[2010.12.04] FAN BINGBING HOLDS WANG XUEQI'S HANDS AGAIN OUT OF SPITE

Fan Bingbing since working together with Wang Xueqi on WHEAT has worked together endlessly in recent years. Early this year after the news of Wang Xueqi's divorce surfaced, rumors of a relationship between Bingbing and Wang Xueqi also began. Earlier they went to Shanghai to promote their upcoming holiday film SACRIFICE, the media caught them holding hands. The next day the rumor of "Fan Bingbing and Wang Xueqi are living together" was all over the place.

For herself and Wang Xueqi, Bingbing decides to accept an exclusive interview. Bingbing said, "My entire company calls Teacher Wang Xueqi as Teacher Wang. [2010.12.01] GE YOU HAS THREE MOVIES FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Director Chen Kaige two days ago with actors Ge You, Wang Xueqi, Fan Bingbing and Huang Xiaoming attended the SACRIFICE media event in Shanghai. Chen Kaige praised veteran actors Ge You and Wang Xueqi. Ge You was calm about the title of the "holiday emperor".

Chen Kaige revealed that he has seen the film long ago. At the time he believed in the sincerity of the script. Yet after becoming a father he began to suspect that type of "loyalty" and considered for years before choosing a simple way to tell this story. He even praised Ge You and Wang Xueqi's acting. "Their acting seems like making soup, with a lot of ingredients that finally melt in the soup. The soup is very delicious but the original ingredients can't be seen. It is near perfection."

Ge You has three films during the holiday season and thus was called the "holiday emperor". He calmly said, "Three films appearing together has nothing to do with me at all. Actors after acting are done. Production, distribution and release are all investor's work. As for comparisons they will be definite, but in front of the public I don't know what to say, luckily all three characters are completely different." As for box office expectation, Ge You said, "1 billion is not too much, 5
billion is not too little." In the film Ge You and Huang Xiaoming had some exchanges that were accused of being homosexual. Huang Xiaoming honestly said that he did not know how to perform to achieve such a result.

The 47th Taiwan Golden Horse Award tonight will take place in Taoyuan. Ethan Juan (Yuen Siu Tin) with MONGA received his first Best Actor nomination. Last night Siu Tin dressed up for the pre race party and appeared with Derek Tsang Kwok Cheung, Teddy Chan Tak Sum and
others. Facing strong competition, Siu Tin humbly said, "I am not nervous at all, tomorrow I will be relaxed as well. The nomination is already very good. Because I have never participated before, I just found out that the nomination had a certificate. It's like everyone gets a prize."

When asked whether he will walk the red carpet with his girlfriend Tiffany Hsu, he siad, "Tomorrow night my female companion will be my boss!"

Because both Wang Xueqi and Nicholas Tse Ting Fung were busy with work, only director Chan Tak Sum represented BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS (SUP YUET WAI SING) last night. He was very confident about Wang Xueqi's chances. "He made the entire film much more lively. Teacher Wang said that he would try to make time and come."

According to news from Taiwan, with 9 nominations BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS ran into two strong Taiwan films SEVEN DAYS IN HEAVEN and WHEN LOVE COMES and might not win Best Picture and Best Director. However lead actor Wang Xueqi and supporting actor Tse Ting Fung remained favorites. Best Supporting Actress would be between Zhang Jingchu and SEVEN DAYS IN HEAVEN's Cheung Si-Yin.

[2010.11.17] GE YOU AND HUANG XIAOMING BECOME A COUPLE

Opening nationwide on December 4, the film SACRIFICE (ORPHAN OF ZHAO) yesterday held an official site launch in Beijing. Director Chen Kaige led actors Ge You, Wang Xueqi, Huang Xiaoming, Fan Bingbing, Zhao Wen Zhou, Hai Qing, Zhao Wenhao and others to make the appearance.

The event took a question and answer format to explain each character's relationship. Earlier this month Ge You responded to many questions with "can't accept". Huang Xiaoming who had the most scenes with him in the film seemed to have inherited the ability. Facing the host's exaggerated compliment, he immediately "can't accept" it. As for why he ruined his own image with an ugly scar on his face, Huang Xiaoming said, "Hopefully this chop opened up Huang Xiaoming's existing image so everyone could see my nature as an actor."

