The Andy Lau Tak Wa, Zhang Jingchu, Lin Chiling, Tong Dawei starred treasure hunt film DWELLING IN THE FUCHUN MOUNTAINS yesterday shot its final indoor scene at the China National Museum.  At 4PM as director Sun Jianjun yelled cut, the film completed its last shot -- the exhibit of DWELLING IN THE FUCHUN MOUNTAINS bi-coastal combination that at the same time signaled the production's perfect completion.  12 of the most influential sculptors in China worked together on the film sculpture NEW DWELLING IN THE FUCHUN MOUNTAINS, which also appeared for the first time.

After finishing its final shot, the team immediately held a wrap press conference.  At the ceremony director Sun Jianjun, American director Bob, Actors Lau Tak wa, Tong Dawei, Zhang Jingchu, Lin Ching and the release company representatives and other cultural celebrities unveiled the film sculpture NEW DWELLING IN THE FUNCHUN MOUNTAINS.  Wa Jai was asked about his relationships with the actresses in the film.  He joked, "One is my lover, the other is my mistress.  I am a couple with Tong Dawei as well."  Lin Chiling said, "Overall character relationships are all complicated and complex, hard to describe in a few words.  Being able to work with Brother Wa is our honor.  From Brother Wa we saw what we should learn from him.  He has everyone's respect for being very serious at every shot."

Zhang Jingchu praised everyone's professionalism.  From Brother Wa she learned a lot about action scenes.  Lin Chiling was so ill while shooting in Dubai that she could not speak, but she still had no complaint.  Tong Dawei felt that Wa Jai's high emotional quotient was the most amazing.  "We were very tired from the shoot and worked very long hours, but Brother Wa was able to remain serious for every shot.  Like last night the fight scenes were shot first, then when we shot the dramatic scenes everyone was very tired, but he during the shoot still put his best condition in front of the camera.  Everyone has moods and would be somewhat frustrated, but not Brother Wa."

[2012.02.07] LIN CHILING FIGHTS FOR EVERY SECOND

courtesy of takungpao.com

The Andy Lau Tak Wa, Zhang Jingchu, Lin Chiling, Tong Dawei starred DWELLING IN THE FUCHUN MOUNTAINS has already completed its Dubai shoot.  This time the Dubai production team had several hundred people, 120 foreigners from over 27 nations and regions around the world.  Thus their flights alone cost over 1 million RMB.  The seven star class Burj Al Arab that declined over 40 film production requests from around the world opened up completely for the Chinese production.

Turning down even MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 4, why did Burj Al Arab accept a Chinese production this time?  "Burj Al Arab and Burj Dubai both turned us down.  We edited a trailer for them with the scenes that were shot in China, then they were convinced and permitted us to shoot there."  The producer said.

Shooting at the Burj Al Arba required passing three check points.  3 kilometers away from the hotel was the first check point with strict inspections of personnel numbers and identifications.  Under such conditions, the team had to race against time for a record six location changes inside the hotel in one day.  The production was already broken down into ten minute intervals and thus received the foreign team's high praises.

[2012.02.04] ZHANG JINGCHU LAUGHS AND CRIES ON HER BIRTHDAY

courtesy of takungpao.com

The Andy Lau Tak Wa, Zhang Jingchu, Lin Chiling, Tong Dawei starred treasure hunt film DWELLING IN THE FUCHUN MOUNTAINS is still in production.  Earlier Zhang Jingchu celebrates her birthday and the team held a special birthday party for her.  On a giant cake was the painting DWELLING IN THE FUCHUN MOUNTAINS, which was an enormous pleasant surprise for Zhang Jingchu as she broke into tears of joy.

This was also the first time Zhang Jingchu worked after the Lunar new Year.  That day, after an entire day of intense production, the team that has been "plotting in secret" for a long time suddenly brought red roses to Zhang Jingchu and sang the birthday song.  Zhang Jingchu was beyond surprised.  She laughed and cried as she carried the roses.  Jingchu said, "Today through text messages, microblogs I receive many well wishes.  Thank you everyone very much for caring about me.  I never celebrate birthdays, but today I receive so many pleasant surprises!  I truly appreciate the team for giving the warmest and the most touching birthday, for this warm and harmonious big family.  I will work even harder on the shoot, let's go!"  Zhang Jingchu even personally cut cakes for everyone on the team.

