[2011.06.04] MAVIS PAN'S EXOTIC NINE TAILED FOX LOOK

courtesy of takungpao.com

Wong Jing's costume wuxia film TREASURE INN (CHOI SUN HAT JANG) will be released on the 28th. The film starred Nicholas Tse Ting Fung, Nick Cheung Ka Fai, Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin, Huang Yi, Tong Dawei, Liu Yang, Mavis Pan Shuangshuang and others. Playing the Nine Tailed Fox, Pan Shuangshuang's poster look was even more exotic. Due to her gossip with Raymond Lam Fung, Pan Shuangshuang has become much better known. Starting as a professional model to film, she began to transition into an all purpose artist.

Whether the female assistant in WHAT WOMEN WANT, Nine Tailed Fox in TREASURE INN, Xiaoqiao in LOVE FINALLY and the Princess in THE JADE AND THE PEARL (FEI CHUI MING JU), her work followed one after another to release. As for rumors that she would participate in some category III films, Shuangshuang herself and her management company both disagreed with making category III films. Shuangshuang was a new comer that Bona film company would push. She hoped everyone would not evaluate someone with bias. She used to be professional model and had professional ethics. She will become a professional artist as well. Her management company hoped that the outside would only just stare at her figure and make up stories. She would show the outside her unique acting potential.

In memory of Japan earthquake, "Love without border 311 candle light evening" will take place tonight in the Victoria Park. Hosts Eric Tsang Chi Wai, Carol Cheng Yui Ling, Sylvia Chang (Cheung Ngai Ga) and Alice Chan Mei Ling yesterday rehearsed. Chan's Japanese husband also came to support his wife.

Chi Wai said that the event will take at 7:05PM and last 3 hours. The venue has memorial areas where people can place cards. At the same time the event also set up 150 donation pledge lines, 10 of which would be in Japanese for the Japanese people who reside in Hong Kont to donate. The numbers would be 1833288 (Cantonese) and 1833123 (Japanese).

Do Do suggested for attendees to bring their own blankets, water and such because the venue would not set up seating. Chi Wai also urged attendees to bring bags to clean up after themselves with and keep the venue tidy. Confirmed artists included Joey Yung Cho Yi, Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin, Miriam Yeung Chin Wa, Andy Lau Tak Wa, George Lam Chi Cheung, Alan Tam Wing Lun and Wynners, Korea's Kwon Sang-Woo also agreed to attend. Taiwan artists would include Sky Wu (Ng Si Hoi) and Jon Lee Chung Sing. Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Kelly Chen Wai Lam, Ken Watanabe, Masahiko Kondo, and Nina Ricci also prepared video call for pledges.

According to Jackie Chan, Chi Wai and Andrew Lau Wai Keung argued over the theme song recording. Chi Wai said, "It was nothing special, everyone had an opinion before and after the arrangement. Everyone just wanted to do what was good for the event." Was artist assignment
difficult? He said, "The most important was everyone was comfortable, if they could come they could participate. We couldn't hold anyone up. The Hong Kong artists were great, they didn't mind what they sang." Chen Wai Lam who just suffered a miscarriage supported the event with a video recording. Chi Wai said, "Kelly was always willing to do the video, always wanting to participate. She wouldn't come because she didn't want the goal to change, she wanted everyone to think of the victims." The theme song SUCCUMB NOT TO PAIN was accused of copying a Korean song. Chi Wai said it was impossible. "The song was based on a poem, it was very hard to find a song that matched the poem. Tang Chi Wai didn't sleep or rest and worked for a day and a half without sleep. Such accusation was very unfair to him."

Chan Mei Ling was very concerned with the nuclear crisis after the Japan earthquake. She said, "It's very serious, so far nothing has improved. If all goes well it will take several months to repair. It may take several years." She worried the most about the Japanese people who lived near the nuclear power plant. "I don't know what to do, not only did they have earthquake and tsunami, the situation was very severe." Would Chi Wai send any artists to shoot videos at the disaster area? He said, "I don't plan to just yet. I have to keep artist and safety issues in mind. Now it's inconvenient to go." Chan Mei Ling agreed, "Now the disaster area remained very intense. If too many people went they would cause traffic problems. The disaster area's food and water remained lacking."

At the event show business would have no differences and no borders to cheer for the Japanese people and at the same time urged the people of Hong Kong to donate and help the Japanese disaster victims. All the donations after expenses will be donated to the international charity group Salvation Army.

Many electronic media including TVB, ATV, and now Hong Kong will broadcast the event live. TVB even arranged for broadcast over four channels. However ATV will only broadcast it on its High Definition channel while the Hong Kong station will continue its usual schedule. According to ATV, they did so only because the pictures would be clearer and keeping different types of viewers in mind.

