[2011.12.17] CANDY YU STEALS THE SHOW FROM ZHOU XUN

The world's first 3D wu xia film FLYING SWORDS OF DRAGON GATE (LUNG MOON FEI GAP 3D) two nights ago held its premiere in Macau.  Director Tsui Hark and the cast including Jet Li (Lee Nin Kit), Zhou Xun, Chen Kun, Chris Lee Yuchun, and Kwai Lun-Mei walked the red carpet together.  Lead actors Lee Nin Kit and Chen Kun both wore black suits.  Lee Nin Kit had a pair of sunglasses and was full of star power.  Lead actresses Zhou Xun and Lee Yuchun appeared in blue and red, but they could not rival guest Candy Yu On On's fire.

With a lot of performance experience Lee Yuchun and Chen Kun fought over the new comer title.  Lee Yuchun said that she was the newest among the cast, but Chen Kun said that he was a 3D film new comer.  Lee Yuchun pointed out that working with a group of experienced actors was stressful for her, but fortunately she learned a lot during the process.  She thought while making a movie her body had to handle a lot, which was very different from singing.  In the film she had to wield a 30 catty Guan Blade.  After every training her arms would be very tired.  Later she even discovered that she had "little mice" in her arms.  In the film Lee Yuchun fought with Mavis Fan Hiu Huen for Chen Kun, finally Lee Yuchun ended up with him.  Would Yuchun fight for someone she likes in real life?  She said that she has always been more passive.  This time she played the character in the film.

How many points would Chen Kun give Lee Yuchun?  Chen Kun praised this new comer for being a pleasant surprise for everyone.  However he joked that once he and the crew watched Yuchun sing on television and thought that she looked very handsome when she sang.  They could not help but sent her praises via text messages.  When Yuchun returned to the set he thought she was completely different.  Chen Kun also said that he already saw FLYING in the Beijing premiere and described it as "shocking".

Kwai Lun-Mei this time in the film played a tough character.  Some said that she originally wanted to play Fan Hiu Huen's gentler character.  Kwai Lun_Mei denied that and said that she wanted to try different characters.  She joked that perhaps the director saw STOOL PIGEON (SIN YUN) and thought that she could play tough too.  In the film she had many action scenes, which were the greatest challenges in her career because she had to wield many large weapons.  Did she want to shake off that pristine image with this film?  She said that it was not deliberate, as she took roles naturally.

Emperor's 2012 heavyweight new film THE VIRAL FACTOR (YIK JIN) paired up Jay Chou (Chow Kit Lun) and Nicholas Tse Ting Fung in a film for the first time. Earlier in the Jordan short film, they personally performed many chase and gun fight scenes. In coordination with the Jordan location and tanks, fighter jets and battleships that were rarely seen in Hong Kong film, the film created a Hollywood action film feel that was new to Hong Kong's eyes and ears. Jay honestly said that the pressure was enormous during the shoot.


The Emperor hit films BEAST STALKER (JING YUN) and STOOL PIGEON (SIN YUN) director Dante Lam Chiu Yin directed new film THE VIRAL FACTOR cost HK$200 million. The locations even reached Jordan, Malaysia and China. After the Jordan trailer was released earlier, Jay's cool sunglasses look, Ting Fung's mysterious prisoner look and the film's many gun fights and explosion scenes led to many raves on the streets. Many left praised on YouTube and the cast and the crew did not feel their effort was wasted.


Jay honestly said that he had to handle a lot of gun fight and action scenes. Although the pressure was huge, he had quite a sense of satisfaction. He said, "The director put an effort into how every actor held the gun before the shoot. He wanted us to give the audience a professional impression. Finally every time I shot a scene with a gun, I asked workers with military experience on hand whether my posture was correct. I looked forward to seeing the entire VIRAL FACTOR very much."