During the shoot, in order to achieve the best result Zhang Jingchu soaked in the 4 to 5 degree Celsius lake water for almost half a hour.  The team complimented Zhang Jingchu's professionalism.  The film after completing the Hanghzou and Dubai shoots will head to Beijing.

[2012.01.12] LIN CHILING IS TOO SICK TO TALK

courtesy of singtao.com

courtesy of takungpao.com

DWELLING IN THE FUCHUN MOUNTAINS earlier held a global press conference in Atlantis the Palm Dubai with over 50 media outlets in attendance.  Chinese consul general in Dubai Zhan Jingbao, film director Sun Jianjun, American director Bob Brown along with stars Andy Lau Tak Wa, Zhang Jingchu and Lin Chiling also attended.

Director of a Beijing Olympics promotional film Sun Jianjun said, "Dubai like China is often misunderstood as somewhere dirty and messy.  China film for the first time display modern methods, techniques and trendy quality to viewers of China and other nations."  Zhang Jingchu's fluent English received media compliments.  She said, "Actually it feels like a dream.  Yesterday I saw the beautiful Persian Gulf outside, I posted online that I could only arrive here on a magic carpet."  Due to the temperature difference between Beijing and Dubai, Lin Chiling was not well enough to speak, but her elegant appearance and sweet smile earned consolation from friends in the media.

Reporters asked Lau Tak Wa about change of pace at work and in life.  Wa Jai said, "My life hasn't changed much because my personal life and work are separate.  Work is a very important part of life, so I would put a lot of effort into this area."  When asked since this film was an Eastern spy film would it be compared to 007 or MISSION IMPOSSIBLE GHOST PROTOCOL, Wa Jai said, "This film is such a large production, the directors' efforts including our other director' bringing many many new things from the U.S.  I don't know whether it can compare to foreigners', but we would make a very, very special spy film with our own specialty."  Sun Jianjun added, "In the first 30 years, Mr. Lau was a mix of Tom Cruise and Michael Jackson.  Maybe in the last 30 years he will be Sean Connery."  Wa Jai said, "I hope even more that I am myself."

Fashion label Giorgio Armani's Central new store opening ceremony took place last night.  The event invited stars like Shu Qi, Rosamund Kwan Chi Lam, Chen Kun, Wu Chun, Kwai Lun-Mei, Patti Hou, Zhang Jingchu, Julian Cheung Chi Lam, Shawn Yue Man Lok, Fala Chen and Moses Chan Ho.

Wu Chun today has to return to Beijing for SAVING GENERAL YANG (YEUNG GA JEUNG).  Recently he dubbed in Cantonese for the first time in another film MAGIC TO WIN (HOI SUM MOR FAT) but he worried that the audience would not understand.  He said that his Cantonese has improved.  He learned it on his own from watching Hong Kong film.  Recently working with Andy Lau Tak Wa on a film, Zhang Jingchu praised that Wa Jai was very handsome.  Wa Jai was rumored to be a father soon.  She asked with surprise, "Really?  I don't know.  Tomorrow I will congratulate him.  Maybe it's a joke!  If so then I will tell everyone.  (Has Chu Lai Sin visited the set?)  No."  Kwai Lun-Mei cut her hair short for a new film.  If the story required it, she would not mind shaving her head.

Shu Qi was rumored to be a Bond Girl but she said that she has not auditioned and no one contacted her.  She learned about everything from the media.  Would she accept if she was invited?  She joked, "Right now I really am not too interested.  I don't want to fight, leave it for someone else.  After over ten years I hope to rest a little, I don't want to lose the passion for film."  She said that for now she did not want to take another role.  She would like to stop for half a year or so.  Now she has finally turned down all offers and she felt much lighter.  Her boss had no opinion about her temporary break.  She joked, "The boss always treats me like a money tree, stopping for half a year doesn't matter!  (Would you enjoy life like Kwan Chi Lam?)  That's good too, if I have her financial abilities.  (Hasn't you made enough?)  If I only spend a little I will be able to have meal."  She said that for over ten years she has been busy with movies, she hoped to be able to have more personal space in the future.