In addition, TVB's SCOOP and special program THE JADE AND THE PEARL was fined over HK$160,000 for indirectly promoting the film THE JADE AND THE PEARL. The 72 TENANTS OF PROSPERITY (72 GA JO HAT) promotional program was also fined as well. TVB expressed deep regret over the two fines. TVB's Tsang Sing Ming said although the Broadcast Authority had procedure for TVB to complain to the Chief Executive and the Legislative Council about the verdict, the procedure was complex and required a lot of resources. Thus it could only helplessly accept the verdict, but it asked the Broadcast Authority to strength communication to keep similar situations from appearing again.

[2011.03.23] ERIC TSANG CARRIES THE BANNER FOR 7 SHAW FILMS

courtesy of on.cc

courtesy of takungpao.com

Yesterday Eric Tsang Chi Wai, directors Herman Yau Lai To, Lawrence Cheng Tan Shui, Heiward Mak Hei Yan and Shaw film production director Lawrence Wong Ka Hei and TVB production resource department director Elaine Lok Yi Ling attended the Shaw 2011 film production press conference to announce Shaw's upcoming comedy THE THREE WISE GUYS (FOK LOK SAU), police action film TURNING POINT EXTREME (LAUGHING GOR ji CHIM HUNG JUI GIK), inspirational drama TRIUMPH IN THE SKIES (CHUNG SEUNG WAN SIU), suspense thriller THE FATAL CONNECTIONS (TIN GEI BIN), action mob film JIANG-HU YI (GONG WU YI), modern city romance HUNT FOR LOVE (MIK SIK NAM NUI) and THE PASSAGE BEYOND (YUT UK BO BUI).

When Cheng Tan Shui talked about last year's Shaw films he said that the recently the Raymond Lam Fung starred THE JADE AND THE PEARL (FEI CHUI MING JU) DVD has been selling very well and joked that because viewers wanted to see Lam Fung's old flame Mavis Pan Shuangshuang in a guest starring role. The producer of most of the new films, Chi Wai was asked whether Lam Fung would be cast. He said that first and foremost would be completing the screenplays, the story came first. Thus he has not reached casting yet. Speaking of Lam Fung would be quite a gimmick for MIK SIK NAM NUI, Chi Wai joked, "When the production starts it would already be old news! However, GONG WU YI has decided to have (Bosco) Wong Chung Chak play an university student who returned from overseas and was forced to join the mob. In the end he became the boss."

When asked about the progress of the show business Japan disaster relief fund raising, Chi Wai said, "After the meeting we already decided to hold a press conference to announce the details on the 24th at 5PM. At 7PM we will head to Radio and Television Hong Kong to record the theme song. In order for the Japanese to experience the love of the Hong Kong people, the theme song will be recorded in Japanese. The lyrics are based on a Japanese poem that Kenji Miyazawa wrote. Tang Chi Wai would be responsible for the music. (What about the disaster relief show?) It will take place at Victoria Park but the date has not yet been set, it will be one day between March 31 and April 2."

Starting today, when a viewer buy a ticket to 1778 STORIES OF ME AND MY WIFE (March 24 release) and UMIZARU 3: THE LAST MESSAGE (April 7 release) for any show of any Hong Kong cinema circuit and any ticket price, film distributor Intercontinental and the cinemas will donate HK$2 to the Japan Fuji Film Channel disaster relief fund.

[2010.10.29] KATE TSUI SUPPORTS RAYMOND LAM'S IMPROVEMENT

courtesy of on.cc

courtesy of mingpao.com

courtesy of takungpao.com

Kate Tsui Tsz Shan yesterday attended a Xbox 360 new dance game event. Reportedly Mona Fong Yat Wa wrote Shaw executive Wong Ka Hei, who said at the new Shaw film PERFECT WEDDING (PO PO CHIU GAI YUN) event that Raymond Lam Fung had no film market and thus the film THE JADE AND THE PEARL (FEI CHUI MING JU) only made 3.15 million. Tsz Shan who worked with Lam Fung in PERFECT disagreed. She said that Lam Fung's acting is improving and as far as she knew PERFECT was performing decently at the box office.

However, even the director Barbara Wong Chun Chun earlier criticized television artists for having no film sense when making movies. Tsz Shan honestly said that she and Wong Chun Chun have discussed the subject and believed that the media misunderstood her meaning. She said, "Chun Chun has confidence in us, otherwise why would she ask us to make the movies? Hopefully I will have a chance to work with her again. (Was your confidence shaken?) No, I will accept all criticism and make myself perform better in the future."