Ting Fung with STOOL PIGEON won the Hong Kong Film Award Best Actor. Working with Lam Chiu Yin again, he said, "THE VIRAL FACTOR's story was more crisp and clean with its positioning and pacing. I like my opening scene very much and appreciate very much such a thoughtful arrangement from Director Lam Chiu Yin."

The fresh out of the oven Best Actress Carina Lau Ka Ling and Best Actor Nicholas Tse Ting Fung after the Hong Kong Film Award attended the Emperor Motion Picture celebration. First time Best Actress Ka Ling had quite a flair, saying that she would put her husband Tony Leung Chiu Wai's award to the side and put her Best Actress award in the center. Ting Fung rushed home after interviews at the celebration, perhaps he was in a hurry to celebrate with his wife Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi.

The 30th Hong Kong Film Award two nights ago ended at the Cultural Center. DETECTIVE DEE AND THE MYSTERY OF THE PHANTOM FLAME (DIK YUN KIT ji TUNG TIN DAI GOK)'s first time Best Actress Lau Ka Ling STOOL PIGEON (SIN YUN)'s first time Best Actor Tse Ting Fung posed for photos together backstage. Ka Ling even received her husband's flower delivery, which melted Ka Ling and left her very touched.

Ka Ling said that she did not have time to call Wai Jai yet. Speaking of the very warm text message that her husband sent her, Ka Ling revealed that he sent "No matter what, you in my heart are always the Best Actress". Was she very touched? She said, "Yes." Ka Ling thanked her friends and the media who have supported her for years and grew up with her. How would she share with her husband? She said, "He always shared with me before, but I think when he saw me won this award he was more touched than me." Ka Ling honestly said that her husband regrettably was not by her side, but nothing in the world could be perfect. Where would she put the award? She said, "I would set aside his awards and put mine in the middle." Her mother was also very touched and teary eyed in the audience. Ka Ling said that every time she was disappointed her mother was the saddest. This time she should be shedding tears of joy. Ting Fung backstage said that after the company celebration he would return home. He said that he was not good at small talk and chit chat. Would he give the award to his wife? He said sure.

After the award ceremony, Ting Fung and Ka Ling attended the Emperor celebration at 1881. Zhou Xun, Joey Yung Cho Yi, Stephen Fung Tak Lun, Jackie Chan, Albert Yeung Sau Sing and Deep Ng Ho Hong attended. Ka Ling was quite flashy at the event. Did her husband Leung Chiu Wai call to congratulate her? Ka Ling said, "He already called. He was more nervous than I was. Wai Jai is working overseas and watched the broadcast with Siu Bo (Derek Yee Tung Sing). Siu Bo said that he deliberately prohibited Wai Jai from supporting me in person. He explained that Wai Jai was not lucky for me, but he was just joking. Wai Jai's absence was not an imperfection, life always has regret." Chow Yun Fat lost to Ting Fung, was the regrettable? Ka Ling said, "No, even Fat Gor said, the future of film relies on young people. Enjoyment will come first in my future role selection." Did winning Best Actress complete her life mission? Ka Ling said, "I still have to catch up to Leung Chiu Wai, he has over ten awards. I have quite awhile. He even has a Cannes Best Actor award. When there is a will there is a way, I would put the award between Wai Jai's awards. After one night I would give it to Mommy." Ka Ling joked that she was so happy she might even laugh in her dreams. How could she be so calm on the stage? Ka Ling said, "I am older, after years in the business I learn to relax. Maybe my reaction is a little slow, after calming them then I feel the joy. Now my head is spinning as if it is in the clouds." Ka Ling said, after the award she would not raise her rates. Actress salary has always been around there. She would only play her roles well. With her age role selection is already very limited.