[2011.10.28] ANDY LAU TURNS INTO EASTERN 007

courtesy of singtao.com
courtesy of takungpao.com

The film DWELLING IN THE FUCHUN MOUNTAINS yesterday held a production start ceremony at one of the ten spots in West Lake, Hengzhou, Pinhuqiu.  Attendees included Andy Lau Tak Wa, Lin Chiling, Zhang Jingchu, and Tong Dawei.  This film would be similar to a 007 treasure hunt story.  Later it will shoot in Hengzhou, Taipei, Tokyo, Milan, Dubai and other locations.

The actors yesterday rode dragon shaped boats on West Lake.  Fans filled the lakeside.  When Wa Jai, Lin Chiling and others arrived, cheers rose.  Wa Jai and other actors waved to everyone form the boat.  Phoenix Satellite boss Liu Changle, China Film Group boss Han Sanping, Media Asia Entertainment executive John Chong Ching and others yesterday also attended the ceremony.  Han Sanping pointed out that this film's male lead had to be Wa Jai.  Because of Wa Jai, the production waited until this year.

Speaking of playing the "Eastern 007" this time, Wa Jai joked that he too wanted to become 007 but would depend on how the director shot it.  Tong Dawei this time played a villain and he was very happy to be able to work with Wa Jai.  To him it was a dream.  Lin Chiling in the film would appear with various costumes.  Zhang Jingchu's right arm was bruised.  She said that this character was very different.  The director joked that after making this film, no one would dare to want her because her character was.  Did Wa Jai have to fight?  He joked that he was a substance actor so he did not have to fight.  People laughed and Wa Jai immediately joked, "Don't mock me."

Wa Jai pointed out that in the film he and his girlfriend broke up and got back together, just like the painting DWELLING IN THE FUCHUN MOUNTAINS.  Was Lin Chiling or Zhang Jingchu his girlfriend?  He joked htat of course she would not be so tall.  Chiling joked that she would be eliminated because of her height.  Wa Jai joked, "That's right, who told me to be so short."  Yet reportedly Lin Chiling was Wa Jai's wife, after breaking up he was with Zhang Jingchu.

[2011.04.11] HONG KONG FILM AWARD BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS COMPETITION IS FIERCE

courtesy of singtao.com

With six days away from the 30th Hong Kong Film Award, the countdown has begun. Let us first take a look at the Best Supporting Actress nominees, including CROSSING HENNESSY (YUET MOON HIN NEI SI)'s Mimi Choo and Paw Hee Ching, GALLANTS (DA LUI TOI)'s Susan Shaw Yam Yam, CITY UNDER SIEGE (CHUEN SING GAI BEI)'s Zhang Jingchu and ONCE A GANGSTER (FEI SA FUNG JUNG SHUEN)'s Candy Yu On On. All are good actresses so the competition is fierce.

Taking a look at the five nominees, the 28th Hong Kong Film Award Best Actress Paw Hee Ching's acting has long been recognized. She has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 19th and the 23rd Hong Kong Film Award. This time in CROSSING she appeared in heavy make up and left a deep impression. Since she has already won Best Actress she had an edge. Her CROSSING co-star Mimi Choo has been in show business for years. Her acting also belonged to the substance school. However it still is her first nomination and she is less of a favorite.

As for the 27th Hong Kong Film Award Best Supporting Actress Shaw Yam Yam with THE PYE DOG (YEH LEUNG HUEN), she is nominated this year again. The competition this time does not lack Best Actress and frequent Hong Kong Film Award nominees, seemingly her chances are half cold. On the other hand Yu On On was nominated earlier with MY NAME IS FAME (NGOR YIU SING MING). After the defeat she returns again in the same category. Her unusually trendy mob mother in ONCE was pleasantly surprising and refreshing, her chances are higher. As for the frequent Hong Kong Film Award nominee in recent years, Zhang Jingchu has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress or Best Actress at the 25th, 27th and 29th Hong Kong Film Award. Although all three times the award brushed her by, she still keeps on fighting. Against strong competition her potential should not be overlooked.