Miriam Yeung Chin Wa and Raymond Lam Fung two nights ago attended the film PERFECT WEDDING (PO PO CHIU GAI YUN) celebration. The film's production supervisor Wong Ka Hei revealed under the influence of alcohol that Eric Tsang Chi Wai who originally was working on I LOVE HONG KONG for Shaw will no longer make this film. He explained that because boss Mona Fong Yat Wa thought the story that only revolved with Hong Kong housing project was truly too limited. Chi Wai conducted an analysis afterward and decided against making it. Wong Ka Hei pointed out that Chi Wai felt if the film was made and became a hit, it was an insult to the boss. If it performed poorly, the entire production team had no value to exist. Thus Chi Wai said that the smartest way was not to make it. Wong Ka Hei said that he has also written a letter to Chi Wai to explain to him that if he gave up the production, everyone would suffer even greater losses. Since the cinemas have already been scheduled, if the film was not made then the investment would be lost. He also pointed out that the boss' words could be treated as encouragement for everyone. Chi Wai responded to him and said that he was very pleased to see the letter. He even joked that he would frame the letter, now Chi Wai has decided to continue to make this film. As for PERFECT WEDDING's decent performance, he was very pleased. He also pointed out that his only failure so far was the earlier THE JADE AND THE PEARL (FEI CHUI MING JU) as he miscalculated Lam Fung's film draw.

Raymond Lam Fung and Joey Yung Cho Yi arrived in Guangzhou today to participate in THE JADE AND THE PEARL (FEI CHUI MING JU)'s release ceremonies at four cinemas. Before hand, Lam Fung, Yung Cho Yi, Matthew Ko Kwan Yin, Christine Kuo Wan Wai, Steven Cheung Chi Hung, Coffee Lam Yuen Ha and others attended a press conference in a Guangzhou hotel. Yung Cho Yi joked that she had a lot of troops, but they were either lame or dumb. She cracked up the reporters on hand.

The press conference that was originally scheduled for 2PM due to the star's make up was delayed 40 minutes. Before that, two female fans stopped Lam Fung, Ko Kwan Yin, Cheung Chi Hung. A fan in her 30s mainly bothered Cheung Chi Hung and told him that she went to many places in order to see him. Cheung Chi Hung immediately hid into the elevator. Lam Fung, Ko Kwan Yin jokingly asked Cheung Chi Hung why he ignored the female fan, Cheung Chi Hung helplessly said that every time he saw that female fan she liked to touch. She was too much for him.

Yung Cho Yi played a robber in the film and looked like PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN. She thought her look was very funny and was satisfied with her performance.

Metro Radio two nights ago presented Mandarin Power Award 2010. Eason Chan Yik Shun was the big winner with six awards, while Joey Yung Cho Yi with five awards was the most awarded female singer; Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin was the happiest about Twins winning the nation's most
popular group and revealed that Twins already has plans for another record; the broken up Taiwan group Lollipop honestly said that their brotherhood remained and they were happy for each other's success.

Joey might have success in music, but in film her new film THE JADE AND THE PEARL (FEI CHUI MING JU) only made 410,000 on opening day. She did not noticed the box office but many friends asked her for coupons. She guessed that perhaps due to the schedule coinciding with HKCEE result announcements and students rushing to enroll in schools the performance
was lacking. She said, "The film has only been released for a few days, earlier the advanced screenings were sold out. Later I will promote in many Mainland locations, which I will put all my efforts into. Actually many friends had different opinions of the film, which was suitable for
the entire family. I feel that this entire film promotion is ample. The most important is the word of mouth, which I believe will gradually improve. No one needs to worry too soon."

[2010.08.09] WONG CHO NAM MAKES NEW MOVIE FOR JOEY YUNG TO KISS HIM

Wong Cho Nam, Linda Chung Ka Yun

courtesy of takungpao.com

Wong Cho Nam and Linda Chung Ka Yun last night attended a film production sharing session at the Sheung Wan Civic Center. Cho Nam lately had two film releases in a row. LA COMEDIE HUMAINE (YUN GAN HEI KET) after a month already made over 7 million at the box office. It not only defeated the star studded TRIPLE TAP (CHEUNG WONG JI WONG) but also beat foreign film releases of the same period, which could not have made him any happier. He laughed and said, "I am very happy, we didn't lose to the West."