Ting Fung at the party said that after the interviews he would rush home. Was he in a hurry to have another child? Ting Fung responded, "Actually it's late." Ting Fung explained that the celebration had too many people, so he was not at liberty to bring his wife Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi. As for Pak Chi being moved to tears, Ting Fung said that he tried to gauge his wife from the stage but too many people blocked his line of vision. Ting Fung also said that he immediately called his father Patrick Tse Yin. As for what they said, Ting Fung said, "I got it, it's words between men. Papa told me to go home and have a drink, I don't need to say too much." Ting Fung during his acceptance apologized to his father. Ting Fung explained, "I feel it's the most suitable venue. When I was 18 and won Best New Performer, I said something that I haven't been comfortable with for 12 years. In addition Papa isn't young anymore. Those words still floated around in my head when I was 26 or 27." As for international superstar Chow Yun Fat praising Ting Fung on the stage and said that he would support him, Ting Fung said, "Thank you Fat Gor for the praise, willing to have the younger generation a chance. I truly don't deserve it, I can only do my part." Would he like to win with Pak Chi? Ting Fung said, "Getting another nomination it is still a problem."

Two nights ago ATV broadcast Hong Kong Film Award while TVB aired the GRACE UNDER FIRE (NUI KUEN) finale. According to TVB announced ratings, GRACE UNDER FIRE's highest rating was 34 point and average rating was 32 point. Hong Kong Film Award's average rating was 7 point and highest rating was 10; however ATV was dissatisfied with the rating result and thought that TVB never changing 650 household sample was unreliable. ATV public relations department even questioned whether the competition could trust a report that TVB paid for. Whenever ATV had good programs someone would bring "false" rating reports to strike at ATV, which would only move ATV more forward and innovate to give viewers more choices. With ATV broadcast of the Hong Kong Film Award, TVB no longer has power to monopolize all important programs and the age of monopoly has ended. Next week, ATV will announce the Hong Kong University rating survey about the Hong Kong Film Award. TVB said that the 650 household sample was the only recognized report for television stations and advertisers alike, TVB was not the only client. If the information was false, ATV should directly reflect to the authorities.

Emperor Motion Picture and Huayi Brothers two nights ago held a celebration in Tsim Sha Tsui. Nick Cheung Ka Fai two nights ago lost to Nicholas Tse Ting Fung and could not win Best Actor, but he still attended the celebration. Why was he so relaxed? Ka Fai said that on the day of the nomination announce he already called Ting Fung. Because they were co-stars, Ka Fai said that he saw how hard Ting Fung worked. Of course he was asked whether he wanted to win, of course he wanted to. However seeing Ting Fung win was good as well. He said, "Although Best Actor is a personal award, it was the only award for STOOL PIGEON. I am very happy that Ting Fung won it this time." Would he ask him to dinner and celebrate? As for a raise for Ting Fung, Yeung Sau Sing said that Ting Fung would be pleased but did not need any deliberate encouragement. Yeung Sau Sing said, "He wouldn't nitpick with me. Since his birth to now, I watch him grow for 30 years." As for a special celebration for Ting Fung, he said that they might not have time because Ting Fung had to rush to Malaysia for a movie. Yeung Sau Sing said that Ting Fung's new film THE VIRAL FACTOR (YIK JIN) shot many grand scenes with planes and cannons and spent over 180 million. He was confident that it would make next year's Hong Kong Film Award. In addition, two nights ago Yeung Sau Sing, Cheung Ka Fai, Lau Ka Ling and Tse Ting Fung along with Jackie Chan, Zhou Xun, Joey Yung Cho Yi, Deep Ng Ho Hong, Tsui Hark, Shi Nansun and Stephen Fung Tak Lun attended. William Chan Wai Ting and his former rumored girlfriend Angelababy also attended.

The Best Actor favorite Nicholas Tse Ting Fung received Chow Yun Fat's support as the "film industry successor". After over ten years in the business, Ting Fung tonight with STOOL PIGEON (SIN YUN) challenges elders Chow Yun Fat, Tony Leung Ka Fai, Nick Cheung Ka Fai and Jacky Cheung Hok Yau for the Hong Kong Film Award Best Actor. According to reliable sources, the final round's 50 voters saw Fat Gor and Ting Fung as the favorites. Fat Gor yesterday picked Ting Fung to win. "Among the new generation of actors his improvement has been huge, I hope he would be recognized!"