[2011.04.01] JACKIE CHAN RAISES FUND FIRST

courtesy of on.cc

courtesy of singtao.com

courtesy of takungpao.com

Hong Kong's fund raiser for Japan earthquake disaster victims, LOVE BEYOND BORDER, will take place tonight at Victoria Park. Jackie Chan yesterday appeared on a Commercial Radio interview. Jackie Chan said that earlier he wanted to prepare a joint performance of China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and Japan, but later Japan and Myanmar both had problems. Coincidentally Chi Wai contacted him so everyone created this fund raiser. Jackie Chan pointed out, this event actually would help other Asian nations that required assistance. He also planned an annual all Asian fund raiser instead of waiting for every disaster.

Jackie Chan said that tonight the event will have 150 donation lines, some were set up for the Japanese people with both Japanese and English services. He was responsible for contact foreign artists. Originally Kenny G. wanted to perform, but due to too many artists he instead would send a video. He also revealed that Eric Tsang Chi Wai and Andrew Lau Wai Keung argued over singer arrangement but soon were fine. How much did he donated to this event? He said, "Whatever. I stop working, the loss from which is even more. I almost stopped for two weeks."

Speaking of reports of his kiss with Xu Jinglei, he said, "Do you think I did?" He pointed out that many people like Zhang Jingchu and Zhao Benshan were present that day. Xu Jinglei wanted to approach Jaycee Chan (Fong Cho Ming) about a movie, but Cho Ming had to work on Derek Yee Tung Sing's new film. When she left, he walked her to her car. The report then wrote that he kissed her like mad. He said, "I laughed as soon as I finished reading it. Yesterday I saw Zhang Ziyi and she joked that she wanted a 'Xu Jinglei kiss'. I am used to it." Earlier Alan Tang Kwong Wing passed away but his death was mistakenly reported instead. Jackie Chan said that he received several thousand calls. When Willie Chan Chi Keung called him he even cried and was very worried. His American manager also called him. He said, "It has been rumored many times before, I am used to this. I wouldn't clarify it right away, why do I have to clarify anything."

Also Pak Shuet Sin two days ago visited Tang Kwong Wing's family to console Mrs. Tang and her daughters. Yesterday Sister Sin again visited the Tang family but remained silent.

[2010.10.18] ZHANG JINGCHU IS TRAPPED FOR 100 HOURS FOR A SHORT FILM

Zhu Yuchen, Zhang Jingchu

courtesy of takungpao.com

Director Pang Ho Cheung's first film in the Mainland, 4+1 (4 represents four short films that are titled Four Night Strange Tales, 1 represents a major motion picture that will be released). After the Zhou Xun starred JI GAP DOH YUN MOR (NAIL CLIPPER HUMAN MONSTER), the Shawn Yue Man Lok starred WEDDING WAR (GEIN FUN DAI JOK JIN) and the Stanley Huang (Wong Lap Hung) starred FAKE ACT REAL CREATION (GA HEI JUNG JOK), the fourth, the Leste Chen (Chen Jing Doh) directed WHEN LOVE SPREADS ON MICRO BLOG (OI JOI MEI BOK MAN YIN SI) held its first media visit earlier. Leads Zhang Jingchu and Zhu Yuchen were trapped inside a small superstar storage room. Zhang Jingchu honestly said that making this short film has been very tough because most of it took place at night. In the 100 or so hours of production, Zhu Yuchen only slept for a dozen or so hours. While making this storage room scene, Zhang Jingchu suggested to the director to add a potato chip eating scene. Although the director agreed, when they happily prepared to eat potato chips they realized that the bag was expired.

In the short film, they played a couple who had less and less face to face exchange and interact more through their micro blog. Even when they fought they did so through their micro blog. In real life, Zhang Jingchu stated that she was dead set against doing so because with less face to face opportunities people would overlook a lot of details around them; in addition she would not write about fights on her micro blog because "shame at home cannot be spread outside". Zhu Yuchen stated that off camera he and Zhang Jingchu often exchanged micro blog experience.
Although he liked it very much, he would not put personal matter on the micro blog.