Cho Nam expressed that in order to avoid wasting the chemistry this time, they have been talking about making another film. However it would probably be next year and add Joey Yung Cho Yi to the cast. During THE JADE AND THE PEARL (FEI CHUI MING JU) production, he discovered that Joey's comedic acting was right on the spot and she had great potential in
comedy. Cho Nam said, "Since she wanted to kiss my 'twin sausages' (lips) I will give her chance to get up close and personal!" However Cho Nam's recent film THE JADE AND THE PEARL bombed at the box office, which he guessed was due to too many summer film releases. He personally was satisfied with the performance. Later he will promote it alone in the Mainland while other actors will head to Southeast Asia. Together they will pump up the box office again.

Yesterday when Cho Nam posed with Ka Yun, Ka Yun put her arm around Cho Nam's shoulder and made the height distance even more obvious. Ka Yun was asked why she did not accommodate Cho Nam a little. She stated that the heels of her shoes were only three inches as she no longer dared to wear high heels. Would she mind a boyfriend who was shorter than her?
she said, "Taller than me would be the best, the same height could work too. He also has to be Chinese, mixed heritage might work too. However I can't accept foreigners because my personality is more stable and conservative. Thus when foreigners courted me during elementary school I turned them down. (What about Asians?) Even better, I feel Korean guys
with single eyelids look like they need sympathy, which is attractive to me."

[2010.08.08] CHARLENE CHOI ASKS RAYMOND LAM AND WONG CHO NAM TO STREAK

Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin

Raymond Lam
courtesy of on.cc

courtesy of singtao.com

Raymond Lam Fung, Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin, Wong Cho Nam and other THE JADE AND THE PEARL (FEI CHUI MING JU) yesterday went to four cinemas to thank viewers. The film promotion strategy has been intense, but its opening day including advanced screening box office reached a new ow with only 410,000. Ah Sa in order to drum up business said, "If the film has 15 million box office, Lam Fung and Wong Cho Nam will run naked!"

Lam Fung yesterday morning went to the cinema alone to thank the viewers. He just returned from Shanghai and next week will have to go to Chengdu, Beijing, Guangdong and other locations to promote. He could not be busier. Did he know that THE JADE AND THE PEARL (FEI CHUI MING JU)'s opening day box office was only 410,000? He stated, "I didn't notice, I don't even know what the box office should be." Earlier 72 TENANTS OF PROSPERITY (72 GA JO HAT) and TURNING POINT (LAUGHING GOR ji BIN JIT) made over 1 million on one day. Lam Fung said, "Then I have to work harder on promotion. Actually the genre is very suitable for a summer release, but with several big films at the same time, pressure is certain."

However, Lam Fung honestly said that he was not disappointed at the poor box office and said that actors only valued character potentials, and whether something could be learned from the process. Only the director or the producer would be more nervous about the box office. He said, "I am still very new in movies. This comedy to me is a new attempt. Later I will make another movie." Lam Fung and Ah Sa in JADE only had a peck. Will he attract viewers with more little more passionate bed scene? He said that if the next film will be a modern film, the standard would be more open. Will he take off his clothes? He joked with the male reporter, "Do you want me to? If you want I can just do it. This film is a family film, the selling point is in this area."

Ah Sa's movies have always been big hits. This time could be considered a new low. She said, "I have no idea how much the past box office was. The movie is still in release, I hope it keeps on improving. Hopefully everyone will support it." Was she patrolling cinemas due to the poor box office? Ah Sa denied and said that promotions were scheduled ahead of time. How would she save the box office? She said, "If the Hong Kong Island had 15 million, last time I said I would wax Lam Fung's leg hair to celebrate. If the figure was reached at the box office, I would ask Lam Fung and Cho Nam to run naked. Joey and I will cheer them on!" Lam Fung was willing to work on a bed scene with her, Ah Sa said with suspicion. "Lam Fung definitely wouldn't say that. If the story requires it I can, but I would be very scared. He has so many fans, he is Prince Charming. (Is he your Prince Charming?) I can only yes!" Ah Sa joked that during the shoot he electrocuted her many times already and that her hair was gone from it. Ah Sa's hair was much shorter. She explained that because lately she worked in costumes, she often had to wear head gear so she cut it short for extension.

[2010.08.07] CHRISTINE KUO'S FILM BOTTOM LINE IS SMILE POINT?

Chrstine Kuo Wan Wai

courtesy of on.cc

Christine Kuo Wan Wai, Wong Cho Nam, Ken Hung Cheuk Lap, Sire Ma Choi and others last night appeared at cinemas to thank THE JADE AND THE PEARL (FEI CHUI MING JU) viewers. Kuo Wan Wai stated that she has already seen the premiere and thought that her part later was not naturally enough. In the promotional tee shirt she was accused of having no career line. She said, "Today everyone wore tee shirts. (No Do It Yourself?) Not enough time! On the day of the premiere I already had a moment of glory. Today I thank the viewers with my heart." She also said that she would not perform in the nude and would only show "smile point" (dimple).