Pak Chi in support of her husband not only postponed all of her work and took the family to relieve stress in Thailand, last year she also started a costume party to cheer on her husband. On the eve of the battle Ting Fung talked about Fat Gor's compliments. "Thank you Fat Gor, but I would face everything normally. I will worry about it when I really win."

Patrick Tse yin said about Fat Gor's praise of his son. "Of course I am happy that he has everyone' recognition, but Fat Jai may be doing it because of me. Honestly, my son is very serious about his acting, so he deserves the praises. Which new comer is like him?" [2011.04.17] FIVE STRONG FILMS COMPETE FOR BEST PICTURE

The 30th Hong Kong Film Award will take place tonight at the Cultural Center. Seen as the final award of the year, Best Picture nominees include GALLANTS (DAI LUI TOI), DETECTIVE DEE AND THE MYSTERY OF THE PHANTOM FLAME (DIK YUN KIT ji TUNG TIN DAI GOK), IP MAN 2, STOOL PIGEON (SIN YUN) and REIGN OF ASSASSINS (GIM YU). Before the battle they have already become the hot topic!

This year's Hong Kong Film Award Best Picture nominees have one thing in common, they are all full of martial art fighting elements and prove that in recent years the film market focuses more on martial art action subjects. The most special part is the directors of five Best Picture nominees are also nominated for Best Director, proving that every film is an exciting. Out of the five films, the Tsui Hark directed film DETECTIVE has the best chance. The film received 13 nominations, the most this year. It is the favorite for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actress.

However changes may still take place. The John Woo (Ng Yu Sum) produced, Su Chao-Bin directed REIGN has 11 nominations, second only to DETECTIVE. Under producer Ng Yu Sum, the director achieved a wuxia film romantic beauty and its chance increased. The Raymond Wong Pak Ming, Li Xiaoran and An Xiaofen produced IP MAN 2 last year broke 200 million in the Mainland with a better story and pace than the first film. In addition IP MAN in 2009 already won Best Picture so it had a chance to win again.

Another commercial and critical hit STOOL had the frequently awarded in recent years director Dante Lam Chiu Yin and Nick Cheung Ka Fai. Earlier STOOL won many awards in the Mainland as shots of confidence for the Hong Kong Film Award Best Picture. As for the Lam Ka Tung produced GALLANTS, although its cast and production budget were lacking in comparison to its competition, its word of mouth far exceeded expectation. It was a rare work of sincerity in recent years. Earlier at the 17th Hong Kong Film Critic Society Award it won Best Picture.

Nick Cheung Ka Fai with the Emperor Film STOOL PIGEON (SIN YUN) was nominated for the Hong Kong Film Award Best Actor, in competition with his co-star Nicholas Tse Ting Fung, Jacky Cheung Hok Yau, Chow Yun Fat and Tony Leung Ka Fai. Ting Fung yesterday shopped for clothing to wear to the show with his wife Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi. Ka Fai meanwhile was settling his emotions then considered whether he would wear the award winning white suit again. As for his chances, Ka Fai said, "Every nominee is at least on par. (Being polite before the battle?) It's not like we are getting in a ring to fight! (Have you begun to lose sleep from being nervous?) I have always been a long term sleep loss sufferer."

Nominated for Best Actress with another Emperor film DETECTIVE DEE AND THE MYSTERY OF THE PHANTOM FLAME (DIK YUN KIT ji TUNG TIN DAI GOK), Carina Lau Ka Ling due to many label fashion and jewelry sponsorships for the red carpet was still undecided. Ka Ling perhaps was waiting to find out whether her husband Tony Leung Chiu Wai would accompany her.

