiest about having another group of viewers after making this film. Their acceptance of this character truly gave her a lot of encouragement. She also said that although she had many homosexual friends and they got along very well, none has ever hit on her because she did not go to an all girl school. Would she make another movie? She said for now she would focus on advertising so she would not make another film. However she was open to the idea, as long as the script, the location, the director and the co-stars were suitable she would consider it. However she would not fight for a role since she was only a part time artist.

[2010.09.23] SANDRA NG IS LOOKING FOR A SURROGATE MOTHER?

courtesy of mingpao.com

courtesy of takungpao.com

Sandra Ng Kwan Yu and Ann Hui On Wa yesterday attended the ALL ABOUT LOVE (DUK HAN CHAU FAN) forum at the Hong Kong University and shared their production experience with students. Hui On Wa mentioned that working with homosexuality as a subject was very dangerous because she was not a homosexual and has already passed the age of sex and romance. Kwan Yu pointed out in the past male homosexual subject films would always perform better at the box office than female homosexual films. She also mentioned that no matter how open the society is now, these subjects cannot be publicly discussed. Now the big screen was like a magnifying glass had certain risks.

Ng Kwan Yu and Michelle Reis (Lee Ka Yun) earlier were rumored to be pregnant around the same time, finally only Lee Ka Yun's was real. Kwan Yu said, "Before the report when the world speculated about her pregnancy, I didn't call and gossip. I too only found out from reading the report and made dinner plans next week." Kwan Yu pointed out that she did not mind and now she could return to the work. Instead she was happier about Ka Yun's first pregnancy.

Kwan Yu appeared with a short hairstyle. In this sensitive period was she afraid of being accused of cutting her hair for the pregnancy? She said, "Awaiting pregnancy? Finding a surrogate is more like it. My friend sent surrogate information to me. I am interested since I don't have to do it myself. Every pregnancy wastes two years, then I have to slim down again." However, so far she knew that only the U.S. had surrogate mothers. She would consider if Hong Kong has them too. However she still would consult the elders first. Would she also accept
artificial insemination? She said, "Don't use me as a lab rat, I am already very tired."

Sandra Ng Kwan Yu, Vivian Chow Wai Man, Joey Man Yi Man, William Chan Wai Ting, Eddie Cheung Siu Fai and others yesterday wore black to attend the new film ALL ABOUT LOVE (DUK HAN CHAU FAN) premiere in memory of the Hong Kong hijacking victims in Manila. Kwan Yu said with a heavy heart, "Nothing is worth celebrating. This entire matter could originally been avoided, but now whatever we say is useless. I only wish that the governments of Hong Kong and the Philippines properly deal with the aftermath." Kwan Yu also pointed out that two nights ago she watched the live television broadcast with her Filipino maid. "She is no different from my family. I would answer the Hong Kong government's call and not go there for now." Vivian stated that she prayed for the victims all night.

Originally William planned to wear a red suit to the event, but after the tragedy he immediately changed. "Now I am looking for the related charity organizations, I want to donate some money to the family of the victims." The team planned to change the premiere change, but of actor schedules and venue booking the change would be very difficult. Thus the show went on as scheduled. Other guests included Petrina Fung Bo Bo and Deanie Ip Tak Han.

Earlier Simon Yam Tat Wa and Kam Kwok Leung revealed that Sandra Ng Kwan Yu turned down the film YIT OI DOH (HOT LOVE ISLAND) due to pregnancy. Kwan Yu yesterday attended ALL ABOUT LOVE (DUT HAN CHAU FAN)'s promotional event. Although she was plumper than before, she was light on her feet. She even deliberately took big steps on and off stage to clarify that she was not pregnant yet. However she admitted that because she was hesitant, she turned down the role two days before the shoot. She publicly apologized to Kam Kwok Leung and the team and pointed out that Kam Kwok Leung should be mad at her.

The film ALL ABOUT LOVE yesterday held a promotion. Attendees included Ng Kwan Yu, Vivian Chow Wai Man, William Chan Ting Wai, Eddie Cheung Siu Fai, Joey Man Yi Man and Jo Kuk Cho Lam. The actors played games with the audience. Rumored to be pregnant, Kwan Yu appeared in loose fit clothing and looked slightly fatter than before. However when she walked she took big steps as she always has. She even danced with the audience and did not seem pregnant. When reporters joked that Kwan Yu should be careful, she said, "Crazy." Later reporters congratulated her and she immediately said, "No need." She denied that she could not make the announcement before the time was not right yet, but she admitted that she turned down YIT OI DOH. She said, "The story is very simple. I turned it down two days before the production was to start. I understand as soon as I turned it down numerous speculations would arise."

As for Kam Kwok Leung pointed out that she was "pregnant", Kwan Yu said, "He always talks like that!" This time she turned down the role because earlier she already said that she did not want to work during the summer vacation. Since Peter Chan Ho Sun went to Yunnan, she had to watch their daughter. The film had to shoot abroad and her schedule could not adjust. She admitted that she was wrong in the matter as she did not turn it down absolutely. She said, "I was hesitant and indecisive. The whole story actually doesn't have 'more to the story'." However she said that the team had some problems as well and Chan Ho Sun asked her not to take the role. Kwan Yu said, "Ultimately I owed the team, Kam Kwok Leung, Brother Wa." Did she turn down the role due to pregnancy? She said no, and she has not signed any contract to confirm production.

