The just married actress Rene Liu (Lau Yeuk Ying), Harlem Yu Ching Hing, child star Xu Jiao and Taiwan new comer Chen Hui-Min starred STARRY STARRY NIGHT (SING HUNG) has been officially selected to compete at the 16th Pusan International Film Festival. The film will hold its global premiere on October 11 in Pusan. Director Lin Shu-Yu will lead Lau Yeuk Ying, Xu Jiao, Yu Ching Hing, Chen Hui-Min and others to attend the event.

STARRY STARRY NIGHT is a live action film based on a Taiwan illustration book. Earlier its first trailer was released. Golden Horse award Best Actress Zhou Xun was deeply touched. "It's like the beautiful life that we all have experienced." NO PUEDO VIVIR SIN TI director Leon Dai Lap Yun said, "STARRY STARRY NIGHT enters a painting with the starry sky, enters a dream with childhood, and loves like the first time."

Karen Mok Man Wai who just returned from South Africa stayed in Hong Kong for half a day before rushing to Beijing and Shanghai to promote her upcoming Mainland film release THE LAW OF ATTRACTION. Karen and Taiwan director and actor Leon Dai for the first time officially. Although they performed in the film TEMPTING HEART (SUM DUNG) over ten years ago, they did not have any official scene together. Thus this time was considered their first collaboration. In the film they played a couple who have been married for seven years and began to have problems. The husband finally discovered his wife's affair, thus someone deliberately created an accident. Yet after the accident they were able to pick up their initial love again.

Karen said that working with Leon Dai felt great, especially because he was also the director. Before the shoot they were able to properly communicate and she was made to get into the character easier. During the passion scene they had no embarrassment and performed very naturally. Karen said, "This time I learned a lot, working with Director Dai I came out ahead. (What is the key for a couple getting along?) I am not married yet, I really don't know how to answer. However I feel they have to learn to appreciate each other, whether good or bad they have to learn to tolerate." Because Karen's character was injured in an accident, most of the time she had to put on wound make up. However she thought she was more beautiful and even joked, "Honestly, I have never seen a complete facial injury that looked so pretty."

The John Woo (Ng Yu Sum) produced wuxia film REIGN OF ASSASSINS (GIM YU) earlier held a premiere in Beijing. The segment that honored Ng Yu Sum was the most emotional, as the event displayed footage of his Venice award acceptance but suddenly added his daughter Angeles Woo (Ng Fei Ha)'s thoughts about his award. Ng Yu Sum broke down after seeing the words that her daughter said for him. Attending the premiere were director Su Chao-Bin, actors Michelle Yeoh (Yeung Chi King), Jung Woo-Sung, Barbie Hsu (Tsui Hei Woon), Shawn Yue Man Lok, Wang Xueqi, Paw Hee Ching, Pace Wu (Ng Pui Chi) and Leon Dai Lap Yan. The entire audience gave a three minute standing ovation.

The actors proceeded to perform. Yue Man Lok stood out the most as he made noodles on stage. He then jumped rope with the noodles he made and lighten the mood. Most actors performed with swords. When Jung Woo-Sung drew his sword it broke in half. Actually it was a set up, the

missing half of the sword was already in Jung Woo-Sung's chest. Yeung Chi King and Jung Woo-Sung embraced each other. She said that from the first day of their collaboration they fought, later they held hands at any public event as a message of mutual support.

Taiwan star Kwai Lun-Mei who has always had a pristine image in the new film THE STOOL PIGEON (SIN YUN) made a breakthrough and played a mob boss' girlfriend. She also had a peck with one of the male leads Nicholas Tse Ting Fung. Kwai Lun-Mei expressed that if the story required it she absolutely would not mind even more passionate kiss scenes or even bed scene. She absolutely was willing to make the sacrifice for art.

Taiwan star Kwai Lun-Mei earlier came to Hong Kong to promote THE STOOL PIGEON, in which she played mob boss Lu Yi's girlfriend and also had a relationship with Tse Ting Fung. She said, "This time the character is different, with both dramatic and action scenes. She isn't like SECRET (BUT NUNG SHUET DIK BEI MUK)'s sweet girl and would roar a lot." She also said that she had a kiss scene with Ting Fung but it was not too passionate.

Reportedly Ting Fung turned down bed scenes due to his wife Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi. Kwai Lun-Mei said, "I am not certain how he communicated with the director. The first draft had it, but I too felt a bed scene wouldn't be right for that moment. A kiss scene would be more reasonable." After working with Ting Fung she realized that he was very hard working and serious. Her eyes were opened. Did she mind bed scenes herself? She said, "I wouldn't mind if I have chemistry with the co-star." Kwai Lun-Mei said that this time the fight scenes were a lot of fun and she did not think they were tough. She said, "After the shoot I was bruised, my kneecap was swollen, my thigh infected, but I had a lot of fun from it." Claiming to be tough, she was the type that would not spare herself when seeking a sense of achievement. Did she enjoy abusing herself? She joked, "When I was done I was so excited. Since I have the chance, if I didn't do it I would have lost the chance."

As for her new film co-stars, Kwai Lun-Mei praised Nick Cheung Ka Fai as warm. Fearing that she might be lonely, he would ask her to go to dinner together. Kwai Lun-Mei's Taiwan director and actor boyfriend Leon Dai Lap Yan has said that he would make a movie with her when he won the Best Director Award at the 10th Chinese Film Media Award. Kwai Lun-Mei said that he still has not asked her yet. Lately they have been busy and have not seen each other in a long time. Would she play coy when they have a disagreement? She said, "I keep work and life very separate. I have been in the business for 10 years. I have never argued with the director."