The Mainland's first year and border crossing youth film exchange and award event, Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Youth Film Festival has already come to an end. The closing ceremony took place earlier in Guangzhou. Special guest Nick Cheung Ka Fai received cheers from over 100
young people when he arrived. When he was announced the "The Most Popular With Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Youth Excellent Actor", the entire venue applauded and cheered passionately. Ka Fai said that he was very happy to accept this award because this was his first award with STOOL PIGEON (SIN YUN). He was not only happy but also hoped that everyone would continue to support his performance. He also thanked director Dante Lam Chiu Yin for putting him in such a good movie. He also joked that many people thought he has been accepting awards for years, but actually he has only won each of the awards once. He hoped that the good performance would continue to come.

Reporters asked whether he hoped to win the Hong Kong Film Award Best Actor again. He honestly said that of course he would, but he would be happy no matter who won because everyone were solid actors. In addition the recent Mainland critical and commercial hit LET THE BULLETS FLY won Most Popular with Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Excellent Picture and Most Popular with Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Excellent Director.

Excellent Actress went to AFTER SHOCK's Xu Fan. Excellent Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress were SACRIFICE's Huang Xiaoming and IF YOU ARE THE ONE 2's Yao Chen. Excellent New Stars included UNDER THE HAWTHORN TREE's Dou Xiao and Zhou Dongyu and HOT SUMMER DAYS' Jing Boran. The Most Popular Actor and Actress were Huang Xiaoming and Shu Qi; the most popular on screen couple was Ge You and Shu Qi, UNDER THE HAWTHORN TREE was the most romantic film, Best Recommended Film was ECHOES OF THE RAINBOW (SHUI YUET SUN TAU). CITY OF DREAM won Special Prize.

This year with the film STOOL PIGEON (SIN YUN) was nominated for the 30th Hong Kong Film Award Best Actor. After quietly toiling away in show business for 20 years, Ka Fai's acting already has recognition from everywhere. Ka Fai shared his acting experience on the program with host Lo Man Yi. He also felt that in order to succeed, aside from hard work he also had to rely on natural talent.

The 30th Hong Kong Film Awards will take place on April 17. Yesterday a press conference was held to announce the nominees. DETECTIVE DEE AND THE MYSTERY OF THE PHANTOM FLAME (DIK YUN KIT ji TUNG TIN DAI GOK) received the most nominations with 13. Carina Lau Ka Ling was nominated for Best Actress with the film along with Tang Wei, Miriam Yeung Chin Wa, Josie Ho Chiu Yi and Fiona Sit Hoi Kei. On the other hand Andy Lau Tak Wa was not nominated for Best Actor with the film, but the Best Actor competition remained fierce as CONFUCIUS' Chow Yun Fat would compete with Jacky Cheung Hok Yau, Nick Cheung Ka Fai, Tony Leung Ka Fai and Nicholas Tse Ting Fung.

The Hong Kong Film Award held a press conference yesterday. Attending guests included the Hong Kong Film Award Association chair Gordon Chan Ka Seung, Cheung Ka Fai, Paw Hee Ching and Dante Lam Chiu Yin. This year is the Hong Kong Film Award's 30th anniversary, the event
designed a series of special effects to open the ceremony. A light show will coordinate with firework in the shape of 30 in Victoria Harbor. This year's award ceremony received 5.98 million in film development fund sponsorships; ATV, Now TV and Hong Kong Radio 2 will broadcast the event live.

Always the center of attention, the Best Actor and Best Actress competitions continue to be fierce this year. Best Actor in particular includes nominees like CONFUCIUS' Chow Yun Fat, CROSSING HENNESSY's Jacky Cheung Hok Yau, BRUCE LEE MY BROTHER's Tony Leung Ka Fai and STOOL PIGEON's Nick Cheung Ka Fai and Nicholas Tse Ting Fung. Currently working
in the Mainland Gat Gor was happy and excited to learn about the nomination. Fat Gor was already nominated for Asian Film Award Best Actor with LET THE BULLETS FLY, which one was he more confident about? He honestly said it was very hard to say. He has not thought about winning an award in a long time because he has not received a Hong Kong Film Award nominations for years, but he would be happy if he would win and happy for others if he would not. Fat Gor would like to participate if he would not be in the Mainland. Speaking of CONFUCIUS, he pointed out that the character was harder to play because he had to play him from middle to old age, the dialogues were in formal Putonghua and he was a historical figure with different image and opinions in everyone's hearts. During the shoot he had a lot of pressure. He had to thank Chui Bo Chu, Yee Chung Man and Peter Pau Tak Fun for this nomination.