Ethan Ruan (Yuen King Tin) starred
MONGA also received six nominations. Siu Tin also received his first Best Actor nomination. He felt very happy that his acting was recognized and only regretted that the film did not receive a Best Director nomination. Taiwan director Chang Tso-chi directed WHEN LOVE COMES has been nominated for Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best New Performer and other awards and tied the HOLLYWOOD HONG KONG nomination record. The Chan Tak Sum directed BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS also performed outstandingly with Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Actor and other nominations. Nicholas Tse Ting Fung even received a Best Supporting Actor nomination. He won in the same category at the Hong Kong Film Award, but he remained calm, cool and
collected. Emperor stated that it would try to make time for him to attend.

The Taiwan director Doze Niu Chen-Zer's MONGA did not received Best Feature Film or Best Director nominations. However he and producer Lee Lieh both have been nominated for Outstanding Taiwanese Filmmaker of the Year along with one of SEVEN DAYS IN HEAVEN director Essay Liu. As for Best Actor nominee Siu Tin felt very happy and only regretted that
director Niu Chen-Zer was not nominated for Best Director. However he has talked with the director over the phone and felt that everyone have worked hard for the film. One of Siu Tin's opponents would be BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS' Wang Xueqi, who Siu Tin honestly said he liked. Thus he was very happy to be nominated with him. If he truly won he won it for the
film. However he did not feel any pressure because he understood that it was beyond his control. He also said that at first when he switched from modeling to acting he thought about quitting, he never expected to be finally recognized now.

AFTERSHOCK received three nominations. Aside from Best Visual Effects, actresses Xu Fan and Zhang Jingchu received Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress nomination respectively. Investor Media Asia was very happy and thought that Xu Fan and Zhang Jingchu deserved the

[2010.08.13] BENNY CHAN DISCOVERS ZHANG JINGCHU'S ACTION POTENTIAL

courtesy of takungpao.com

Benny Chan Muk Sing led Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Wu Jing, Zhang Jingchu to Kuala Lumpur to attend the CITY UNDER SIEGE (CHUEN SING GAI BEI) press conference and premiere. This was Wu Jing and Zhang Jingchu's first visit to Kuala Lumpur. The event arranged for four luxury cars to take them to the premiere. After the premiere, a local Malay Dato set up a special Japanese meal for director Chan Muk Sing and the cast. Because Aaron has always liked spicy hot pot casserole, Dato even arranged for take out spicy hot pot casserole to be brought to the Japanese restaurant for Sing Sing. Aaron appreciated Dato's attentive arrangement.

Chan Muk Sing stated that he has worked many times with Kwok Fu Sing and Wu Jing before so they already had chemistry. He said that both were very agile. For every dangerous stunt, he would very naturally ask them to personally perform without any consideration that they were actually actors and not action stunt people. However for realism, actors needed to personally perform the stunts. Instead Zhang Jingchu often complained about their last minute changes for her first action film, which gave her stress. Zhang Jingchu stated that although she had stress in the end she was able to complete the task, in particular the mid air somersault. During the shoot she was able to put it off rather smoothly, even the crew applauded her. She said that this time director Chan Muk Sing discovered her action potential. During the shoot, she injured her leg. Co-star Wu Jing immediately gave her a lot of effective medicinal wine, which she appreciated.

Wu Jing stated that this time he ran into Collin Chou Siu Lung. Their fights were rather smooth. The hardest was probably the last scene with Zhang Jingchu. Fortunately Zhang Jingchu has always been great, when she cried he cried too. In CITY UNDER SIEGE, Kwok Fu Sing had to
travel between four lanes of traffic on the wire and over 20 to 30 cars to fight with Chou Siu Lung. Aaron stated that the most thrilling scene was when Chou Siu Lung strongly tossed him out of a car and he went through the glass. If timed incorrectly, he would be under the car and
run over. Once he almost hit a pole, which left me sweating bullets.

