Julian Cheung Chi Lam, Ava Yu Hiu, Mandy Lieu and Mandy Wong Chi Man two nights ago worked on their new film NATURAL BORN LOVERS (TIN SUN OI CHING KONG) in Sha Tin.  Chi Lam worked on an intimate scene.  Annie Liu (Lau Sum Yau) who did not have any scene two nights ago visited with chocolate for everyone.

Chilam said that the film is already 1/3 done but he was very resistant to work at night because of his lifestyle.  He said that last year he mainly sang and his life was very orderly, but recently he has been working at night so he caught colds and flu and needed Chinese herbal medicine.  He said, "Later I will have hugging and kissing scenes with Annie, I hope to recover soon and not to spread it to her."

Annie said that she was not certain on passionate their intimate scenes would be.  Was she afraid of upsetting Chilam's wife Anita Yuen Wing Yi?  She said, "I probably won't.  Len Len has visited the set too.  I even played with Chilam's son Demon Child.  As soon as he saw me he asked if I was married and that he would introduce guys to me.  He's very funny."

[2012.03.05] JULIAN CHEUNG WALKS IN MONGKOK CASUALLY

Julian Cheung Chi Lam, Annie Liu (Lau Sum Yau), Christine Kuo two nights ago worked on the Patrick Kong (Yip Lim Sum)'s film NATURAL BORN LOVERS (TIN SUN OI CHING KONG) in Mongkok.  In the story Chilam wore a cute beer hat and went on a walk with Lau Sum Yau, but they ran into his old flame Christine Kuo.  Although it was just a few minutes, due to all the noise and flash photography from the crowd the production was affected.  To keep the cast from disturbance, the crew raised black cloth for cover but the people still knelt down to take photos.

Chilam often dined in Mongkok and would try to coordinate photo requests.  He said, "An artist doesn't need to be too emotional, no artist is more famous than Chow Yun Fat and he too always takes the bus and the MTR!"  Has he run into an ex like the story?  Chilam said, "I haven't because most of my exes are my good friends and they aren't too many anyway.  My wife (Anita) Yuen Wing Yi wouldn't be jealous.  She has always encouraged me to make more friends."

Lau Sum Yau admitted that with Chilam and the crew's protection she was not worried about the chaos.  "I have shopped here for undergarment, but I have to pick the right time to come."  She and Chilam had kiss scenes but they happened in a very natural environment, so she would not be embarrassed.

[2012.03.03] ANNIE LIU PRAISES JULIAN CHEUNG

courtesy of on.cc

Annie Liu (Lau Sum Yau), Julian Cheung Chi Lam, Kathy Tong Yi, Jinny Ng Yeuk Hei and Ciwi Lam Sze Man earlier rehearsed their new film NATURAL BORN LOVERS (TIN SUN OI CHING KONG).  Although Chi Lam is 40, he successfully had the three "little girls" under his spell as they fought for photos with him.  Even Sum Yau had nothing but praise for Chilam.  "He is 'four good', good husband, good father, good actor and
good singer."  Chilam who appeared in a chef look revealed that normally he cooked for his wife, who praised his abalone instant noodle.

Sum Yau has not made a Hong Kong film in a long time, so she had trouble with her Cantonese lines.  Later she admitted that she was a little nervous.

Stephen Shiu Yeuk Yuen's film company two nights ago held its spring banquet.  Attendees included Julian Cheung Chi Lam, Annie Liu (Lau Sum Yau), Irene Wan Bik Ha and Chrissie Chau Sau Na.  Irene revealed that she was in a new film negotiation with the company, but next week she will work on a Wise Guy movie first.  She will even play a domineering "Ah Soh".  She said, "I have never tried this type of character, I really want to give it a try.  Fortunately I have always liked to watch mob films."

Aside from movies, Irene was also in negotiation for Mainland series and in April she will even release a record.

Cheung Chi Lam will start work on his new film next week and need to lose five pounds.  Two days ago however he broke his diet and had starch.  He even had two bowls of ramen, which he thought was crazy.  To penalize himself, he took the MTR and walked all over.  He also decided starting yesterday he would not eat.  He said, "Earlier during the concerts I had a six pack ab, at the time I admired myself very much and was full of self confidence.  Now my confidence is no longer strong, so no matter what I have to train my six pack ab back.  (In the film do you have to show your abs?)  The script won't be out for two days, but I am worried I will have to.  So I will have to prepare to be in my best shape!"  Aside from losing weights for this film, later he will have to lose 15 more pounds for THE GRANDMASTERS (YUT DOI JUNG SI) additional scene.  He will have to lose 20 pounds in total.