Cheung Ka Fai was very happy to learn about his nomination at the press conference. He said that two years ago director Dante Lee Chiu Yin did not receive a Best Director nomination with BEAST STALKER (JING YUN), which he minded a lot. This year he was very happy for the director. He pointed out that that Hong Kong Mainland film co-productions had to meet the market demand, which made maintaining personal style difficult. In recent years he attended many film festivals but as a human he would play favorites. The music of the Hong Kong Film Award was extra intimate. Speaking of his strong competition, Ka Fai said that everyone was strong. He had confidence in himself, if he said that he would win for sure then he would be too arrogant. He would already be happy for anyone from STOOL PIGEON who won, whether it would be him or Ting Fung. Earlier he was afraid that he has won before and he would not win again, but he believed the Hong Kong Film Award was fair. During the first round voting, he voted for himself and Kwai Lun-Mei for Best Actress. Teddy Robin Kwan had quite a major part in GALLANTS (DA LUI TOI) but was only nominated for Best Supporting Actor. Ka Fai said that this was the film company's calculation and measurement, he thought Teddy Robin was a Lead Actor. Tse Ting Fung said that he would face it in peace because if he was too confident he would give himself pressure, which instead was not good. He thought that this was not his credit, completely because of a good director, good actors, everything together I was able to play such a good character.

In addition, Lam Chiu Yin was very happy for finally receiving a nomination. Yet earlier Ka Fai won so many awards, which already filled the void in his heart. This time STOOL PIGEON had great response and he was very happy that Ting Fung, Ka Fai and Uncle Chi were all nominated. Was he confident about the award? He joked that he was confident about walking the red carpet. When asked whether Ting Fung or Ka Fai would win, he honestly said that it was very hard to pick. The best would be dual Best Actors. Yet Ka Fai has always won so many awards earlier, giving one to Ting Fung would be good too.

[2011.01.23] HONG KONG FILM CRITIC ASSOCIATION SELECTS TOP TEN CHINESE FILMS

The Hong Kong Film Critic Association yesterday announced the 2010 China Hong Kong Taiwan film critic alliance's top ten Chinese and foreign films". Due to the gradually closer relationship between the three lands on both sides of the strait, the selected films or "nominated" films were films that are the most worth recommended to the general audience of all three places. Thus the selection method will no longer be decided by the film's commercial achievement but by film critic's review and evaluation of the film. The order was based on the scores that each organization provided to make the results even more representative. The most important point is the event hoped to display the different results from the three places and not the overall results. Due to films of the three locations have their own merits and the points of view are not completely identical, the timing for a Best Picture for all three places is not arrived yet. Thus the event hoped viewers would start with the chance to watch the recommended films of the three places, gradually expanding to mutual understanding and admiration. One day will come when a Best Picture for all three places will be chosen.

The Hong Kong Film Critic Association 2010 Top Ten Chinese Films in order are MERRY GO ROUND (DUNG FUNG BOR), DETECTIVE DEE AND THE MYSTERY OF THE PHANTOM FLAMES (DIK YUN KIT ji TUNG TIN DAI GOK), LOVE IN A PUFF (JI MING YU CHUN GIU), UNDER THE HAWTHORN TREE, BREAK UP CLUB (FUN SAU SHUET OI NEI), STOOL PIGEON (SIN YUN), AFTER SHOCK, REIGN OF ASSASSINS (GIM YU), GALLANTS (DAI LUI TOI) and MONGA. Among foreign films were INCEPTION, THE SOCIAL NETWORK, CONFESSIONS, and THE HURT LOCKER.