Because in the film Huang Xiaoming had two looks before and after the scar, someone online made a two faced Han Jue (Huang Xiaoming's role) -- half angelic, half demonic Huang Xiaoming. ORPHAN OF ZHAO described a 15 year struggle between Cheng Ying, Tu Anjia and Han Jue over the Orphan of Zhao. Such a guy movie actually made two "couples". Since the start of the production, two Best Actors Ge You and Wang Xueqi were rumored to be acting on screen and feuding off screen. They hug and dispelled the dispute rumor. Wang Xueqi even said, "I like Ge You too much, we are more and more like a couple". When asked about the "couple" feeling, Ge You joked, "This is speculation, Xiaoming and I can speculate on the spot now. To talk about the feeling, we are more like a couple.....we often drink a little, chat a little, at night we constantly go to the same place." The 47th Annual Taiwan Golden Horse Award ceremony will take place on November 20. The event yesterday announced its nominations. The local director Chang Tso-chi directed WHEN LOVE COMES received 14 nominations, the Teddy Chan Tak Sum directed BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS tightly followed with 9 nominations. Ethan Ruan (Yuen King Tin) starred
MONGA also received six nominations. Siu Tin also received his first Best Actor nomination. He felt very happy that his acting was recognized and only regretted that the film did not receive a Best Director nomination. Taiwan director Chang Tso-chi directed WHEN LOVE COMES has been nominated for Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best New Performer and other awards and tied the HOLLYWOOD HONG KONG nomination record. The Chan Tak Sum directed BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS also performed outstandingly with Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Actor and other nominations. Nicholas Tse Ting Fung even received a Best Supporting Actor nomination. He won in the same category at the Hong Kong Film Award, but he remained calm, cool and
collected. Emperor stated that it would try to make time for him to attend.

The Taiwan director Doze Niu Chen-Zer's MONGA did not received Best Feature Film or Best Director nominations. However he and producer Lee Lieh both have been nominated for Outstanding Taiwanese Filmmaker of the Year along with one of SEVEN DAYS IN HEAVEN director Essay Liu. As for Best Actor nominee Siu Tin felt very happy and only regretted that
director Niu Chen-Zer was not nominated for Best Director. However he has talked with the director over the phone and felt that everyone have worked hard for the film. One of Siu Tin's opponents would be BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS' Wang Xueqi, who Siu Tin honestly said he liked. Thus he was very happy to be nominated with him. If he truly won he won it for the
film. However he did not feel any pressure because he understood that it was beyond his control. He also said that at first when he switched from modeling to acting he thought about quitting, he never expected to be finally recognized now.

AFTERSHOCK received three nominations. Aside from Best Visual Effects, actresses Xu Fan and Zhang Jingchu received Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress nomination respectively. Investor Media Asia was very happy and thought that Xu Fan and Zhang Jingchu deserved the
nominations. Less than perfect was the lack of Best Director and Best Feature Film nominations.

[2010.09.29] JOHN WOO'S DAUGHTER MOVES HIM TO TEARS

The John Woo (Ng Yu Sum) produced wuxia film REIGN OF ASSASSINS (GIM YU) earlier held a premiere in Beijing. The segment that honored Ng Yu Sum was the most emotional, as the event displayed footage of his Venice award acceptance but suddenly added his daughter Angeles Woo (Ng Fei Ha)'s thoughts about his award. Ng Yu Sum broke down after seeing the words that her daughter said for him. Attending the premiere were director Su Chao-Bin, actors Michelle Yeoh (Yeung Chi King), Jung Woo-Sung, Barbie Hsu (Tsui Hei Woon), Shawn Yue Man Lok, Wang Xueqi, Paw Hee Ching, Pace Wu (Ng Pui Chi) and Leon Dai Lap Yan. The entire audience gave a three minute standing ovation.

The actors proceeded to perform. Yue Man Lok stood out the most as he made noodles on stage. He then jumped rope with the noodles he made and lighten the mood. Most actors performed with swords. When Jung Woo-Sung drew his sword it broke in half. Actually it was a set up, the
missing half of the sword was already in Jung Woo-Sung's chest. Yeung Chi King and Jung Woo-Sung embraced each other. She said that from the first day of their collaboration they fought, later they held hands at any public event as a message of mutual support.

REIGN OF ASSASSINS (GIM YU) was John Woo (Ng Yu Sum)'s first wuxia production. The film will premiere in Venice on September 3. The film cast included Michelle Yeoh (Yeung Chi King), Jung Woo-Sung, Wang Xueqi, Barbie Hsu (Tsui Hei Woon) and Shawn Yue Man Lok. Earlier at the official site launch, the villain assassin leader Wang Xueqi revealed that he and Big S had an indecent mentor disciple relationship and passion scenes. Recently the film company unveiled stills from this scene. Wang Xueqi and Big S' passion scene was "direct stimulation".

Wang Xueqi's righteous image has always been well known. He has stated to the media that his weakness was love scene, kiss scene, not to mention bed scene. Yet this time in REIGN, he broke through his personal performance limit and played an indecent mentor disciple romance with Big S. Earlier Wang Xueqi stated that he had to make the passion scene very pretty and human. The 62nd Annual Cannes Film Festival will soon open. The anticipated New Year film BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS has an intense production so the cast will not be able to promote in Cannes. Yesterday the film's Cannes Film Festival poster and the cast's costumes were unveiled. BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS gathers many top star performers,
including the "gambler" Donnie Yen Chi Tan, "businessman" Wang Xueqi, "rickshaw puller" Nicholas Tse Ting Fung, "Revolutionary" Tony Leung Ka Fai, "Assassin" Hu Jun, "Police Chief" Eric Tsang Chi Wai, "Opera Troupe Daughter" Chris Li Yuchun, "Opera Troupe Leader" Simon Yam Tat Wa, "Concubine" Fan Bingbing and "Beggar" Leon Lai Ming.