The film NATURAL BORN LOVERS (TIN SUN OI CHING KONG) yesterday held a production start ceremony.  Attendees included Julian Cheung Chi Lam, Annie Liu (Lau Sum Yau), Mandy Wong Chi Man, Oscar Leung Lit Wai, Ava Yu Hiu and Jinny Ng Yeuk Hei.  Director Patrick Kong (Yip im
Sum) and boss Stephen Shiu Jr. also attended.  The director arranged for nine actresses to pose with Chi Lam.  Chi Lam admitted that he almost had a nosebleed from seeing Sum Yau in her nurse uniform.

Chi Lam also revealed that many bachelor friends used visiting him as a excuse to see Lau Sum Yau.  He also praised Sum Yau as the hottest single girl in the business.  He had some male friends with decent qualities and hoped to match up with her!  Sum Yau laughed and said that she was an otaku and only wanted to focus on making movies.  Chi Lam said that many thought Lau Sum Yau was beyond their reach.  They would spend the time to make a movie to get to know her.

In the film Sum Yau played a troublesome girlfriend who was a control freak with her boyfriend.  Was Chi Lam's wife Anita Yuen Wing Yi the same way?  He awkwardly said, "I forgot."  Earlier he was often caught on the streets with Len Len yelling at him.  Chi Lam helplessly said, "I have no comment.  I feel reporters didn't want to waste their photos."

With rising popularity recently, Wong Chi Man yesterday was late.  This was her first movie and first collaboration with Yip Lim Sum.  In the film she played Chi Lam's sister and a couple with Leung Lit Wai again.  Wong Chi man admitted that she was very nervous about her first film, but she would see it was a good learning opportunity.

The 2011 JADE SOLID GOLD BEST TOP MUSIC AWARDS took place last night at the Tseung Kwan O Television City as the final report card of the music industry this year.  Although the five major record labels have already resolved the royalty issues with TVB, they did not make it in time to have songs on the chart.  As for the Asia Pacific Most Popular Male and Female Singers and the Most Popular Male and Female Singer awards, TVB's own Raymond Lam Fung won the Asia Pacific Most Popular Male Singer award for the third year in a row and with the song CHOK won the Solid Gold Gold Song award.  Wong Yuen Chi surprisingly won her first Asia Pacific Most Popular Female Singer.  Leo Ku Kui Ke won his fourth Most Popular Male Singer.  The Most Popular Female Singer went to Joey Yung Cho yi for the seventh time.  Joey this year won 14 awards at four award shows and defeated Eason Chan Yik Shun who won 12.

Last night Eric Tsang Chi Wai, Amigo Chu Kin Bong, Christine Ng Wing Mei and the Grasshoppers were hosts.  Among the five major record labels, Warner and Sony executives were on hand, but only 70 singers attended.  Mainly Emperor held down the fort.  Five major singers Eason Chan Yik Shun, Kay Tse On Kay and Hacken Lee Hak Kun remained without awards.  The award show opened with a group of rookie singers and the Grasshopppers' performance, then immediately presented the first Solid Gold award to the Grasshoppers.  Without five major singers, Pong Nan Yik Bong, Wong Cho Nam, Ken Hung Cheuk Lap and William Chan Wai Ting were all in the front row.  Even Chan Wai Ting who only wrote one song won the Most Popular Creative Singer Bronze Prize.

Asia Pacific Most Popular Hong Kong Male Singer went to Lam Fung for the third time as he defeated the earlier rumored winners of the Grasshoppers and Leo Ku Kui Ke.  When Lam Fung was announced, Lady Ng could not help but screamed Chok King.  He stated that the first time he won this award he forgot to thank many people.  The most important was for him to thank a group of people who trusted him and gave him opportunities.  He said, "I don't mind too much about how I feel, what I mind the most is the feeling that I give them."  He also thanked TVB for cultivating him all along and thanked elders like Ng Yu.  He also thanked all of his fans who never abandoned him.  He also hoped that all the singers would be together again on the stage and perform better year after year.

Asia Pacific Most Popular Female Singer went surprisingly to Ivana Wong Yuen Chi for the first time as she defeated the earlier rumored winner Joey Yung Cho Yi.  When the host announced Wong Yuen Chi, she was stunned in the audience and said not to scare her and said to Gillian Chung Yun Tung who was next to her, "No way."  She said that this was a great award.  She had to calm down and think about what to say.  Then tearfully she said that all along she put all her heart into making good music, from the first day in the business to today the seventh year.  She has never thought about winning any major award.  She wanted to thank people who encouraged her.  She also thanked TVB, East Asia Records, fans and the entire music team.  She said, "if some feels that I have to work even harder, I will do my best to fulfill the singer duty."  Wong Yuen Chi after performing received a standing ovation from the singers.