Ma Choi said that earlier she had a car accident, luckily the other party forgave her. She said, "I will compensate him. Many co-workers consoled me. (Did Ron Ng Cheuk Hei?) He didn't call me! Such rumors are actually very flimsy. Don't ask again. The fortune teller says that my real deal will not appear until next year." Cho Nam was so busy with giving gifts to viewers that he appeared late. He also impersonated tour guide "Jane" to say "explosive cut" (sorry) to
everyone.

[2010.08.06] CHARLENE CHOI AND RAYMOND LAM PASSIONATELY KISS FOR A MINUTE

Joey Yung Cho Yi, Raymond Lam Fung, Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin

courtesy of singtao.com

courtesy of takungpao.com

Raymond Lam Fung, Joey Yung Cho Yi, Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin and comedy expert Wong Cho Nam in the new film THE JADE AND THE PEARL (FEI CHUI MING JU) will develop a four sided romance. Although Joey is a music queen, she could not tempt Lam Fung. She said, "In the film I played a bandit king who had to keep a group of bandits. I ran into the general Lam Fung, his heroics got my interest but his heart was with the princess Ah Sa!"

Lam Fung this time had intimate scenes with Ah Sa and Joey. Joey even revealed that Lam Fung was "ordered" to kiss Ah Sa passionate. During the shoot Ng Yu visited the Beijing set but after watching the play back he thought it was not passionate enough and asked them to try again! Lam Fung honestly said that the first passionate scene was shot in Hong Kong, but after editing it was not spot on, so the kiss had to be bigger. Finally this "kiss of the century" was a minute long. However with countless films under her belt, Ah Sa revealed that her most memorable kiss scene was with Andy Lau Tak Wa and not Lam Fung. However she added, "The most memorable was Wa Jai, but this time Lam Fung is the best!" Joey honestly said that she was envious of Ah Sa because she too wanted to get intimate with Wa Jai.

The film company stated that all four leads have applied for the Golden Horse awards and the Hong Kong Film awards. Earlier winning the Puchon Film Festival Best Actress, Ah Sa said that she had no pressure. Instead Lam Fung who starred in STOLEN LOVE (BIT LUEN) over ten years ago claimed that he still had a chance to compete for Best New Actress. As for his first comedy, Lam Fung thought it was very fresh. He not only had to thank the leads but also Lam Suet, Tats Lau Yi Tat and others, because their constant improvisations created a lot of chemistry. Alex Man Chi Leung also taught him how to act. He praised the veterans were very nice people!

Raymond Lam Fung, Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin, Joey Yung Cho Yi, Wong Cho Nam and others THE JADE AND THE PEARL (FEI CHUI MING JU) stars as well as the soon to be married Miriam Yeung Chin Wa last night attended a TVB JADE SOLID GOLD taping at Television City. Ah Sa already stated that she did not feel well as soon as she arrived, even her voice was hoarse. Originally she was to sing two songs, she ended up singing a duet HERE ALL ALONG (YUT JIK DOH JOI) with Lam Fung. She said, "Lam Fung earlier gave me some ice. While working in the Mainland I had a reaction from the mosquito repellent, which I had to do." A magazine claimed that Lam Fung's tea caused HK$5,000, Ah Sa said with surprise, "Huh, that expensive? Is that true? I will have to play ignorant. However it was a little sweet, and after drinking it I was much better." Would Ah Sa considered single rich guy Lam Fung? Ah Sa shook her head and said, "I am leaving, bye." Lam Fung was known as Xiamen Richard Li, Ah Sa said, "I am not a good match for him. He truly is too nice. I have too many flaws and I am sick all the time. Let me recover first." Would she like to be the HK$1 billion bride? She said that she did not need to.

Lam Fung said that he did not know how much the tea cost. He learned about it from a singer teacher in Shanghai. It should not be so expensive because it was not a tonic. Ah Sa said that she was no match for him, Lam Fung said stop playing. Ah Sa could be his new rumored girlfriend so he would not have to always be linked to Linda Chung Ka Yan. Lam Fung said, "That's good too, Ah Sa and I get along." He honestly said more so than with Chung Ka Yan because he and Chung very rarely talked and would not contact each other. Did he have contact with Ah Sa? He said, "Not constantly, but lately we kept running into each other. She and Joey are both fun, everyone like to joke around. I am quite passive." Who would he choose between Joey and Ah Sa to be his girlfriend? Lam Fung said coyly, "Ask my Dad and Mon, I am very filial."