[2010.08.09] AARON KWOK DENIES COSTUME IMITATION OF HEATH LEDGER

Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Zhang Jingchu with fawlty confetti cannons?

courtesy of singtao.com

courtesy of takungpao.com

Aaron Kwok Fu Sing and Zhang Jingchu yesterday promoted CITY UNDER SIEGE (CHUEN SING GAI BEI) in Tsuen Wan and also premiered the film music video FORGOT (MONG LIU). Sing Sing and Zhang Jingchu played darts with the audience on stage. Because the event set up magnetic darts and Zhang Jingchu's belt had metal, when she threw the darts they were
stuck to her bet. She was both curious and embarrassed. Sing Sing in the film played a dart expert. He expressed that this was his first collaboration with Zhang Jingchu. It was also her first action film but her performance was already great. He said, "We had to constantly
practice for action films. Once the director asked her to practice hard on some moves but didn't use them in the end. Sometimes the effort would be wasted."

Sing Sing expressed that although the film shoot was tough, he never thought about whether it would win an award. He said that this was film that was both commercial and full entertaining, he hoped that the audience would see his change. He also said that he made an exception by
making a music video and singing for the film, but the music video will not be in his new record. As for online claims that Sing Sing's clown costume imitated Heath Ledger's character, Sing Sing did not see the resemblance at all. Everyone would fight for him after watching the film. He said, "I instead feel I look a little like Ronald McDonald. I have adjusted the pace of the character." Was he upset? He said, "People who haven't seen it might say that, but I know what I am doing." Zhang Jingchu stated that this time action scenes often resulted in injuries. Once she pulled her leg and could not walk, fortunately Wu Jing gave her some medicine and taught her to relax and use of strength. Working with him has been very pleasant but many scenes in the film were messy fights. Sing Sing pointed out that since it was Zhang Jingchu's first action film, the director knew what to expect. Everyone also watched over her. Zhang Jingchu said, "Lately I often take the Cross Harbor Tunnel in Hung Hom. I saw the film poster and thought Wu Jing was very handsome."

The Benny Chan Muk Sing directed 100 million yuan new film CITY UNDER SIEGE (CHUEN SING GAI BEI) after its Beijing premiere two days ago went to Shanghai for its premiere press conference with Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Collin Chou Siu Lung, Wu Jing, Zhang Jingchu and the director. Chan Muk Sing thanked the actors for their professionalism, personally performing all the dangerous stunts without any complaint.

Already on his third collaboration with Sing Sing, Chan Muk Sing stated that they already had quite a lot of chemistry. Each time when he asked Sing Sing to personally perform a dangerous stunt, he would only just say "oh" and took his mark, which was very rare for an actor who was without any martial art background. He had 100% confidence in Wu Jing who had a martial art background, and Zhang Jingchu was an actress who asked a lot from herself. For her first action film she too risked her life. However the most toughest one had to be Chou Siu Lung. 80% of his scenes were with special effect make up, and he was also the actor with the longest production time.

Sing Sing said that since he and the director have worked together for so far, he believed that he would not be harmed. Sing Sing joked, "As long as he doesn't kill me, I would obey the director." He also said that this time was full of suffering, not only from the complicated make up process of the transformations but also from a death defying scene at sea. He said, "The area was whirlpools, someone would be swept away if he did not pay attention." Sing Sing also revealed that after working with Roy Chow Hin Yeung he became interested in directing. If he had the chance, he would try to direct.

Chou Siu Lung stated that the biggest challenge was the special effect make up, which had four stages. When he just inhaled the poisonous gas the make up was only on the face, then some skin or head gear was added and he had to wear a thick cotton suit. During the shoot, the temperature reached 30 to 40 degrees Celsius. Everyday the shoot took over 12 hours. It was very tough.

Zhang Jingchu stated that due to the tight schedule, before the shoot she did not have time to train. Thus all the action in the film she learned on the spot. Although she never thought about becoming an action actress, she liked action films very much. She said, "Now I am quite far
behind, but I still have potential. Soon I will be able to play a female IP MAN type character."