The Most Popular Female Singer went to seven time winner Yung Cho Yi, an expected result.  When Lee Hak Kun presented the award to Joey, Joey said to him, "You come back.  The first year when he and I won an award, that was when he got married.  Now he has two sons.  I really feel very happy, thank you TVB for encouraging me again.  Many people said that since it wasn't the first award, aren't you used to it?  Actually no, this year I worked very hard on learning to play the guitar, spent a lot of time to communicate with music.  Hopefully next year I would reach this destination."  The Most Popular Male Singer went to four time winner Ku Kui Ke.  On the stage he thanked Emperor and TVB and said that 18 years ago when he released his first record, he was a kid who really liked singing.  Now he will produce his Cantonese and Mandarin record, make his own music video.  Now he not only liked, he loved his music job very much.  He tearfully said, "In recent years at Hong Kong award shows, everyone's attention has been on who competed with who, the power struggle between companies and less on the effort and hard work that singers paid.  I started to get a little confused on the meaning of attending ceremonies, but when I brought the awards to celebrations, company colleagues would be very excited and emotional, every year I would go to fan club meetings and bring this award for fans to take pictures with.  I saw how happy the fans were, and I realized that to them it was very important."

The Solid Gold Gold Prize went to Lam Fung's CHOK.  Lam Fung said that this award did not belong to him but to all of Hong Kong, because Chok was a creation of Hong Kong.  He said, "I want to thank very much musicians who have worked very hard with me this year.  This year I have experienced a lot of rises and falls, hopefully everyone will bring my Chok back.  Next Year I will Chok for everyone again."  Last night Yung Cho Yi and Lam Fung both won four awards.  With the earlier Metro Radio, Radio Hong Kong and Commercial Radio and last night's TVB music awards, Yung Cho Yi won 14 awards and defeated Chan Yik Shun with his 12 awards to become the year's big winner.

When Joyce Cheng Yun Yi received the Most Popular Female Rookie silver prize, she broke down in tears and joked that she did not have looks, figures or long legs, but she would continue to work hard.  This award was a good start.  She also thanked her mother Lydia Shum Din Ha.  The Female Rookie Gold Prize winner Lam Yun Tung was teary eyed.  When Ng Wing Mei announced her friend Cheung Chi Lam's Solid Gold award, she screamed in excitement and pointed out that her good friend waited for 20 years and finally got it.  Cheung Chi Lam thanked TVB and his company and also said that he only took a small step forward.  Guest performers included Tat Ming, Sally Yeh (Yip Sin Man), Jeff Chan Shun Jit and five major's Hacken Lee Hak Kun.

Yet he was unwilling to reveal their relationship in the film. He only said that they would have a breakthrough performance. Would he perform in the buff? He said that everyone would know when they go to the movies. Ultimately it would not be the usual him. This time he played something that others would not do. Siu Tin also revealed that the director had bad luck during the shoot as he often ran into the director's chair.

[2011.04.20] JACKY CHEUNG URGES FOOD BANK DONATIONS

courtesy of singtao.com

courtesy of takungpao.com

Jacky Cheung Hok Yau after completing the fifth show of his concert series two nights ago took a two day break before continuing on with the remaining 15 shows. During this break, Hok Yau after the show two nights ago announced good news. He urged friends to give rice instead of floral arrangements, through the St. James' Settlement People's Food Bank for the needy in Hong Kong. Now over 7,000 kg of rice was already raised. Friends who donated included Andy Lau Tak Wa, Nicholas Tse Ting Fung and Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi, Kelly Chen Wai Lam, Tong Hok Tak, Julian Cheung Chi Lam and Anita Yuen Wing Yi, Joey Yung Cho Yi and others.

When Hok Yau appeared he tripped on the bags of rice on the stage. Hok Yau sat on the bag and joked, "After the concert my legs are inevitably wobbly, haha." Later, manager Chan Suk Fun and Director Andrew Lau Wai Keung who produced the concert music film and animation cut a cake to celebrate the successful performance.

Hok Yau was unable to attend the Hong Kong Film Award due to his concert. Hok Yau said that he never thought that he would be a Best Actor nominee. Because the character in the film was very light, he was surprised to be nominated and joked that he treated it like he won twice.
He also did not forget to congratulate Best Actor Nicholas Tse Ting Fung. Were the results what he expected? He said that he did not have any expectation so he did not think about it before. However he has seen Lau Ka Ling's award winning film and thought that the film revolved around the male character. Ka Ling and the other actress Li Bingbing did not have a lot of screen time, but Ka Ling performed very well. Did he feel bad for his co-star Tang Wei? Hok Yau said, "No, because every nominee are of a certain caliber. You might as well say no matter who won you had to feel bad for the others." Ting Fung defeated four elders. Hok Yau said learning has no order, not to mention that Nick Cheung Ka Fai already won Best Actor two years ago and Chow Yun Fat was a Best Actor frequent guest. Would Hok Yau see Best Actor as a goal? He honestly said, "You can be only if you put in an effort, I really haven't so I don't deserve the award."