Why did she turn it down two days before the shoot was about to begin? She pointed out that some issues took place behind the scene, originally the production was halted but then resumed again. The entire matter was very mysterious. Was she afraid that the incident would affect her friendship with Kam Kwok Leung/ Kwan Yu said, "That's why I am saying sorry to him, I called him." Was she the first female lead in the film? Kwan Yu did not know what first female lead was. The film had three girls, the characters were very even. She did not know that the team wanted Carina Lau Ka Ling. Kam Kwok Leung pointed out that Ka Ling was actually his first choice. Did she feel that he was promoting with the matter? Kwan Yu said, "Whatever. I work in this business, whether it was promotion or news, it is still news! It doesn't matter, I wouldn't think about whether people are promoting like that, even if it is promotion it
is very normal. After losing one actor you of course have to find another." She reiterated that Kam Kwok Leung should be mad at him and being upset was normal.

Again she was asked whether she denied the pregnancy because the time was not right. Kwan Yu said, "That's not it, just keep your eyes peeled and see!" Reporters asked that she did not admit to the first pregnancy either. She pointed out that at the time she wanted some
privacy. This time she honestly admitted that she wanted a baby. Was she working hard on having a child? She joked, "Peter is in Yunnan! The altitude is too high! At such a age, a senior would be trying too hard to catch a breath. I am talking about him, not me!"

In addition, Chow Wai Man believed Kwan Yu was not pregnant. Otherwise she definitely would know. She hoped everyone would give her a little space. Chow Wai Man also revealed that someone was impersonating her on microblog. She clarified that she has no microblog, blog or
Facebook yet, for now she has not considered starting any. Since she has her own official site, sometimes she would leave messages on the board. She already has a platform to communicate with fans.

[2010.08.21] EDDIE CHEUNG GIVES FIRST ON SCREEN KISS TO SANDRA NG

courtesy of takungpao.com

Having worked with Sandra Ng Kwan Yu and vivian Chow Wai man on television, Eddie Cheung Siu Fai in recent years has made the jump to the big screen and worked on an Ann Hui On Wa directed film for the first time. Aside from working with these two beauties again, the
largest breakthrough was his first big screen kiss.

About his kiss scene with Kwan Yu, Cheung Siu Fai said that he did not smoke or have any garlic before hand. He did not make any preparation before the shoot could get chewing gum. Because the kiss scene was shot two or three days into the production and he has not seen Kwan Yu in
years, they were between being familiar and strangers so it was somewhat awkward. However both were good actors. Under the director's order they were able to get into character right away. Cheung Siu Fai said, "After the first take everyone was very satisfied, but the director suggested a few more tries for comparison. Finally we did three takes and still chose the first take. Because during the first take no one was certain about the other would actually do, it was the most natural."

About working with Hui On Wa this time, Cheung Siu Fai said that she extremely trusted her cast and was very satisfied with everyone's performance. Sometimes he would become suspicious. At the same time the team would chat and laugh off camera, making the entire production was relaxed. He said, "This time everyone really improvised so we didn't need to hold back our laughter. Instead we had some flubs, like during the shoot some props were ruined."

[2010.08.14] SANDRA NG FEARS FOR HER DAUGHTER"S ONLINE SAFETY

courtesy of takungpao.com

Sandra Ng Kwan Yu yesterday appeared on radio over the phone. She revealed that she has been keeping her daughter company since she was on summer vacation. Kwan Yu said that her daughter earlier saw something that she should not see online. She immediately turned very
tense, but her daughter thought it was cute. Her husband Peter Chan Ho Sun thought that it was inevitable and they could only explain clearly to their daughter. Kwan Yu in the new film ALL ABOUT LOVE (DUK HAN CHAU FAN) played a lesbian and had many intimate scenes with Vivian Chow Wai Man. She stated that she would watch it with her daughter.

Sandra Ng Kwan Yu, Vivian Chow Wai Man, William Chan Wai Ting, Joey Man Yi Man, Jo Koo Cho Lam and director Ann Hui On Wa last night attended the 5th Summer International Film Festival opening premiere of ALL ABOUT LOVE (DUT HAN CHAU FAN). Chow Wai Man wore a long see through dress, which she said that she has already taken all precaution for.

Was this their first viewing of the film? She said, "Earlier during voice work I snuck a peek at the kiss scene. (Is your husband not present because he did not want to see it?) No. He has a meeting, another film premiere will take place later." Will her husband be embarrassed to see her intimate scenes? Chow Wai Man said that she had no idea and hinted that the press should ask him. This time she had quite a breakthrough, with intimate scenes with both Chan Wai Ting and Ng Kwan Yu. Chow Wai Man pointed out that her fans have never seen such a wild character, thus she had a nervous wait and see approach. She said, "I am not a wild girl, telling them they can relax. The film is about a normal promise of love, not a label of same sex or opposite sex love."