Jiang Wen was very happy about LET THE BULLETS FLY's six nomination and will definitely fight for time to attend the award show. Chow Yun Fat was very happy about the Best Actor nomination and thanked director Jiang Wen and the film company, as well as the writers for create a good character for him.

Carina Lau Ka Ling was very happy about her Best Supporting Actress nomination, in particular as Asian Film Awards selected Asia's outstanding films for nominations. Ka Ling said, "Aside from thanking the event, I also have to thank director Jiang Wen for giving me the chance to
perform and writing such a good character. I also have to thank my County Executive husband in the film Ge You. Tomorrow the film will celebrate in Beijing but I will not be able to attend. This nomination is considered the best New Year present from me to this team!" Ka Ling added that she had to thank all the viewers who liked the County Executive wife.

In addition, STOOL PIGEON (SIN YUN) director Dante Lam Chiu Yin was very excited that his cinematographer Tse Chung To received Best Cinematography nomination.

REIGN OF ASSASSINS' Best Actress nominee Michelle (Yeung Chi King) was busy at work in Paris. After receiving the good news she joked that she wanted to celebrate with the boss Peter Lam Kin Ngok. She was even happier to learn about other nominations. She particularly thanked producer John Woo (Ng Yu Sum), director Su Chao-Bin and executive producer Terence Chang (Cheung Ka Chun). How confident was she? She knew that the competition from the Mainland, Japan and South Korea was very strong. Because the award promoted Asian films, she hoped to be able to attend and meet everyone. She looked forward to a new year when everyone continued to contribute more to Asian films.

The Feng Xiaogang directed AFTER SHOCK received four nominations. He deeply thanked and recognized viewers who have seen this film. He particularly felt even deeper the relationship with Mainland comrades, which made him feel blood was thicker than water. At the same time he thanked the admiration of Best Actress nominee Xu Fan.

Emperor Motion Pictures LET THE BULLETS FLY was a hit in Hong Kong and the Mainland, and the Dante Lam Chiu Yin directed STOOL PIGEON (SIN YUN) again won an award. Two nights ago Emperor boss Albert Yeung Sau Sing held a celebration and said that Lam Chiu Yin will have a HK$200 million budget. Director Lam said that Mr. Yeung was a film tycoon.

LET opened on top of the Hong Kong box office and reached 660 million RMB at the Mainland box office and likely would become the highest grossing Mainland film in history. Meanwhile, Emperor film STOOL PIGEON director Lam Chiu Yin at the 11th Strait Bi-Coastal film director forum won the Best Hong Kong and Taiwan director of the Year. Nick Cheung Ka Fai also won the Most Popular Actor and the Most Popular with Guangdong, Hong Kong Macau youth excellent actor" with STOOL PIGEON. Yeung Sau Sing celebrated with Lam Chiu Yin and Cheung Ka Fai two nights ago.

Ka Fai said that he was 1/5 confident about winning an award. Lam Chiu Yin said that at the celebration he would drink Ka Fai under the table. Yeung Sau Sing gave Lam Chiu Yin a 200 million budget for his new film YIK JIN (REVERSE WAR) with Jay Chou (Chow Kit Lun) and negotiating for Daniel Wu (Ng Yin Cho), Nicholas Tse Ting Fung and Louis Koo Tin Lok to star. Lam Chiu Yin said, "I have to talk with Mr. Yeung again about the actor. All three of them are very busy. I have to make certain of their schedules first." The film planned to shoot in Vietnam, Thailand, Jordan and other locations. The originally set Australian location due to the flood was cancelled and had to be adjusted in the script.

Mr. Yeung said, "I am very positive about Hong Kong economy and film industry so I am investing heavily. The next few weeks I have to celebrate every week."