Jordan Chan Siu Chun after attending Daniel Wu (Ng Yin Cho)'s wedding banquet blasted an elder named Ng on his microblog, the target seemed to be Ng Kwan Yu. Lately a magazine said that Kwan Yu called Siu Chun box office poison. She after learning from the reporters said, "I already thought on the first day of the story that it was nonsense. Now several issues of magazine content add another 100,000 nonsense. If I respond I would feel dumb and deficient." Speaking of the Ng elder who Siu Chun referred to, she said, "That night was Ng Yin Cho's wedding, many people there were named Ng. (Have you communicated with Siu Chun?) I greeted him and congratulated him on his wedding, my daughter was rushing me to go. Everyone could only say very little before I had to go, I swear!" These stories are making something out of nothing, they absolutely wouldn't be collaborated." Kwan Yu revealed that she and Siu Chun have worked together many times, they did not have any grudge. She claimed to be Miss Congeniality but could not control others. She said, "If you find a witness or recording, please call the police hot line. I am willing to put up a big reward."

[2010.08.06] VIVIAN CHOW AND SANDRA NG ARE CERTAIN ABOUT THEIR SEXUAL ORIENTATION

courtesy of mingpao.com

After 13 years away from the screen, Vivian Chow Wai Man in the Ann Hui On Wa directed ALL ABOUT LOVE (DUK HAN CHAU FAN) was "liberated" as she played a bisexual. She and William Chan Wai Ting played an older woman younger man passionate kiss scene; she and Sandra Ng Kwan Yu went even further as they had two kiss scenes and a bathing scene.

Bathing with a beauty, Kwan Yu was left in shame. "Facing Vivian, I was shamed. So I jumped into the tub in 9.9 seconds." Kwan Yu was very happy that she was able to kiss Vivian. She looked forward to it very much that so she kept "brushing her teeth in preparation". "I don't want her to suffer from the stench and leave a bad impression." Vivian said, "Relax, when you kiss me, I won't sense the pork chop and rice that you had before." Kwan Yu replied, "I too won't sense your salt and pepper pork chop and rice." Kwan Yu said that Vivian never grew tired of salt and pepper pork chop and rice. Over 26 shoots, Vivian had over 27 meals of salt and pepper pork chop and rice. Even late night snack was the same. Kwan Yu said, "Vivian still chews Wrigley's Doublemint gum, no wonder she is so faithful to (Joe) Ngai Chun."

After the shoot, Ng Kwan Yu and Chow Man Wai were able to leave their characters completely because of their other halves. Kwan Yu said, "My sexual orientation isn't in this direction." Kwan Yu admitted that she has been popular with girls from childhood on, now she still has lesbian suitors but she never developed into a couple relationship. Chow Wai Man too was popular with girls, most of her fans were girls. However no girl tried to pursue her.

[2010.08.05] VIVIAN CHOW, SANDRA NG FIGHT OVER BEST ACTRESS

courtesy of takungpao.com

Vivian Chow Wai Man and Sandra Ng Kwan Yu lately appeared on Cable to share their ALL ABOUT LOVE (DUT HAN CHAU FAN) and couple experience. Chow Wai Man said that in the film she and Ng Kwan Yu had a kiss scene. She even said, "In comparison to intimate scenes with actors, I looked forward to kiss scenes with actresses very much. During the shoot I also treated Kwan Yu like a lover." Kwan Yu replied, "I am not necessarily in agreement. Of course actors are better, kiss scenes with actresses instead make me nervous."

Chow Wai Man stated that working with Kwan Yu was a pleasure. Although they were married, their other halves both gave them a lot of support. Artists often faced special media surveillance, would couples often collaborate their stories? Vivian said, "If we discover someone (paparazzi) is following us downstairs, we would let each other know so everyone could be prepared." Kwan Yu said that with Long Hair she has already reached old couple stages. She said, "We have already entered another type of lifestyle. Hubby is busy with his movie, I take care of our daughter. Even if we have the very sweet moments like before, we still have to keep working hard."

As for confidence in winning Best Actress, they both said that now they would only enjoy the entire film production process. Kwan Yu who has won a Best Actress award said that one of them could win Best Actress and the other could be Best Supporting Actress. She said, "I would let her win, let her win Best Supporting Actress." Vivian did not know whether to laugh or to cry.

courtesy of takungpao.com

William Chan Wai Ting in ALL ABOUT LOVE (DUT HAN CHAU FAN) plays an university student who works at a bar. After an one night stand with Vivian Chow Wai Man she becomes pregnant. Their older woman, younger man relationship is very surprising.

Chan Wai Ting who has liked Chow Wai Man since he was very little cannot believe that he can act with his idol and even has a funny bed scene that he is very nervous about. "In that scene I was a virgin whose first time in bed was with Ms. Chow. I got nervous and finish in less than one minute, then the situation became very embarrassing." William remembers that before places he and Vivian already studied how to coordinate to prevent any "mishap". "When I was on top of Ms. Chow I really was very nervous." Finally under Vivian's guidance, this scene only needs two takes to complete and Chan Wai Ting very quickly is able to breathe a sigh of relief.
